A novel ternary layered ceramic of Y3Si2C2 was successfully in-situ synthesized on the surface of home-made third-generation KD-SA SiC fiber for the first time by molten salt method aimed at improving the electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption. After in-situ synthesis of Y3Si2C2 ceramic layer on SiC fiber (SiCf/Y3Si2C2), significantly improved EMW absorption performance was obtained. The minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of ?16.97 dB was reached in SiCf/Y3Si2C2 composites at the thickness of only 2.19 mm, and the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) was up to 5.44 GHz (12.56–18 GHz) at a thin thickness of 2.64 mm. The improvement in EMW absorption of SiCf/Y3Si2C2 is mainly attributed to enhanced dielectric loss and conduction loss resulting from increased heterogeneous interfaces and multiple reflections and scattering originating from net structure. The SiCf/Y3Si2C2 could be a promising EMW absorber for application in high-performance EMW absorbing materials.  相似文献

The SiCN(Fe) fibers with excellent one-dimensional microstructure and electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption performance were synthesized by combining polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs) method and electrospinning. The in-situ generation of Fe3Si and CNTs by adding ferric acetylacetonate (FA) into the raw materials effectively improved the dielectric properties, magnetic properties and the impedance matching performance of the SiCN(Fe) fibers. The EMW absorption performance of SiCN(Fe) fibers were mainly based on dipole polarization loss, interface polarization loss and eddy current loss. The RLmin value of SiCN(Fe) fibers reached ?47.64 dB at 1.38 mm and the effective absorption band (EAB, RL ≤ ?10 dB) reached 4.28 GHz (13.72–18 GHz, 1.35 mm).  相似文献

It is a great challenge in promoting a microwave absorber with excellent absorbing properties in the low-frequency region. Herein, SiC fibers (SiCf) coated by a bilayer of FeNi/C (SiCf/FeNi/C) are fabricated via a two-step magnetron sputtering method. Owing to the improved dielectric loss, magnetic loss, and impedance matching, the reflection loss of SiCf/FeNi/C is remarkably enhanced. Accordingly, the minimum reflection loss of SiCf/FeNi/C reaches ?26.18 dB at a low-frequency region of 3.44 GHz. Besides, the mechanic strength of SiCf/FeNi/C maintains at 2.32 GPa as compared to as-received SiCf. Thus, SiCf/FeNi/C is expected to be an ideal structure material to meet low-frequency microwave absorption requests.  相似文献

The employment of coating technique on the silicon carbide fibers plays a pivotal role in preparing SiC fiber-reinforced SiC composites (SiCf/SiC) toward electromagnetic wave absorption applications. In this work, SiC nanowires (SiCNWs) are successfully deposited onto the pyrolytic carbon (PyC) coated SiC fibers by an electrophoretic deposition method, and subsequently densified by chemical vapor infiltration to obtain SiCNWs/PyC-SiCf/SiC composites. The results reveal that the introduction of SiCNWs could markedly enhance the microwave absorption properties of PyC-SiCf/SiC composites. Owing to the increasing of SiCNWs loading, the minimum reflection loss of composites raises up to −58.5 dB in the SiCNWs/PyC-SiCf/SiC composites with an effective absorption bandwidth (reflection loss ≤ −10 dB) of 6.13 GHz. The remarkable enhancement of electromagnetic wave absorption performances is mainly attributed to the improved dielectric loss ability, impedance matching and multiple reflections. This work provides a novel strategy in preparing SiCf/SiC composites with excellent electromagnetic wave absorption properties.  相似文献

Ti3SiC2, as ternary layered ceramic with good electrical and thermal conductivity, has great application potential in the field of absorbing materials. Absorbing materials are also increasingly required to be lightweight, ultrathin, and flexible. Herein, Ti3SiC2/poly (TEP, DOP and PVB) composite film was biomimetically designed and fabricated by type casting process. As-fabricated composite film with 38% content of Ti3SiC2 was only 1.62 mm in thickness but exhibited excellent absorbing performance. The maximum reflection loss value of Ti3SiC2-based films was as high as −38.41dB and absorption bandwidth below −10 dB was 2.480 GHz. Polymer matrix wrapped around Ti3SiC2 not only enhanced the flexibility of the film, but also regulated its impedance matching and complex dielectric constant compared with pure Ti3SiC2. Superior wave absorption and flexibility imply excellent potential of this Ti3SiC2-based composite film for eliminating electromagnetic interference.  相似文献

The potential of two-dimensional layered MXenes in electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption needs further development. Herein, we carried out the in situ growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) on the surface of Ti3C2Tx MXene at ultra-low temperature via chemical vapor deposition. The obtained CNTs exhibited a bamboo-like structure and were accompanied by helical carbon nanofibers. The ultra-low temperature solved the problem that the high temperature required in the traditional CNT growth process would destroy the structural integrity of MXene. The lush CNT forest cross-linked the MXene layers, transforming the two-dimensional layered structure into a three-dimensional conductive network, providing abundant conductive channels for carriers, optimizing the impedance matching of the CNT/MXene hybrid, and resulting in a significant dielectric loss. The as-prepared CNT/MXene hybrid exhibited a minimal reflection loss of ?52.56 dB (99.9994% EMW absorption) in the X-band. This work proposes a new idea to enhance the EMW absorption properties of Ti3C2Tx MXene and fabricate high-performance MXene-based EMW absorbers.  相似文献

Rational multicomponent regulation and microstructure design have proven to be effective strategies for achieving high performance electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbers. Herein, the ultralight hierarchically porous SiC/SiO2 aerogels (HPSA) were successfully synthesized by an ingenious one-step method to achieve carbonization and carbothermal reduction. The composition of the HPSA and the quantity of SiC/SiO2 fibers grown by in situ reaction can be controlled by adjusting the amount of silicon source introduced. The results indicate that the composition of HPSA and the quantity of fibers have a significant effect on the EMW absorption properties. When the introduced silicon source concentration was 0.7 mol/L, the HPSA exhibited excellent EMW absorption performance, with a minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of -55.01 dB at 6.00 GHz and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth (EABmax) of 6.16 GHz. The highly interconnected porous SiC/SiO2 skeleton structure significantly contributes to the multiple reflection-absorption effect of EMW and provides available pathways for electron conduction losses. The in situ reaction generates SiC/SiO2 fibers with a large number of stacking faults and heterojunctions, which further promote the dissipation of EMW. In addition, the maximum radar cross section of HPSA under far-field conditions is reduced to 20.21 dB m2 compared to the PEC conductive layer, which implies a much lower probability of detection by radar. In brief, this work provides a reference for the use of highly efficient EMW absorbers and electromagnetic stealth materials.  相似文献

In this study, SiC interphase was prepared via a precursor infiltration-pyrolysis process, and effects of dipping concentrations on the mechanical, high-temperature dielectric and microwave absorption properties of the SiCf/SiC/Mu composites had been investigated. Results indicated that different dipping concentrations influenced ultimate interfacial morphology. The SiC interphase prepared with 5 wt% PCS/xylene solution was smooth and homogeneous, and no bridging between the fiber monofilament could be observed. At the same time, SiC interphase prepared with 5 wt% PCS/xylene solution had significantly improved mechanical properties of the composite. In particular, the flexural strength of the composite prepared with 5 wt% PCS/xylene solution reached 281 MPa. Both ε′ and ε′′ of the SiCf/SiC/Mu composites were enhanced after preparing SiC interphase at room temperature. The SiCf/SiC/Mu composite prepared with 5 wt% PCS/xylene solution showed the maximum dielectric loss value of 0.38 at 10 GHz. Under the dual action of polarization mechanism and conductance loss, both ε′ and ε′′ of the SiCf/SiC/Mu composites enhanced as the temperature increased. At 700 °C, the corresponding bandwidth (RL ≤ ?5 dB) of SiCf/SiC/Mu composites prepared with 5 wt% PCS/xylene solution can reach 3.3 GHz at 2.6 mm. The SiCf/SiC/Mu composite with SiC interphase prepared with 5 wt% PCS/xylene solution is expected to be an excellent structural-functional material.  相似文献

Electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing materials have been widely applied in the fields of military and engineering areas. It is of great significance to develop high-performance EMW absorbing materials. This work assembled the sandwich-like Ti3C2Tx based nanocomposites by the microwave-assisted annealing of CoFe-MOF@Ti3C2Tx (CFMF@Ti3C2Tx) precursors at different temperatures. Results show that, as the heat treatment temperature is 450 °C, the sandwich-like Ti3C2Tx@CoFe@TiO2 nanocomposites present better EMW absorption properties. The minimum reflection loss (RL) value was ?62.9 dB at 17.95 GHz with a thin thickness of 1.2 mm. Moreover, the effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) value was 5.02 GHz (12.74–17.76 GHz) with a thickness of 1.4 mm. The application of microwave-assisted annealing contributed to the formation of CoFe nanoparticles and TiO2 nanoparticles because of the ultra-fast heating rate. The introduction of the nanoparticles enhanced the multiple polarization, optimized the impedance matching and introduced magnetic loss, leading to the improvement of EMW absorption. When the annealing temperature further increased to 550 °C, the EMW absorbing performance was weakened, which was mainly correlated with the decrement of the interface area due to the increase of the TiO2 nanoparticle size and CoFe nanoparticle size. Thus, the loss effect of the multiple interface polarization weakens in the EMW absorption. In addition, the high permittivity of Ti3C2Tx disappears, which deteriorated the impedance matching and attenuation ability of EMW. Ultimately, sandwich-like Ti3C2Tx@CoFe@TiO2 nanocomposite with satisfactory EMW absorbing properties is established, promising for various EMW absorbing applications.  相似文献

High-temperature structural electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials are increasing in demand because they can simultaneously possess the functions of mechanical load-bearing, heatproof, and EMW absorption. Herein, SiCf/Si–O–C composites were prepared by precursor impregnation pyrolysis using continuous SiC fibers needled felt as reinforcement and polysiloxane as a precursor, respectively. The phase composition, microstructure, complex permittivity, and EMW absorption properties of SiCf/Si–O–C composites after annealing at various temperatures were investigated. The annealing at 1400–1500°C affects positively the EMW absorption performance of the composites, because the β-SiC microcrystals and SiC nanowires were generated by the activation of carbothermal reduction reaction in the composites, and the aspect ratio of SiC nanowires increased with the rise of temperature. The composites exhibit optimal EMW absorption performance, with the effective absorption bandwidth covering the entire X-band and the minimum reflection loss (RLmin) of −32.8 dB at 4.0 mm when the annealing temperature is raised to 1500°C. This is because that the impedance matching is improved as the rising of ε′ and decreasing of ε″ due to the conversion of free carbon in the composite into SiC nanowires.  相似文献

The development of electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption materials with lightweight, wide absorption bandwidth, thin thickness, and strong EMW absorption performance has become a hotspot. Herein, the morphology-controlled preparation of α-manganese dioxide (α-MnO2) was successfully obtained via a facile hydrothermal method, and the EMW absorption performance of α-MnO2 was investigated in detail. The results indicated the as-obtained Mn-1.0-120 possessed the best EMW absorption performance with minimum reflection loss of −53.43 dB at about 5.2 GHz with a thickness of 4.1 mm originated from the synergistic effects of multiply scattering, dielectric loss, and magnetic loss. This contribution demonstrates that the MnO2 has promising candidates with a tunable EMW absorption performance for applications in the electromagnetic field in the future.  相似文献

It is difficult for ceramic matrix composites to combine good electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption properties (reflection coefficient, RC less than -7 dB in X band) and good mechanical properties (flexural strength more than 300 MPa and fracture toughness more than 10 M P·m1/2). To solve this problem, two kinds of wave-absorbing SiC fibers reinforced Si3N4 matrix composites (SiCf/Si3N4) were designed and fabricated via chemical vapor infiltration technique. Effects of conductivity on EM wave absorbing properties and fiber/matrix bonding strength on mechanical properties were studied. The SiCf/Si3N4 composite, having a relatively low conductivity (its conduction loss is about 33% of the total dielectric loss) has good EMW absorption properties, i.e. a relative complex permittivity of about 9.2-j6.4 at 10 GHz and an RC lower than ?7.2 dB in the whole X band. Its low relative complex permittivity matches impedances between composites and air better, and its strong polarization relaxation loss ability help it to absorb more EM wave energy. Moreover, with a suitably strong fiber/matrix bonding strength, the composite can transfer load more effectively from matrix to fibers, resulting in a higher flexural strength (380 MPa) and fracture toughness (12.9 MPa?m1/2).  相似文献

Because of outstanding performances of the SiC fiber-reinforced ceramic matrix composites in aircraft/aerospace systems, two silicon carbide fiber-reinforced oxide matrices (SiCf/oxides) composites have been prepared by a precursor infiltration and sintering method. Results indicate that the flexural strength of the SiCf/Al2O3–SiO2 composite reaches 159 MPa, whereas that of the SiCf/Al2O3 composite is only 50 MPa. The high-temperature microwave absorption properties of the composite are significantly enhanced due to choosing Al2O3 and SiO2 as the hybrid matrices. Particularly, the minimum reflection loss (RL) value of the SiCf/Al2O3–SiO2 composite reaches −37 dB in the temperature of 200 °C at 8.6 GHz, and the effective absorption bandwidth (RL ≤ −5 dB) is 4.2 GHz (8.2–12.4 GHz) below 400 °C. The superior microwave absorption properties at high temperatures indicate that the SiCf/Al2O3–SiO2 composite has promising applications in civil and military areas. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. The SiC fibers were coated with Ti3SiC2 interphase by dip-coating. The Ti3SiC2 coated fibers were heat-treated from 900 °C to 1100 °C in vacuum and argon atmospheres to comparatively analyze the effect of temperature and atmosphere on the microstructural evolution and mechanical strength of the fibers. The results show that the surface morphology of Ti3SiC2 coating is rough in vacuum and Ti3SiC2 is decomposed at 1100 °C. However, in argon atmosphere, the surface morphology is smooth and Ti3SiC2 is oxidized at 1000 °C and 1100 °C. At 1100 °C, Ti3SiC2 oxidized to form a thin layer of amorphous SiO2 embedded with TiO2 grains. Meanwhile, defects and pores appeared in the interphase scale. As a result, the fiber strength treated in the argon was lower than that treated in vacuum. The porous Ti3SiC2 interphase fabricated under vacuum was then employed to prepare the SiCf/SiC mini composite by chemical vapor infiltration (CVI) combined with precursor infiltration pyrolysis (PIP), and can effectively improve the toughness of SiCf/SiC mini composite. The propagating cracks can be deflected within the porous interphase layer, which promotes fiber pull-outs under the tensile strength.  相似文献

SiC fiber reinforced ceramic matrix composites (SiCf-CMCs) are considered to be one of the most promising materials in the electromagnetic (EM) stealth of aero-engines, which is expected to achieve strong absorption and broad-band performance. Multiscale structural design was applied to SiCf/Si3N4–SiOC composites by construction of micro/nanoscale heterogeneous interfaces and macro double-layer impedance matching structure. SiCf/Si3N4–SiOC composites were fabricated by using SiC fibers with different conductivities and SiOC–Si3N4 matrices with gradient impedance structures to improve impedance matching effectively. Owing to its unique structure, SiCf/Si3N4–SiOC composites (A3-composites) achieved excellent EM wave absorption performance with a minimum reflection coefficient (RCmin) of ?25.1 dB at 2.45 mm and an effective absorption bandwidth (EAB) of 4.0 GHz at 2.85 mm in X-band. Moreover, double-layer SiCf/Si3N4–SiOC with an improved impedance matching structure obtained an RCmin of ?56.9 dB and an EAB of 4.2 GHz at 3.00 mm, which means it can absorb more than 90% of the EM waves in the whole X-band. The RC is less than ?8 dB at 2.6–2.8 mm from RT to 600 °C in the whole X-band, displaying excellent high-temperature absorption performance. The results provide a new design opinion for broad-band EM absorbing SiCf-CMCs at high temperatures.  相似文献

The Si-O-C ceramics were prepared by polymer-derived ceramic method using polysiloxane/FeCl3 as precursor with the FeCl3 content of 1.0 wt%. The microstructure, dielectric properties, and electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorbing properties in X band of the Si-O-C ceramic were investigated. It was found that the pyrolysis temperature has a great influence on the amount of in-situ formed CNTs and the transformation from CNTs to 1D SiC nanostructures. With the temperature rising from 1000 to 1500°C, the SiC formed with various morphologies including SiC microspheres, needle-like SiC, and SiC nanowires which were transformed from CNTs. The EMW absorbing properties were dramatically improved when the pyrolysis temperature raised to 1500°C; the minimum reflection loss (RL) was −58.37 dB of sample with a thickness of 2.95 mm at 10.11 GHz, and the absorbing band (RL ≤−20 dB) of sample at a thickness of 3.0 mm covers 3.8 GHz (8.2-12.0 GHz), which means more than 99% of the EMW were absorbed. The enhancement of EMW absorbing properties of bulk Si-O-C ceramics was attributed to the interfacial polarization induced by in-situ heterogeneous nanostructures with complex interfaces.  相似文献

For wider-band and stronger electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption, macroporous short carbon fibers/mullite matrix (Cf/Mu) composites were prepared via introducing short carbon fibers (0, 0.7, and 1.3 vol%) with length of 2-3 mm into macroporous mullite ceramic by gel-casting. The density of as-prepared Cf/Mu composites decreases from 2.93 g/cm3 to 2.74 g/cm3, while the porosity increases from 3.32% to 10.76% with the rise in carbon fibers content. The diameter of macropores in Cf/Mu composites is ranging from several microns to tens of microns. Complex permittivity and dielectric loss of the prepared composites in X-band (8.2-12.4 GHz) are significantly enhanced with increased carbon fibers content. The best EM wave absorption performance is obtained in the macroporous Cf/Mu composites containing only 0.7 vol% carbon fibers (Cf/Mu-0.7). The maximum absorption loss of Cf/Mu-0.7 is −38.3 dB at 12.08 GHz at the thickness of 2.1 mm, and effective absorption bandwidth below −10 dB (over 90% of EM wave absorption) covers the whole X band with the thickness of 2.35 mm. The results suggest that the Cf/Mu composites can be promising high-performance EM wave absorbing materials.  相似文献

The Cf/Ti3SiC2 composites were fabricated through spark plasma sintering (SPS) and hot isostatic pressing (HIP), TiC coated Cf and Ti3SiC2 powder were used as starting materials. The improved fracture toughness (KIC) and Vickers hardness (HV1) of the TiC coated Cf/Ti3SiC2 composite fabricated by SPS were 7.59 MPa·m1/2 and 7.28 GPa. On this foundation, taking the advantage of better sintering process of HIP, the highest KIC and HV1 achieved 8.32 MPa·m1/2 and 9.24 GPa with fiber content of 10 vol%, which increased by 40% and 65% compared with that of monolithic Ti3SiC2. The reasonable control of reactive interface is the main factor for the improved mechanical properties of the composites, the TiC coating effectively protected the fiber structure from interfacial reaction compared with that of the non-coated Cf/Ti3SiC2. Meanwhile, the artificially designed and weakly bonded TiC coated Cf can fully exert the toughening mechanisms like fiber pull-out and debonding.  相似文献

Polyaniline (PANI)-based networks combined with Fe3O4 hollow spheres and carbon balls (FCP) for improved electromagnetic wave (EMW) absorption were investigated using an easy-to-industrialize solvothermal and physical method. Hollow structure Fe3O4 spheres with a lower density than that of the common solid sphere were prepared. As a thin and light magnetic material, Fe3O4 hollow spheres generate magnetic loss, carbon balls and PANI networks generate dielectric loss. The magnetic and conductive parts play appropriate roles in achieving complementarity in the EMW absorption. The relatively high specific surface area introduced by PANI networks promotes interfacial polarization and further supports dielectric loss. In conclusion, the above reasons provide multiple attenuation mechanisms. Samples FCP1 (?65.109 dB, at 12.800 GHz, 1.966 mm, from 5.6 to 18.0 GHz) and FCP2 (?61.033 dB, at 8.480 GHz, 3.328 mm, from 4.3 to 18.0 GHz) demonstrated a wide bandwidth, a small thickness, a minimum reflection loss (RL), and a low loading ratio (25%) in paraffin-based composites. Specifically, their loading ration of 25% is much lower than the loading ratio of conventional materials (usually 50% and above). In addition, the bandwidth is excessively wide, above 12 GHz, possessing good absorption performance in continuous intervals with different thicknesses. Such excellent characteristics have rarely been reported in literature.  相似文献

The porous SiC–Si3N4 composite ceramics with good EMW absorption properties were prepared by combination of gelcasting and carbothermal reduction. The pre-oxidation of Si3N4 powders significantly improved the rheological properties of slurries (0.06 Pa s at 103.92 s−1) and also suppressed the generation of NH3 and N2 from Si3N4 hydrolysis and reaction between Si3N4 and initiator APS, thereby reducing the pore defects in green bodies and enhancing mechanical properties with a maximum value of 42.88 MPa. With the extension of oxidation time from 0 h to 10 h, the porosity and pore size of porous SiC–Si3N4 composite ceramics increased from approximately 41.86% and 1.0–1.5 μm to 46.33% and ~200 μm due to the production of CO, N2 and gaseous SiO, while the sintering shrinkage decreased from 16.24% to 10.50%. With oxidation time of 2 h, the Si2N2O fibers formed in situ by the reaction of Si3N4 and amorphous SiO2 effectively enhanced the mechanical properties, achieving the highest flexural strength of 129.37 MPa and fracture toughness of 4.25 MPa m1/2. Compared with monolithic Si3N4 ceramics, the electrical conductivity, relative permittivity and dielectric loss were significantly improved by the in-situ introduced PyC from the pyrolysis of three-dimensional network DMAA-MBAM gel in green bodies and the SiC from the carbothermal reduction reaction between PyC and SiO2 and Si3N4. The porous SiC–Si3N4 composite ceramics prepared by the unoxidized Si3N4 powders demonstrated the optimal EMW absorption properties with reflection loss of −22.35 dB at 8.37 GHz and 2 mm thickness, corresponding to the effective bandwidth of 8.20–9.29 GHz, displaying great application potential in EMW absorption fields.  相似文献
