Abstract:restrain end effect in Hilbert-Huang transformation (HHT) of vibration signal, considering the mechanism of the end effect and the current research development, a time scale-based LS-SVM end extension method is proposed. Firstly, by employing LS-SVM regression and a new adaptive prediction method, prediction extensions of the amplitude and time of the extremums are carried out respectively, and then with Hermite interpolation of the predicted extremums information implemented, original signal expansion is accomplished. Analysis and validation of simulation and measured aeroengine vibration signals show that the method proposed can effectively restrain the two end effects simultaneously and is of high prediction precision, long effective extension length and high expansion speed.
