The 23rd annual ICT conference and exhibition "Infotech 2008" was held from 2-5 June 2008, in Vrnjacka Banja, which is also called "the queen of spa tourism" in Serbia. Infotech is a wellknown vendor-driven event that also accommodates author works including paper presentations and tutorials. Along with its tradition of inviting domestic engineering and computer sciences students who expect their first degrees throughout this year-as special guests who could learn about finding their first jobs-this year's conference included closer relations with academic and scientific communities. Severe pressures to reduce costs, improve reliability, and generate higher shareholder value have helped to promote a successful change in the relationship between a major Canadian petroleum refinery and a large electrical utility. The relationship has evolved from a traditional customer/supplier relationship to a new business approach based on collaboration. New ideas have created win-win situations for both organizations. The new business approach has produced improvements in electrical power supply reliability, better equipment reliability, reductions in operating and maintenance costs through maintenance effectiveness and improved safety, and sharing of technical expertise and data. In addition, this new business approach has led to fresh ideas in business practices, maintenance practices, energy efficiency, electrical power monitoring, application of advanced relaying technology, and the setting of performance targets. This article describes the specific application of new technical and business ideas that have been implemented and the significant benefits that have been captured. 宁夏电力电视会议系统,对上级与国家电网公司和西北电网公司连接,对下级与公司所属各分会场连接,直接体现了宁夏电力的窗口形象。此系统采用的设备对传输通道要求很高,稍有误码或信号电平不稳就会出现马赛克,或切换会场画面时出现绿屏。原来的处理机制是当出现绿屏时重启8020终端,这样使会议图像和声音全部中断,而当绿屏频繁出现时,需频繁重启8020终端,造成会议频繁中断。为了从根本上解决上述问题,文章分析了绿屏现象的原因,并结合实际提出了相应的处理机制,使得宁夏电力电视会议系统不再受绿屏困扰,能够高质量地召开会议。 相似文献

Each year, RESNA hosts two competitions at its annual conference. The RESNA Student Scientific Paper Competition promotes high-quality research related to the fields of rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology. The Paralyzed Veterans of America Student Design Competition recognizes exemplary projects developed by students from all disciplines related to assistive technology. Both competitions are intended to encourage students from a variety of disciplines to address issues in the field of assistive technology and submit papers for presentation at the annual RESNA conference. This article presents summaries of the 1999 competition winning entries which covered the following topics: relating wheelchair setup to propulsion biomechanics; gender differences in the kinematic features of manual wheelchair propulsion; comparison of side-to-side wheelchair propulsion forces using an ARMA modeling technique; feasibility of EEG control for a hand grasp neuroprosthesis; clinical use of in situ pressure sensors for prosthetic socket fit; bowling ramp modification to increase autonomy and normalization; passive robot for frail visually impaired people; a telephone device to improve communication; voice operated wheelchair; wheelchair-based mounting system for automated positioning of electronic augmentative communication device 相似文献
