A new current-mode universal biquad and a new voltage-mode universal biquad using a single current-feedback amplifier are proposed in this paper. Both biquads enjoy the following advantages: realization of highpass, bandpass and lowpass filtering from each configuration, avoidance of input voltage tracking error in a current-feedback amplilfier; only one active component; no requirement for match components; low passive and active sensitivities. An inverting amplifier is used to form a notch filter. Experimental results are obtained to prove the theoretical analyses.  相似文献

This paper describes architectural and design considerations for low power, GHz range wideband low-pass active filters. A series LC resonator based biquad is proposed and its power efficiency is shown to be over 7 times better than an equivalent Gm-C biquad. Reduced number of active elements and readily available bandpass and low-pass signals make this topology particularly suitable for efficient realization of equalizing functions. Also demonstrated is a common-mode feedback scheme that allows for a stable, high accuracy common-mode control with loop bandwidth which can exceed twice the filter's bandwidth. A fifth order active-LC Butterworth filter prototype is fabricated in a standard 0.18 CMOS technology. It provides a bandwidth of 1.1 GHz and features equalization gain programmable over a 0-23 dB range. It is experimentally verified to achieve 47 dB SNR and 48 dB IM3 with 250 mVpp swing while consuming 72 mW of power.  相似文献

A new universal current-mode (CM) biquad filter is presented which can realise all the five standard filter functions namely lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass employing only unity-gain current followers (CF) as active elements. The workability of the proposed universal biquad, realised with CMOS unity-gain current followers, is established by SPICE simulations. The new circuit provides explicit CM outputs from high output impedance terminals and possesses a number of advantageous features all of which are not available simultaneously in any of the previously reported CF-based universal biquad filters.  相似文献

The new circuit is composed of only one CCII, two capacitors, and three resistors, and realizes five generic filter signals without any inverting-type voltage input signals. A novel universal biquad filter topology, realized using Operational Transconductance Amplifiers as active elements, is presented in this paper. It offers the benefits of orthogonal adjustment of the resonance frequency and the quality factor of the filter and, also, resistorless realization with grounded capacitors. The attractive characteristic is the requirement of single output Operational Transconductance Amplifies because in this way the implementation of the filter using commercially available discrete component ICs as OTAs is quite facilitated. Comparison with the literature shows that the proposed solution is the most beneficial from the active component count point of view. The behavior of the proposed topology is evaluated trough simulation results, using the OrCAD PSpice simulator, as well as through experimental results using the LM 13700 discrete component IC as Operational Transconductance Amplifier.  相似文献

None of the recently reported voltage-mode versatile filters are digitally programmable for applications like the easy addition of current-mode filtering signals to do the synthesis. None of the recently reported analytical synthesis methods are used for the realization of a multifunction filter. Both the above two induced motivations of researches have been merged, developed, and solved in this brief on the voltage-mode operational transconductance amplifier (OTA)-C universal biquad filter, which still achieves many advantages like the employment of all single-ended-input OTAs, all grounded capacitors, and the least number of active transistor and passive component counts, in addition to having a controllable gain, a cascadable input terminal, and the absence of the need to impose component matchings.  相似文献

This paper presents a realization of voltage-mode and current-mode active-only biquad circuits with a two-integrator loop-structure. The circuits are constructed solely with operational amplifiers (OAs) and operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs). The biquad circuits can realize the multiple circuit transfer functions, and the circuit parameters can be tuned orthogonally through adjusting the transconductance gains of the OTAs. Also, these biquad circuits enjoy very low sensitivities with respect to the circuit active elements. Some examples are given together with simulated results by PSPICE.

The circuit configurations are very suitable for implementation on both bipolar and CMOS technologies.  相似文献

A novel electronically tunable versatile voltage-mode universal biquad filter by using two single-output-operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs), one differential difference current conveyor (DDCC) and two capacitors is proposed. The proposed circuit, which can be used as either a four-input single-output universal filter or a single-input three-output multifunction filter with the same topology. Besides, the new circuit offers the following advantageous features: realization of all the non-inverting and inverting biquadratic filter signals from the same configuration, no need to employ inverting-type input signals, no need to component-matching conditions and low passive sensitivity performance.  相似文献
