It is challenging for flexible solid‐state hybrid capacitors to achieve high‐energy‐high‐power densities in both Li‐ion and Na‐ion systems, and the kinetics discrepancy between the sluggish faradaic anode and the rapid capacitive cathode is the most critical issue needs to be addressed. To improve Li‐ion/Na‐ion diffusion kinetics, flexible oxygen‐deficient TiO2?x/CNT composite film with ultrafast electron/ion transport network is constructed as self‐supported and light‐weight anode for a quasi‐solid‐state hybrid capacitor. It is found that the designed porous yolk–shell structure endows large surface area and provides short diffusion length, the oxygen‐deficient composite film can improve electrical conductivity, and enhance ion diffusion kinetic by introducing intercalation pseudocapacitance, therefore resulting in advance electrochemical properties. It exhibits high capacity, excellent rate performance, and long cycle life when utilized as self‐supported anodes for Li‐ion and Na‐ion batteries. When assembled with activated carbon/carbon nanotube (AC/CNT) flexible cathode, using ion conducting gel polymer as the electrolyte, high energy densities of 104 and 109 Wh kg?1 are achieved at 250 W kg?1 in quasi‐solid‐state Li‐ion and Na‐ion capacitors (LICs and SICs), respectively. Still, energy densities of 32 and 36 Wh kg?1 can be maintained at high power densities of 5000 W kg?1 in LICs and SICs.  相似文献

In response to the call for safer high‐energy‐density storage systems, high‐voltage solid‐state Li metal batteries have attracted extensive attention. Therefore, solid electrolytes are required to be stable against both Li anode and high‐voltage cathodes; nevertheless, the requirements still cannot be completely satisfied. Herein, a heterogeneous multilayered solid electrolyte (HMSE) is proposed to broaden electrochemical window of solid electrolytes to 0–5 V, through different electrode/electrolyte interfaces to overcome the interfacial instability problems. Oxidation‐resistance poly(acrylonitrile) (PAN) is in contact with the cathode, while reduction tolerant polyethylene glycol diacrylate contacts with Li metal anode. A Janus and flexible PAN@Li1.4Al0.4Ge1.6(PO4)3 (80 wt%) composite electrolyte is designed as intermediate layer to inhibit dendrite penetration and ensure compact interface. Paired with LiNi0.6Co0.2Mn0.2O2 and LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathodes, which are rarely used in solid‐state batteries, the solid‐state Li metal batteries with HMSE exhibit excellent electrochemical performance including high capacity and long cycle life. Besides, the Li||Li symmetric batteries maintain a stable polarization less than 40 mV for more than 1000 h under 2 mA cm?2 and effective inhibition of dendrite formation. This study offers a promising approach to extend the applications of solid electrolytes for high‐voltage solid‐state Li metal batteries.  相似文献

Rechargeable lithium (Li) metal batteries (LMBs) with ultrahigh-nickel (Ni) layered oxide cathodes offer a great opportunity for applications in electrical vehicles. However, increasing Ni content inherently arouses a tradeoff between specific capacity and electrochemical cyclability due to the aggressive side reactions with electrolyte contributed by the highly reactive Ni species. Here, a protective and stable cathode/electrolyte interphase featuring enriched and evenly-distributed LiF is in situ formed on ultrahigh-Ni cathode LiNi0.94Co0.06O2 (NC) with an advanced ether-based localized high-concentration electrolyte (LHCE), which concurrently shows good compatibility with Li metal anode. Subsequently, the NC cathode can deliver high capacity retentions of 81.4% after 500 cycles at 25 °C and 91.6% after 100 cycles at 60 °C in the voltage range of 2.8–4.4 V in Li||NC cells at 1C cycling rate (1.5 mA cm−2). Meanwhile, the conductive electrode/electrolyte interphases formed in LHCE enable a high reversible capacity of about 209 mAh g−1 at 3C charging rate. This work provides an effective approach and important insight from the perspective of in situ ultrahigh-Ni cathode/electrolyte interphase protection for high energy–density, long-lasting LMBs.  相似文献

Solid-state lithium (Li)-metal batteries (LMBs) are garnering attention as a next-generation battery technology that can surpass conventional Li-ion batteries in terms of energy density and operational safety under the condition that the issue of uncontrolled Li dendrite is resolved. In this study, various plastic crystal-embedded elastomer electrolytes (PCEEs) are investigated with different phase-separated structures, prepared by systematically adjusting the volume ratio of the phases, to elucidate the structure-property-electrochemical performance relationship of the PCEE in the LMBs. At an optimal volume ratio of elastomer phase to plastic-crystal phase (i.e., 1:1), bicontinuous-structured PCEE, consisting of efficient ion-conducting, plastic-crystal pathways with long-range connectivity within a crosslinked elastomer matrix, exhibits exceptionally high ionic conductivity (≈10−3 S cm−1) at 20 °C and excellent mechanical resilience (elongation at break ≈ 300%). A full cell featuring this optimized PCEE, a 35 µm thick Li anode, and a high loading LiNi0.83Mn0.06Co0.11O2 (NMC-83) cathode delivers a high energy density of 437 Wh kganode+cathode+electrolyte−1. The established structure–property–electrochemical performance relationship of the PCEE for solid-state LMBs is expected to inform the development of the elastomeric electrolytes for various electrochemical energy systems.  相似文献

A novel hybrid Li‐ion capacitor (LIC) with high energy and power densities is constructed by combining an electrochemical double layer capacitor type cathode (graphene hydrogels) with a Li‐ion battery type anode (TiO2 nanobelt arrays). The high power source is provided by the graphene hydrogel cathode, which has a 3D porous network structure and high electrical conductivity, and the counter anode is made of free‐standing TiO2 nanobelt arrays (NBA) grown directly on Ti foil without any ancillary materials. Such a subtle designed hybrid Li‐ion capacitor allows rapid electron and ion transport in the non‐aqueous electrolyte. Within a voltage range of 0.0?3.8 V, a high energy of 82 Wh kg?1 is achieved at a power density of 570 W kg?1. Even at an 8.4 s charge/discharge rate, an energy density as high as 21 Wh kg?1 can be retained. These results demonstrate that the TiO2 NBA//graphene hydrogel LIC exhibits higher energy density than supercapacitors and better power density than Li‐ion batteries, which makes it a promising electrochemical power source.  相似文献

Aqueous rechargeable Zn/birnessite batteries have recently attracted extensive attention for energy storage system because of their low cost and high safety. However, the reaction mechanism of the birnessite cathode in aqueous electrolytes and the cathode structure degradation mechanics still remain elusive and controversial. In this work, it is found that solvation water molecules coordinated to Zn2+ are coinserted into birnessite lattice structure contributing to Zn2+ diffusion. However, the birnessite will suffer from hydroxylation and Mn dissolution with too much solvated water coinsertion. Through engineering Zn2+ primary solvation sheath with strong‐field ligand in aqueous electrolyte, highly reversible [Zn(H2O)2]2+ complex intercalation/extraction into/from birnessite cathode is obtained. Cathode–electrolyte interface suppressing the Mn dissolution also forms. The Zn metal anode also shows high reversibility without formation of “death‐zinc” and detrimental dendrite. A full cell coupled with birnessite cathode and Zn metal anode delivers a discharge capacity of 270 mAh g?1, a high energy density of 280 Wh kg?1 (based on total mass of cathode and anode active materials), and capacity retention of 90% over 5000 cycles.  相似文献

Solid-electrolyte-based molten-metal batteries have attracted considerable attention for grid-scale energy storage. Although ZEBRA batteries are considered one of the promising candidates, they still have the potential concern of metal particle growth and ion exchange with the β”-Al2O3 electrolyte. Herein, a Li6.4La3Zr1.4Ta0.6O12 solid-electrolyte-based molten lithium−molybdenum−iron(II) chloride battery (denoted as Li−Mo−FeCl2) operated at temperature of 250 °C, comprising a mixture of Fe and LiCl cathode materials, a Li anode, a garnet-type Li-ion ceramic electrolyte, and Mo additive, is designed to overcome these obstacles. Different from conventional battery reaction mechanisms, this battery revolutionarily synchronizes the reversible Fe−Mo alloying−dealloying reactions with the delithiation−lithiation processes, meaning that the porous Mo framework derived from Fe−Mo alloy simultaneously suppresses the growth of pure Fe particles. By adopting a Li anode and a Li-ion ceramic electrolyte, the corrosion problem between the cathode and the solid electrolyte is overcome. With similar battery cost ($12 kWh−1), the theoretical energy density of Li−Mo−FeCl2 battery surpasses that of a Na−FeCl2 ZEBRA battery over 25%, to 576 Wh kg−1 and 2216 Wh L−1, respectively. Experimental results further prove this cell has excellent cycling performance (472 mAh gLiCl−1 after 300 cycles, 50 mg active material) and strong tolerance against the overcharge−overdischarge (3−1.6 V) and freezing−thawing (25−250 °C) incidents.  相似文献

Rechargeable magnesium (Mg) metal batteries are a promising candidate for “post-Li-ion batteries” due to their high capacity, high abundance, and most importantly, highly reversible and dendrite-free Mg metal anode. However, the formation of passivating surface film rather than Mg2+-conducting solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) on Mg anode surface has always restricted the development of rechargeable Mg batteries. A stable SEI is constructed on the surface of Mg metal anode by the partial decomposition of a pristine Li electrolyte in the electrochemical process. This Li electrolyte is easily prepared by dissolving lithium tetrakis(hexafluoroisopropyloxy)borate (Li[B(hfip)4]) in dimethoxyethane. It is noteworthy that Mg2+ can be directly introduced into this Li electrolyte during the initial electrochemical cycles for in situ forming a hybrid Mg2+/Li+ electrolyte, and then the cycled electrolyte can conduct Mg-ion smoothly. The existence of this as-formed SEI blocks the further parasitic reaction of Mg metal anode with electrolyte and enables this electrolyte enduring long-term electrochemical cycles stably. This approach of constructing superior SEI on Mg anode surface and exploiting novel Mg electrolyte provides a new avenue for practical application of high-performance rechargeable Mg batteries.  相似文献

Lithium metal batteries (LMBs) are promising for next-generation high-energy-density batteries owing to the highest specific capacity and the lowest potential of Li metal anode. However, the LMBs are normally confronted with drastic capacity fading under extremely cold conditions mainly due to the freezing issue and sluggish Li+ desolvation process in commercial ethylene carbonate (EC)-based electrolyte at ultra-low temperature (e.g., below −30 °C). To overcome the above challenges, an anti-freezing carboxylic ester of methyl propionate (MP)-based electrolyte with weak Li+ coordination and low-freezing temperature (below −60 °C) is designed, and the corresponding LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NCM811) cathode exhibits a higher discharge capacity of 84.2 mAh g−1 and energy density of 195.0 Wh kg−1cathode than that of the cathode (1.6 mAh g−1 and 3.9 Wh kg−1cathode) working in commercial EC-based electrolytes for NCM811‖ Li cell at −60 °C. Molecular dynamics simulation, Raman spectra, and nuclear magnetic resonance characterizations reveal that rich mobile Li+ and the unique solvation structure with weak Li+ coordination are achieved in MP-based electrolyte, which collectively facilitate the Li+ transference process at low temperature. This work provides fundamental insights into low-temperature electrolytes by regulating solvation structure, and offers the basic guidelines for the design of low-temperature electrolytes for LMBs.  相似文献

All-solid-state sodium metal batteries paired with solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are considered a promising candidate for high energy-density, low-cost, and high-safety energy storage systems. However, the low ionic conductivity and inferior interfacial stability with Na metal anode of SPEs severely hinder their practical applications. Herein, an anion-trapping 3D fiber network enhanced polymer electrolyte (ATFPE) is developed by infusing poly(ethylene oxide) matrix into an electrostatic spun fiber framework loading with an orderly arranged metal-organic framework (MOF). The 3D continuous channel provides a fast Na+ transport path leading to high ionic conductivity, and simultaneously the rich coordinated unsaturated cation sites exposed on MOF can effectively trap anions, thus regulating Na+ concentration distribution for constructing stable electrolyte/Na anode interface. Based on such advantages, the ATFPE exhibits high ionic conductivity and considerable Na+ transference number, as well as enhanced interfacial stability. Consequently, Na/Na symmetric cells using this ATFPE possess cyclability over 600 h at 0.1 mA cm−2 without discernable Na dendrites. Cooperated with Na3V2(PO4)3 cathode, the all-solid-state sodium metal batteries (ASSMBs) demonstrate significantly improved rate and cycle performances, delivering a high discharge capacity of 117.5 mAh g−1 under 0.1 C and rendering high capacity retention of 78.2% after 1000 cycles even at 1 C.  相似文献

Rechargeable lithium metal batteries are next generation energy storage devices with high energy density, but face challenges in achieving high energy density, high safety, and long cycle life. Here, lithium metal batteries in a novel nonflammable ionic-liquid (IL) electrolyte composed of 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium (EMIm) cations and high-concentration bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI) anions, with sodium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (NaTFSI) as a key additive are reported. The Na ion participates in the formation of hybrid passivation interphases and contributes to dendrite-free Li deposition and reversible cathode electrochemistry. The electrolyte of low viscosity allows practically useful cathode mass loading up to ≈16 mg cm−2. Li anodes paired with lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) and lithium nickel cobalt manganese oxide (LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2, NCM 811) cathodes exhibit 99.6–99.9% Coulombic efficiencies, high discharge voltages up to 4.4 V, high specific capacity and energy density up to ≈199 mAh g−1 and ≈765 Wh kg−1 respectively, with impressive cycling performances over up to 1200 cycles. Highly stable passivation interphases formed on both electrodes in the novel IL electrolyte are the key to highly reversible lithium metal batteries, especially for Li–NMC 811 full batteries.  相似文献

The lithium–sulfur (Li–S) battery is regarded as a promising high-energy-density battery system, in which the dissolution–precipitation redox reactions of the S cathode are critical. However, soluble Li polysulfides (LiPSs), as the indispensable intermediates, easily diffuse to the Li anode and react with the Li metal severely, thus depleting the active materials and inducing the rapid failure of the battery, especially under practical conditions. Herein, an organosulfur-containing solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is tailored for the stabilizaiton of the Li anode in Li–S batteries by employing 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)thiophenol as an electrolyte additive. The organosulfur-containing SEI protects the Li anode from the detrimental reactions with LiPSs and decreases its corrosion. Under practical conditions with a high-loading S cathode (4.5 mgS cm−2), a low electrolyte/S ratio (5.0 µL mgS−1), and an ultrathin Li anode (50 µm), a Li–S battery delivers 82 cycles with an organosulfur-containing SEI in comparison to 42 cycles with a routine SEI. This work provokes the vital insights into the role of the organic components of SEI in the protection of the Li anode in practical Li–S batteries.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion hybrid supercapacitors (Na‐HSCs) by virtue of synergizing the merits of batteries and supercapacitors have attracted considerable attention for high‐energy and high‐power energy‐storage applications. Orthorhombic Nb2O5 (T‐Nb2O5) has recently been recognized as a promising anode material for Na‐HSCs due to its typical pseudocapacitive feature, but it suffers from intrinsically low electrical conductivity. Reasonably high electrochemical performance of T‐Nb2O5‐based electrodes could merely be gained to date when sufficient carbon content was introduced. In addition, flexible Na‐HSC devices have scarcely been demonstrated by far. Herein, an in situ encapsulation strategy is devised to directly grow ultrathin graphene shells over T‐Nb2O5 nanowires (denoted as Gr‐Nb2O5 composites) by plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor deposition, targeting a highly conductive anode material for Na‐HSCs. The few‐layered graphene capsules with ample topological defects would enable facile electron and Na+ ion transport, guaranteeing rapid pseudocapacitive processes at the Nb2O5/electrolyte interface. The Na‐HSC full‐cell comprising a Gr‐Nb2O5 anode and an activated carbon cathode delivers high energy/power densities (112.9 Wh kg?1/80.1 W kg?1 and 62.2 Wh kg?1/5330 W kg?1), outperforming those of recently reported Na‐HSC counterparts. Proof‐of‐concept Na‐HSC devices with favorable mechanical robustness manifest stable electrochemical performances under different bending conditions and after various bending–release cycles.  相似文献

The intrinsic advantages of metallic Zn, like high theoretical capacity (820 mAh g−1), high abundance, low toxicity, and high safety have driven the recent booming development of rechargeable Zn batteries. However, the lack of high-voltage electrolyte and cathode materials restricts the cell voltage mostly to below 2 V. Moreover, dendrite formation and the poor rechargeability of the Zn anode hinder the long-term operation of Zn batteries. Here a high-voltage and durable Zn–graphite battery, which is enabled by a LiPF6-containing hybrid electrolyte, is reported. The presence of LiPF6 efficiently suppresses the anodic oxidation of Zn electrolyte and leads to a super-wide electrochemical stability window of 4 V (vs Zn/Zn2+). Both dendrite-free Zn plating/stripping and reversible dual-anion intercalation into the graphite cathode are realized in the hybrid electrolyte. The resultant Zn–graphite battery performs stably at a high voltage of 2.8 V with a record midpoint discharge voltage of 2.2 V. After 2000 cycles at a high charge–discharge rate, high capacity retention of 97.5% is achieved with ≈100% Coulombic efficiency.  相似文献

Li||NMC811 battery, with lithium-metal (high specific capacity and low redox potential) as anode and LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 (NMC811) as cathode, has been widely accepted to be a good candidate as one of the high-energy-density batteries. However, its cyclability needs improvement to fulfill the requirement for its future commercial use, especially under practical conditions. Electrolyte plays a key role in improving the cycling performance of Li||NMC811 batteries, where a high voltage/electrochemical window and good stability with the electrodes of the electrolyte are required. Herein, a localized high-concentration electrolyte with an additive of lithium difluoro(oxalate)borate (LiDFOB) is reported that improves the cycling performance of Li||NMC811 cells under crucial conditions with Li foil thickness of 50 µm, cathode areal loading of 4 mAh cm−2, the areal capacity ratio between the negative and positive electrodes (N/P ratio) of 2.6 and the electrolyte/cell capacity ratio (E/C ratio) of 3.0 g (Ah)−1. These cells can maintain 80% of the capacity after 195 cycles.  相似文献

Sodium metal anode, featuring high capacity, low voltage and earth abundance, is desirable for building advanced sodium‐metal batteries. However, Na‐ion deposition typically leads to morphological instability and notorious chemical reactivity between sodium and common electrolytes still limit its practical application. In this study, a porous BN nanofibers modified sodium metal (BN/Na) electrode is introduced for enhancing Na‐ion deposition dynamics and stability. As a result, symmetrical BN/Na cells enable an impressive rate capability and markedly enhanced cycling durability over 600 h at 10 mA cm?2. Density functional theory simulations demonstrate BN could effectively improve Na‐ion adsorption and diffusion kinetics simultaneously. Finite element simulation clearly reveals the intrinsic smoothing effect of BN upon multiple Na‐ion plating/stripping cycles. Coupled with a Na3V2O2(PO4)2F/Ti3C2X cathode, sodium metal full cells offer an ultrastable capacity of 125/63 mA h g?1 (≈420/240 Wh kg?1) at 0.05/5 C rate over 500 cycles. These comprehensive analyses demonstrate the feasibility of BN/Na anode for the establishment of high‐energy‐density sodium‐metal full batteries.  相似文献

Solid-state batteries enabled by solid-state polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are under active consideration for their promise as cost-effective platforms that simultaneously support high-energy and safe electrochemical energy storage. The limited oxidative stability and poor interfacial charge transport in conventional polymer electrolytes are well known, but difficult challenges must be addressed if high-voltage intercalating cathodes are to be used in such batteries. Here, ether-based electrolytes are in situ polymerized by a ring-opening reaction in the presence of aluminum fluoride (AlF3) to create SPEs inside LiNi0.6Co0.2 Mn0.2O2 (NCM) || Li batteries that are able to overcome both challenges. AlF3 plays a dual role as a Lewis acid catalyst and for the building of fluoridized cathode–electrolyte interphases, protecting both the electrolyte and aluminum current collector from degradation reactions. The solid-state NCM || Li metal batteries exhibit enhanced specific capacity of 153 mAh g−1 under high areal capacity of 3.0 mAh cm−2. This work offers an important pathway toward solid-state polymer electrolytes for high-voltage solid-state batteries.  相似文献

Prelithiating cathode is considered as one of the most promising lithium compensation strategies for practical high energy density batteries. Whereas most of reported cathode lithium compensation agents are deficient owing to their poor air-stability, residual insulating solid, or formidable Li-extracting barrier. Here, this work proposes molecularly engineered 4-Fluoro-1,2-dihydroxybenzene Li salt (LiDF) with high specific capacity (382.7 mAh g−1) and appropriate delithiation potential (3.6–4.2 V) as an air-stable cathode Li compensation agent. More importantly, the charged residue 4-Fluoro-1,2-benzoquinone (BQF) can synergistically work as an electrode/electrolyte interface forming additive to build uniform and robust LiF-riched cathode/anode electrolyte interfaces (CEI/SEI). Consequently, less Li loss and retrained electrolyte decomposition are achieved. With 2 wt% 4-Fluoro-1,2-dihydroxybenzene Li salt initially blended within the cathode, 1.3 Ah pouch cells with NCM (Ni92) cathode and SiO/C (550 mAh g−1) anode can keep 91% capacity retention after 350 cycles at 1 C rate. Moreover, the anode free of NCM622+LiDF||Cu cell achieves 78% capacity retention after 100 cycles with the addition of 15 wt% LiDF. This work provides a feasible sight for the rational designing Li compensation agent at molecular level to realize high energy density batteries.  相似文献

In this work, combining both advantages of potassium‐ion batteries and dual‐ion batteries, a novel potassium‐ion‐based dual‐ion battery (named as K‐DIB) system is developed based on a potassium‐ion electrolyte, using metal foil (Sn, Pb, K, or Na) as anode and expanded graphite as cathode. When using Sn foil as the anode, the K‐DIB presents a high reversible capacity of 66 mAh g?1 at a current density of 50 mA g?1 over the voltage window of 3.0–5.0 V, and exhibits excellent long‐term cycling performance with 93% capacity retention for 300 cycles. Moreover, as the Sn foil simultaneously acts as the anode material and the current collector, dead load and dead volume of the battery can be greatly reduced, thus the energy density of the K‐DIB is further improved. It delivers a high energy density of 155 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 116 W kg?1, which is comparable with commercial lithium‐ion batteries. Thus, with the advantages of environmentally friendly, cost effective, and high energy density, this K‐DIB shows attractive potential for future energy storage application.  相似文献
