In this paper, a statistical model is developed to predict the driver eye locations in military ground vehicles. The data were taken from a study on soldier driving postures and seating positions. The distribution of eye locations is represented by an “eyellipse”, a geometric construction that approximates the distribution of the eye locations using an ellipse. Eyellipses have been widely used for the design of passenger cars and commercial trucks. The location and dimensions of the soldier eyellipse were developed based on the data from 145 male and female soldiers who selected their preferred driving postures in a range of vehicle layouts presented in a vehicle mockup. Driver eye locations were modeled using regression analysis. The model predicts the distribution of eye locations as a function of vehicle interior layout for a soldier population defined by the gender ratio (fraction male) and the distribution of body dimensions within each gender. This is the first eyellipse model taking into account the effects of protective equipment and body-borne gear. The model has broad applicability to the design of tactical, truck-like vehicles with fixed accelerator heel points. 相似文献

Helmets provide soldiers with ballistic and fragmentation protection but impair auditory spatial processing. Missed auditory information can be fatal for a soldier; therefore, helmet design requires compromise between protection and optimal acoustics. Twelve soldiers localised two sound signals presented from six azimuth angles and three levels of elevation presented at two intensity levels and with three background noises. Each participant completed the task while wearing no helmet and with two U.S. Army infantry helmets – the Personnel Armor System for Ground Troops (PASGT) helmet and the Advanced Combat Helmet (ACH). Results showed a significant effect of helmet type on the size of both azimuth and elevation error. The effects of level, background noise, azimuth and elevation were found to be significant. There was no effect of sound signal type. As hypothesised, localisation accuracy was greatest when soldiers did not wear helmet, followed by the ACH. Performance was worst with the PASGT helmet. 相似文献

随着微处理技术与无线通讯技术的不断发展,无线传感网络的应用逐渐趋于多元化,新的需求不断涌现.例如,单兵作战系统中要求每个士兵都实时掌握其他士兵的位置信息,这称为数据交换问题,即All-to-all通讯模式.已有的研究主要考虑数据收集(All-to-One)和数据分发(One-to-All)这两个方面,这些协议直接用于面向多源多目的的数据交换问题则难以取得较理想的性能.因此,本文提出能量有效的分布式数据交换协议DDET,用于解决传感节点数据请求率不一致的数据交换问题.协议首先收集网络中传感节点的信息,对所有传感节点的本地数据请求率进行排序;其次,在每一轮中,选择数据请求率最大的节点加入到生成树中,使得网络的总能耗最小;最终,利用虚拟减枝法来确定深度最小生成树的树根,以减少网络能耗.实验结果表明,与性能较好的DEIST协议相比,DDRT至少将系统生命期延长了100%,并且节省了3%的系统总能耗. 相似文献
