A laboratory study was carried to investigate whether certain antioxidants could be used to reduce age-hardening in asphalt binders. Several additives including: Vitamin E, Irganox 1010, Irgafos P-EPQ, carbon black, hydrated lime, and DLTDP/furfural, were evaluated. The modified asphalt binders were subjected to two accelerated oxidative aging regimes in the laboratory. Short-term oxidative aging of the binders was simulated using a rolling thin film oven while long-term aging was performed using a pressure aging vessel. The effects of aging on the binders were evaluated based on changes in rheological properties of asphalt binders undergoing oxidative aging. Binders modified with a combination of furfural and DLTDP was found to posses the lowest aging index. The antioxidant-treated binders exhibited improved performance at both high and low pavement temperatures. 相似文献

Pervious concrete has been increasingly used to reduce the amount of runoff water and improve the water quality near pavements and parking lots. However, due to the significantly reduced strength associated with the high porosity, pervious concrete mixtures currently cannot be used in highway pavement structures. A laboratory experiment was conducted in this study to improve the strength properties of pervious concrete through the incorporation of latex polymer. This study focused on the balance between permeability and strength properties of polymer-modified pervious concrete (PMPC). In addition to latex, natural sand and fiber were included to enhance the strength properties of pervious concrete. The test results indicate that it was possible to produce pervious concrete mixture with acceptable permeability and strength through the combination of latex and sand. 相似文献

The range of chemical grout uses in civil and underground engineering has increased rapidly, along with requirements on special sealing and reinforcing grouting technologies with high target parameters. Connecting demands of knowledge of grout properties and behaviour during grouting process and after curing are necessary for the design and control of the grouting technologies. In the past, the laboratory research on grouts was mainly directed at concrete mixtures. Recently, the laboratory testing methods for chemical grouts have been developed; the methods are often different, and the chemical grouts used have different properties. The paper deals with methods used an developed in the laboratories of the Institute of Geonics in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and present the results of laboratory tests connecting to well-known projects in the Czech Repuvlic (e.g. underground gas storage Háje). 相似文献

Research and development was conducted on a prototype timber bridge technology developed for rural bridge sites. The work included conception, computer modeling, laboratory load tests of a reduced size specimen, field construction of a pilot bridge and field load testing. This paper describes the laboratory load test phase. Three loadings comprised of four concentrated loads simulating a truck wheel pattern were conducted. Results of preliminary analytical simulation work is also described. The laboratory specimen demonstrated the structural effectiveness of the concept and led to the final design and implementation of the pilot field bridge. 相似文献
