自动机的重置序列也称为同步序列,具有以下特性:有限自动机通过运行重置序列w,可从任意一个未知的或无法观测到的状态q0到达某个特定状态qw.这仅依赖于w,而与开始运行w时的状态q0无关.这一特性可用于部分可观察的复杂系统的自动恢复,而无需重启,甚至有时不能重启.基于此,重置问题自出现以来便得到关注和持续研究.最近几年,它被扩展到可以描述诸如分布式、嵌入式实时系统等复杂系统的无限状态模型上,比如时间自动机和寄存器自动机等.以时间自动机的重置问题的计算复杂性为研究对象,发现重置问题与可达性问题有着紧密的联系.主要贡献是:(1)利用时间自动机可达性问题的最新成果,完善完全的确定的时间自动机重置问题的计算复杂性结论;(2)对部分规约的确定的时间自动机,研究得出,即使在输入字母表大小减至2的情况下,其复杂性仍是PSPACE-完全的;特别地,在单时钟情况下是NLOGSPACE-完全的;(3)对完全的非确定的时间自动机,研究得出其Di-可重置问题(i=1,2,3)是不可判定的,其重置问题与非确定的寄存器自动机重置问题在指数时间可以相互归约,通过证明指数时间归约相对高复杂性类具有封闭性,利用非确定的寄存器自动机的结论得出单时钟的时间自动机的重置问题是Ackermann-完全的、限界的重置问题是NEXPTIME-完全的.这些复杂性结论,说明关于时间自动机的重置问题大都是难解的,一方面,为时间系统的可重置性的检测和求解奠定坚实的理论基础,另一方面,为以后寻找具有高效算法的特殊结构的时间系统(即具有高效算法的问题子类)给予理论指导.  相似文献

Message Sequence Charts (MSCs) provide a way for quick and easily understandable modelling of concurrent systems. Apart from their intuitive semantics easily deduced from their visual syntax, there is a formally defined semantics—Unfortunately, the semantics intuitively assigned to them is sometimes at odds with the formal semantics. In this paper, we will show an alternative approach to the semantics of MSCs, which will enable us to formally model their timed behaviour. Furthermore, we show how some generalizations of ordering events can lead to a language better suited to model real-world requirements. To ease the task of analyzing (High-Level) MSCs, we identify a subclass of those which can be translated into finite (timed of untimed) automata and specify the translation, thus laying the foundation for model checking.  相似文献

We present an approximation technique, that can render real-time model checking of safety and universal path properties more efficient. It is beneficial, when loops lead to repetition of control situations. Basically we augment a timed automata model with carefully selected extra transitions. This increases the size of the state-space, but potentially decreases the number of symbolic states to be explored by orders of magnitude.We give a formal definition of a timed automata formalism, enriched with basic data types, hand-shake synchronization, urgency, and committed locations. We prove by means of a trace semantics, that if a safety property can be established in the augmented model, it also holds for the original model.We extend our technique to a richer set of properties, that can be decided via a set of traces (universal path properties). In order for universal path properties to carry over to the original model, the semantics of the timed automata formalism is formulated relative to the applied augmentation.Our technique is particularly useful in systems, where a scheduler dictates repetition of control over elapsing time. As a typical example we mention translations of LEGO® RCX™ programs to Uppaal models, where the Round-Robin scheduler is a static entity. We allow scheduler and associated tasks to “park”, until some timing or environmental conditions are met.We apply our technique on a brick-sorter model for a safety property and report run-time data.  相似文献

Given a timed automaton M, a linear temporal logic formula φ, and a bound k, bounded model checking for timed automata determines if there is a falsifying path of length k to the hypothesis that M satisfies the specification φ. This problem can be reduced to the satisfiability problem for Boolean constraint formulas over linear arithmetic constraints. We show that bounded model checking for timed automata is complete, and we give lower and upper bounds for the length k of counterexamples. Moreover, we define bounded model checking for networks of timed automata in a compositional way.  相似文献

Timed automata are a popular formalism to model real-time systems. They were introduced two decades ago to support formal verification. Since then they have also been used for other purposes and a large number of variants has been introduced to be able to deal with the many different kinds of requirements of real-time system development. This survey attempts to introduce a massive and complicated theoretical research area to a reader in an easy and compact manner. One objective of this paper is to inform a reader about the theoretical properties (or capabilities) of timed automata which are (or might be) useful for real-time model driven development. To achieve this goal, this paper presents a survey on semantics, decision problems, and variants of timed automata. The other objective of this paper is to inform a reader about the current state of the art of timed automata in practice. To achieve the second aim, this article presents a survey on timed automata’s implementability and tools.  相似文献

We present a model, task automata, for real time systems with non-uniformly recurring computation tasks. It is an extended version of timed automata with asynchronous processes that are computation tasks generated (or triggered) by timed events. Compared with classical task models for real time systems, task automata may be used to describe tasks (1) that are generated non-deterministically according to timing constraints in timed automata, (2) that may have interval execution times representing the best case and the worst case execution times, and (3) whose completion times may influence the releases of task instances. We generalize the classical notion of schedulability to task automata. A task automaton is schedulable if there exists a scheduling strategy such that all possible sequences of events generated by the automaton are schedulable in the sense that all associated tasks can be computed within their deadlines. Our first technical result is that the schedulability for a given scheduling strategy can be checked algorithmically for the class of task automata when the best case and the worst case execution times of tasks are equal. The proof is based on a decidable class of suspension automata: timed automata with bounded subtraction in which clocks may be updated by subtractions within a bounded zone. We shall also study the borderline between decidable and undecidable cases. Our second technical result shows that the schedulability checking problem will be undecidable if the following three conditions hold: (1) the execution times of tasks are intervals, (2) the precise finishing time of a task instance may influence new task releases, and (3) a task is allowed to preempt another running task.  相似文献

In previous work we have developed a syntactic reduction of repeated reachability to reachability for finite state systems. This may lead to simpler and more uniform proofs for model checking of liveness properties, help to find shortest counterexamples, and overcome limitations of closed-source model-checking tools. In this paper we show that a similar reduction can be applied to a number of infinite state systems, namely, (ω−)regular model checking, push-down systems, and timed automata.  相似文献

In this paper we concentrate on aspects related to modeling and formal verification of embedded systems. First, we define a formal model of computation for embedded systems based on Petri nets that can capture important features of such systems and allows their representation at different levels of granularity. Our modeling formalism has a well-defined semantics so that it supports a precise representation of the system, the use of formal methods to verify its correctness, and the automation of different tasks along the design process. Second, we propose an approach to the problem of formal verification of embedded systems represented in our modeling formalism. We make use of model checking to prove whether certain properties, expressed as temporal logic formulas, hold with respect to the system model. We introduce a systematic procedure to translate our model into timed automata so that it is possible to use available model checking tools. We propose two strategies for improving the verification efficiency, the first by applying correctness-preserving transformations and the second by exploring the degree of parallelism characteristic to the system. Some examples, including a realistic industrial case, demonstrate the efficiency of our approach on practical applications.  相似文献

基于模型的嵌入式系统安全性分析与验证方法是近年来在安全攸关系统工程领域中出现的一个重要研究热点。提出一种基于模型驱动架构的面向SysML/MARTE状态机的系统安全性验证方法,具体包括:构建了具备SysML/MARTE扩展语义的状态机元模型,以及安全性建模与分析语言AltaRica的语义模型GTS的元模型;然后建立了从SysML/MARTE状态机模型分别到时间自动机模型以及AltaRica模型的语义映射模型转换规则,并基于AMMA平台和时间自动机验证工具UPPAAL设计实现了对SysML/MARTE状态机的模型转换与系统安全性形式化验证的框架。最后给出了一个飞机着陆控制系统设计模型的安全性验证实例分析。  相似文献

This work is concerned with modelling, analysis and implementation of embedded control systems using RT-DEVS, i.e. a specialization of classic discrete event system specification (DEVS) for real-time. RT-DEVS favours model continuity, i.e. the possibility of using the same model for property analysis (by simulation or model checking) and for real time execution. Special case tools are reported in the literature for RT-DEVS model analysis and design. In this work, temporal analysis of a model exploits a translation in Uppaal timed automata for exhaustive verification. For large models a simulator was realized in Java which directly stems from RT-DEVS operational semantics. The same concerns are at the basis of a real-time executive. The paper describes the proposed RT-DEVS development methodology and clarifies its implementation status. The approach is demonstrated by applying it to an embedded system example which is analyzed through model checking and implemented in Java. Finally, research directions which deserve further work are indicated.  相似文献

Real-time discrete event systems are discrete event systems with timing constraints, and can be modeled by timed automata. The latter are convenient for modeling real-time discrete event systems. However, due to their infinite state space, timed automata are not suitable for studying real-time discrete event systems. On the other hand, finite state automata, as the name suggests, are convenient for modeling and studying non-real time discrete event systems. To take into account the advantages of finite state automata, an approach for studying real-time discrete event systems is to transform, by abstraction, the timed automata modeling them into finite state automata which describe the same behaviors. Then, studies are performed on the finite state automata model by adapting methods designed for non real-time discrete event systems. In this paper, we present a method for transforming timed automata into special finite state automata called Set-Exp automata. The method, called SetExp, models the passing of time as real events in two types: Set events which correspond to resets with programming of clocks, and Exp events which correspond to the expiration of clocks. These events allow to express the timing constraints as events order constraints. SetExp limits the state space explosion problem in comparison to other transformation methods of timed automata, notably when the magnitude of the constants used to express the timing constraints are high. Moreover, SetExp is suitable, for example, in supervisory control and conformance testing of real-time discrete event systems.  相似文献

The actor-based language, Timed Rebeca, was introduced to model distributed and asynchronous systems with timing constraints and message passing communication. A toolset was developed for automated translation of Timed Rebeca models to Erlang. The translated code can be executed using a timed extension of McErlang for model checking and simulation. In this work, we added a new toolset that provides statistical model checking of Timed Rebeca models. Using statistical model checking, we are now able to verify larger models against safety properties compared to McErlang model checking. We examine the typical case studies of elevators and ticket service to show the efficiency of statistical model checking and applicability of our toolset.  相似文献

UML is a widely-used,general purpose modeling language.But its lack of a rigorous semantics forbids the thorough analysis of designed solution,and thus precludes the discovery of significant problems at design time.To bridge the gap,the paper investigates the underlying semantics of UML state machine diagrams,along with the time-related modeling elements of MARTE,the profile for modeling and analysis of real-time embedded systems,and proposes a formal operational semantics based on extended hierarchical timed automata.The approach is exemplified on a simple example taken from the automotive domain.Verification is accomplished by translating designed models into the input language of the UPPAAL model checker.  相似文献

Different time scales do often occur in real-time systems, e.g., a polling real-time system samples the environment many times per second, whereas the environment may only change a few times per second. When these systems are modeled as (networks of) timed automata, the validation using symbolic model checking techniques can significantly be slowed down by unnecessary fragmentation of the symbolic state space. This paper introduces a syntactical adjustment to a subset of timed automata that addresses this fragmentation problem and that can speed-up forward symbolic reachability analysis in a significant way. We prove that this syntactical adjustment does not alter reachability properties and that it indeed is effective. We illustrate our exact acceleration technique with run-time data obtained with the model checkers Uppaal and Kronos. Moreover, we demonstrate that automated application of our exact acceleration technique can significantly speed-up the verification of the run-time behavior of LEGO Mindstorms programs.  相似文献

Behavior Trees are a graphical notation used for formalising functional requirements, and have been successfully applied to several industrial case studies. However, the standard notation does not support the concept of time, and consequently its application is limited to non-real-time systems. To overcome this limitation we extend the notation to timed Behavior Trees. We provide an operational semantics which is based on timed automata, and thus serves as a formal basis for the translation of timed Behavior Trees into the input notation of the timed model checker UPPAAL. System-level timing properties of a Behavior Tree model can then be automatically verified using UPPAAL. Based on the notational extensions with model checking support, we introduce timed Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, a process for identifying cause-consequence relationships between component failures and system hazards in real-time safety critical systems.  相似文献
