| Xiangxiang Dongshan College is located in Xiangxiang, Hunan. The selection of the location reflects the scholars’ favor of pastoral life, as well as the ethnic and moral principle in rites and music in ancient China. The latter is also shown in its architectural space form. The building’s style embodies Huxiang local culture. The study of the architectural features in Xiangxiang Dongshan College is beneficial for the understanding of the Chinese traditional culture and the local architectural feature, and helps to maintain, inherit and develop the traditional culture and ancient traditional architecture. |
