A Personal Network (PN) is a user-centric design interconnecting numerous devices belonging to a user in different geographic locations, such as home, office, car, etc., to form a single global network to offer fully personalized services. In PNs devices of the user move in different groups, where these groups merge and split. In this paper, we design and simulate a PN Mobility Model (PNMM) to capture the characteristics of movements of devices in PNs. We propose a simple stability evaluation method for group mobility models and apply the method to PNMM. Through the stability evaluation, we find that PNMM possesses long-term steady state behavior. Moreover, for the evaluation of mobility models, some evaluation methods have been proposed, which include non-homogenous node mobility, relative node mobility in a group, and dynamics of group merging and splitting. Analysis shows that PNMM is better than other models to represent the PN mobility properties. In addition, the impact of PNMM on the performance of a PN Clustering Protocol (PNCP) has been studied. Simulation results provide insights into the performance of PNCP, and provide guidelines for future design of PN clustering. PNMM can be easily applied to any Personal Area Network or Body Area Network with slight modifications.  相似文献

The next generation in mobility management will enable different mobile networks to interoperate with each other to ensure terminal and personal mobility and global portability of network services. However, in order to ensure global mobility, the deployment and integration of both satellite and terrestrial components are necessary. This article is focused on issues related to mobility management in a future mobile communications system, in a scenario where a multisegment access network is integrated into an IP core network by exploiting the principles of Mobile IP. In particular, attention is given to the requirements for location, address, and handover management. In a heterogeneous environment, the need to perform handover between access networks imposes particular constraints on the type of information available to the terminal and network. In this case, consideration will need to be given to parameters other than radio characteristics, such as achievable quality of service and user preference. This article proposes a new approach to handover management by applying the fuzzy logic concept to a heterogeneous environment. 个人通信系统(PCS)的智能网络层上每个结点的数据库采用全分布式结构。根据PCS的智能层数据库结构特点以及X.509目录认证架构,提出了一种移动用户登记认证方案。此方案克服了X.509所具有的“静态”特性,使其能够满足PCS用户移动性及终端移动性的要求。在进行用户登记认证的同时,用户与本地的访问网络之间还建立起一个秘密数据。基于这一秘密数据,用户与网络之间可以在呼叫建立阶段进行相互认证。这就避免了现有的移动通信系统(如GSM,IS-41等)呼叫建立阶段的认证受归属网位置登记数据库(HLR)控制的缺陷。因此,用于位置修订和查询的信令负荷大大减小;同时,有关骨干网络(如PSPDN或共路信令网)安全的假定也可以被取消。  相似文献

The fast growing of mobile Internet users with the ability of using a wide diversity of access technologies such as Wi-Fi, WiMAX and UMTS/LTE, and the increasing proliferation of mobile devices with heterogeneous network interfaces, require versatile mobility mechanisms providing seamless roaming across those access technologies. Mobility agents such as Mobile IP and Fast MIPv6 are common, however, these solutions still have limitations when dealing with multiple link-layer technologies. In this context, the emerging standard IEEE 802.21 provides a framework which enables mobile agents and network operators to improve the handover process in heterogeneous networks. In this context, this paper presents and discusses the design and implementation of a mobility-aware solution for an Android device, using the IEEE 802.21 framework. A modified Android user terminal is proposed to improve the handover process, assuming a make-before-break approach. Resorting to an experimental testbed, the obtained results show that the proposed solution is an effective contribution to successfully accomplish seamless mobility of Android-based devices operating in 3G and Wi-Fi networks.  相似文献

在情景感知位置服务中,移动互联网络的开放性使得个人移动数据面临巨大的安全风险,移动数据的时空关联特性对个人数据的隐私保护提出重大挑战.针对基于时空关联的背景知识攻击,本文提出了一种多维的轨迹匿名隐私保护方法.该方法在匿名轨迹数据收集系统的基础上,基于多用户协作的隐私保护模式,通过时间匿名和空间匿名算法,实现用户的隐私保护.实验结果表明,该方法可以有效的对抗基于位置和移动方式的背景知识攻击,满足了k-匿名的隐私保护要求.  相似文献

Users can be served by multiple network-enabled terminal devices, each of which in turn can have multiple network interfaces. This multihoming at both the user and device level presents new opportunities for mobility handling. Mobility can be handled by utilizing devices, namely, middleboxes that can provide intermediary routing or adaptation services. This article presents an approach to enabling this kind of mobility handling using the concept of personal networks (PNs). Personal networks (PNs) consist of dynamic conglomerations of terminal and middlebox devices tasked to facilitate the delivery of information to and from a single human user. This concept creates the potential to view mobility handling as a path selection problem because there may be multiple valid terminal device and middlebox configurations that can successfully carry a given communication session. We present details and an evaluation of our approach, based on an extension of the Host Identity Protocol, which demonstrate its simplicity and effectiveness.  相似文献

网络的融合及终端智能化程度的提高,为个人监控通信的实现提供了条件。借助于M2M技术,软交换网络可以为个人监控通信提供理想的实现平台。基于软交换的网络架构和实现原理,个人监控通信系统可分为网络侧和用户侧两部分。网络侧设备包括软交换机、现场业务中心等,位于核心控制层和业务层;用户侧设备包括监控设备、现场设备、网关和现场控制平台,位于接入层和现场设备层。通过基于软交换的个人监控通信系统可以实现家庭自动化、公共服务、资源调度、安全监测以及社群互助等多种人机通信业务。随着机器智能的提高和网络的融合,将来个人监控还会不断完善和发展,极有可能成为未来通信的主流业务之一。  相似文献

Mobility management is vital for realizing large-scale wireless mesh networks to provide cost-effective broadband Internet access. Although a considerable amount of research on mobility management for cellular, Mobile IP, and mobile ad hoc networks has been proposed, mobility management for IP-based hybrid WMNs, including the mobility support from both the network and link layers, remains largely unexplored. Traditional mobility management mechanisms, when applied to hybrid WMNs, may cause significant performance degradation because of the overlooking of key features of WMNs. Challenges arising from multihop wireless communications require the design of new mobility management techniques in WMNs. In this article, mobility management in IP-based hybrid WMNs is investigated. The motivation for mobility management in WMNs is explained, and the existing work is surveyed. A wireless ATM system consists of a core network infrastructure that provides mobility support to end terminals and a wireless access link. This article outlines two schemes for supporting mobility of IP terminals in this network. In the first scheme, location management and handoff support is integrated within the ATM signaling and control framework (“mobile ATM”), and mobility is transparently supported at the IP layer by mobile ATM underneath. Mobility and multihoming represent key challenges for the development of the current and Future Internet, especially because of the rapid increase of user mobility and network heterogeneity. Both issues, mobility and multihoming, are closely related to each other and mainly issues of the used IP addressing scheme. This survey presents a general overview on approaches that enable mobility and multihoming in Future Internet; it focuses especially on approaches that suggest using new addressing schemes on layer 3, namely Locator/ID Separation and Core/Edge Separation, in order to tackle mobility and multihoming issues in an integrated manner. In our survey, we present a classification of the investigated approaches and summarize the main solution strategies. Furthermore, we evaluate the investigated approaches on basis of their capabilities and technical properties. On basis of the evaluation, where we emphasize the benefits and shortcomings of current solution strategies, we discuss future research issues related to mobility and multihoming.  相似文献

Important aspects of mobility and security in the Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) system are discussed in this paper. Mobility management functions are broadly categorized into three groups: a) mobile turned on, b) mobile turned off, and c) mobile in conversation. The paper first outlines the mobile synchronization sequence followed by its mobility functions: mobile identification, authentication, international mobile station identity attach/detach, and its location update. The important role of security in the GSM system is fully explored, including authentication, encryption, and positive identification of mobile equipment before the user is provided with the service. Numbering and addressing issues arising in the integrated broadband communication network (IBCN) for the support of the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) and Personal Telecommunication Service (PTS) are discussed. Mobile communications services will allow a user to roam within a network. Thus, there will be a need to identify several types of objects (terminals, network points of attachment, users, customers premises networks or CPN, etc.). The mobility properties of these objects will necessitate dynamic bindings between their addresses and names. The situation is further complicated because the mobility may be embedded. A mobile user may employ a mobile terminal in a mobile CPN. Therefore, in UMTS and PTS there is a need for dynamic binding of various identifiers with location information data. The exclusive use of personal telecommunication numbers (PTNs) as dialing numbers (DNs) is proposed in IBCN for UMTS and PTS. That is, PTNs will be used (during dialing) for making calls to mobile terminals, mobile users, and fixed subscribers.
