New multimedia applications provide guaranteed end‐to‐end quality of service (QoS) and have stringent constraints on delay, delay‐jitter, bandwidth, cost, etc. The main task of QoS routing is to find a route in the network, with sufficient resources to satisfy the constraints. Most multicast routing algorithms are not fast enough for large‐scale networks and where the source node uses global cost information to construct a multicast tree. We propose a fast and simple heuristic algorithm (EPDT) for delay‐constrained routing problem for multicast tree construction. This algorithm uses a greedy strategy based on shortest‐path and minimal spanning trees. It combines the minimum cost and the minimum radius objectives by combining respectively optimal Prim's and Dijkstra's algorithms. It biases routes through destinations. Besides, it uses cost information only from neighbouring nodes as it proceeds, which makes it more practical, from an implementation point of view. Copyright © 2004 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article presents a new heuristic algorithm called DDBMA (Dynamic Delay Bounded Multicast Algorithm) to construct a minimum‐cost multicast tree. The heuristic depends on (1) bounded delay along paths from source nodes to each destination node; (2) minimum cost of the multicast tree; (3) dynamic multicast tree status which is maintained by updating the existing multicast tree when nodes in the network request to join or leave. Multicast routing is to find a tree which is rooted from a source node and contains all multicast destinations. There are two requirements of multicast routing in many multimedia applications: optimal network cost and bounded delay. The network cost of a tree is defined as the sum of the cost of all links in the tree. The bounded delay of a routing tree refers to the feature that the accumulated delay from the source to any destination along the tree shall not exceed a prespecified bound. This paper presents a distributed heuristic algorithm which generates routing trees having a suboptimal network cost under the delay bound constraint. The proposed algorithm is fully distributed, efficient in terms of the number of messages and convergence time, and flexible in dynamic membership changes. A large amount of simulations have been done to show the network cost of the routing trees generated by our algorithm is similar to, or even better than, other existing algorithms  相似文献

Multicast communication constrained by end‐to‐end and interdestination delay variation is known as delay and delay variation–bounded multicast. These constraints are salient for real‐time multicast communications. In this paper, we propose a directional core selection algorithm for core selection and delay variation–bounded multicast tree generation. Another algorithm, based on k‐shortest paths, is proposed to further decrease the interdestination delay variation of the trees generated by directional core selection. We also propose the dynamic version of both algorithms that respond to dynamic join and leave requests to the ongoing multicast session by reorganizing the tree and avoiding session disruption. Simulations show that the proposed algorithms surpass existing algorithms in end‐to‐end delay, interdestination delay variation, execution time, and failure probability.  相似文献

提出了一种适合目的节点动态加入的、时延受限低代价多播路由的启发式算法DLHMA算法。该算法基于MPH算法的基本思想进行扩展,在满足时延限制条件和多播树代价增加最小的基础上,逐步将目的节点添加到多播树上。最后,证明了算法的正确性,分析了算法的动态性,并进行了仿真实验。结果表明,该算法可以实现新加目的节点的动态加入,并保证所获得多播树的低代价。  相似文献

Multicast routing allows network sources to use network resources efficiently by sending only a single copy of data to all group members. In the delay constrained group multicast routing problem (DCGMRP), every group member is also a source, and has an individual minimal delay and bandwidth requirement. The routing algorithm must, for each member of the group, construct a source‐based routing tree spanning all the other member nodes without exceeding the capacities of the traversed links, while satisfying the stated delay constraints. Previous work adopted the direct, intuitive approach by first creating a source‐based multicast tree independently for each member node, and then iteratively locating network links whose capacity constraint are violated and eliminating the violation by rerouting the trees. In this paper, we investigate a number of efficient and effective algorithms, DCGM _ IA +, DCGM _ GR and DCGM _ CP , for solving DCGMRP and compare their performance with previous proposals. Through extensive experiments, our proposals are shown to outperform previous algorithms in constructing group multicast trees with low costs and high success ratios. 针对无线网络中资源受限的组播路由问题,考虑网络节点的节点度限制和网络链路的带宽约束,以最小化组播路由开销为目标,提出了一种二进制编码方式的基于灰狼优化算法的组播路由策略.在给定的网络拓扑下,基于灰狼优化算法的组播路由策略可以迅速找到一棵包含源和目的节点的最小开销组播树.仿真结果表明,相比于遗传算法,所提出的基于灰狼优化算法的组播路由策略可以得到一棵开销更小的组播树,并且在相同的时间复杂下具有更强的算法稳定性.  相似文献

The advances in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) technology are expected to facilitate bandwidth-intensive multicast applications through light splitting. Due to complexity and cost constraints, light splitting (or optical multicast) nodes are sparsely configured in a practical WDM network. In this article, we investigate the multicast routing problem under the sparse light-splitting constraint. An efficient sparse splitting constrained multicast routing algorithm called Multicast Capable Node First Heuristic (MCNFH) is proposed. The key idea of MCNFH is to include the shortest path, that includes most of the multicast capable nodes, for configuring the multicast tree. Simulations and comparisons are used to demonstrate the performance of MCNFH. Simulation results and analysis show that MCNFH builds multicast trees with the least wavelength channel cost and with the smallest number of wavelengths used per link. In addition, MCNFH requires only one transmitter at the source node.  相似文献

在数据交换网络中,颜色树是一种通过节点不相交的多路径路由数据报文的有效方法。这种方法中组建两棵以某一节点为根节点的颜色树,即Red树和Blue树,网络中各节点到根节点的路径是节点不相交的。本文在分析和研究SimCT算法的基础上,提出了一种基于颜色树的多播树生成方法及单节点/链路故障的多播通信恢复方案。该方法根据SimCT算法构造的颜色树来组建一棵多播转发树,在多播树中单节点或单链路故障后,故障检测节点本地执行故障恢复方案,将受影响的故障节点的下游子树重新连接到多播树。仿真实验表明,本文所提出的多播树生成方案相比现有方案可以减少网络资源的浪费,并且故障恢复后的代价与原多播通信树相当。  相似文献

The paper addresses the issue of minimizing the number of nodes involved in routing over a multicast tree and in the maintenance of such a tree in a datagram network. It presents a scheme where the tree routing and maintenance burden is laid only upon the source node and the destination nodes associated with the multicast tree. The main concept behind this scheme is to view each multicast tree as a collection of unicast paths and to locate only the multicast source and destination nodes on the junctions of their multicast tree. The paper shows that despite this restriction, the cost of the created multicast trees is not necessarily higher than the cost of the trees created by other algorithms that do not impose the restriction and therefore require all nodes along the data path of a tree to participate in routing over the tree and in the maintenance of the tree  相似文献

为了解决低轨卫星IP网络中现有特定源组播算法的信道资源浪费问题,本文提出了一套新的特定源组播算法,即基于核心群的特定源组播算法(CSSM)和加权的CSSM算法(w-CSSM).CSSM算法以源节点作为初始核心群,通过核心群和剩余组成员的最短路径方法逐步扩展直至整棵组播树构建完成,所得的树代价最小,从而大大提高了网络的带宽利用率和传输效率.在w-CSSM算法中,加权因子可以自适应调整以适度增大树代价、降低端到端传播时延,以支持某些有严格端到端时延要求的实时组播业务.通过与低轨卫星IP网络中典型特定源组播算法MRA的仿真比较,可以看出CSSM和w-CSSM算法的树代价性能比MRA有较大改善,不过端到端传播时延略高.  相似文献

提出了一种高稳定的可扩展覆盖网多播(SOM-HS, scalable overlay multicast with high stability)算法。SOM-HS算法定义了节点稳定度因子以及链路权重,能保证高稳定的节点位于多播树骨干网中。在分层分簇构造过程中,SOM-HS算法限制节点出度,保证节点负载均衡。实验结论表明,与现有其他算法相比,在不同组规模下,使用SOM-HS算法时的最大多播延时都最小。  相似文献

In this article we study the multicast routing problem in all-optical WDM networks under the spare light splitting constraint. To implement a multicast session, several light-trees may have to be used due to the limited fanouts of network nodes. Although many multicast routing algorithms have been proposed in order to reduce the total number of wavelength channels used (total cost) for a multicast session, the maximum number of wavelengths required in one fiber link (link stress) and the end-to-end delay are two parameters which are not always taken into consideration. It is known that the shortest path tree (SPT) results in the optimal end-to-end delay, but it can not be employed directly for multicast routing in sparse light splitting WDM networks. Hence, we propose a novel wavelength routing algorithm which tries to avoid the multicast incapable branching nodes (MIBs, branching nodes without splitting capability) in the shortest-path-based multicast tree to diminish the link stress. Good parts of the shortest-path-tree are retained by the algorithm to reduce the end-to-end delay. The algorithm consists of tree steps: (1) a DijkstraPro algorithm with priority assignment and node adoption is introduced to produce a SPT with up to 38% fewer MIB nodes in the NSF topology and 46% fewer MIB nodes in the USA Longhaul topology, (2) critical articulation and deepest branch heuristics are used to process the MIB nodes, (3) a distance-based light-tree reconnection algorithm is proposed to create the multicast light-trees. Extensive simulations demonstrate the algorithm’s efficiency in terms of link stress and end-to-end delay.  相似文献

Wavelength-division multiplexed (WDM) networks using wavelength-routing are considered to be potential candidates for the next generation wide-area backbone networks. Multicasting is the ability to transmit information from a single source node to multiple destination nodes and is becoming an important requirement in high-speed networks. As WDM technology matures and multicast applications become increasingly popular, supporting multicast routing at the WDM layer becomes an important and yet a challenging topic. This paper concerns with the problem of optical multicast routing in WDM networks. A few nodes in the network may have wavelength conversion and/or splitting capabilities. In this paper, a new multicast tree construction algorithm is proposed. This algorithm is based on a concept called virtual source. A virtual source is a node having both the splitting and wavelength conversion capabilities. By exploiting the presence of virtual source nodes, the proposed algorithm achieves improved performance. To further improve the performance, the algorithm assigns priorities to nodes based on their capabilities. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified through extensive simulation experiments.  相似文献

求解开销最小组播树在数学上归结为Steiner树问题,但由于寻找最优的Steiner树问题是NP-Complete问题,因此在组播应用中,采用启发式算法获得次优的组播树是常见的方法。该文提出了一种新的的启发式组播路由算法(Shared Path First Heuristic,SPFH)该算法在选择目的节点加入组播树时,既考虑到目的节点到树上的距离,又考虑到先加入的节点对后续加入节点的影响。算法从距离当前组播树近的目的节点中挑选节点加入组播树,选择的规则是,把能够减小其它目的节点加入组播树开销的节点先加入树。仿真结果表明,SPFH算法能找到开销接近于最优解的组播树。  相似文献

Overlay multicast constructs a multicast delivery tree among end hosts. Unlike traditional IP multicast, the non-leaf nodes in the tree are normal end hosts, which are potentially more susceptible to failures than routers and may leave the multicast group voluntarily. In these cases, all downstream nodes are affected. Thus, an important problem for making overlay multicast more dependable is how to recover from node departures in order to minimize the disruption of service to those affected nodes. In this paper, we propose a proactive tree recovery mechanism to make the overlay multicast resilient to these failures and unexpected events. Rather than letting downstream nodes try to find a new parent after a node departure, each non-leaf node precalculates a parent-to-be for each of its children. When this non-leaf node is gone, all its children can find their respective new parents immediately. The salient feature of the approach is that rescue plans for multiple non-leaf nodes can work together for their respective children when they fail or leave at the same time. Extensive simulations demonstrate that our proactive approach can recover from node departures much faster than reactive methods, while the quality of trees restored and the cost of recovery are reasonable  相似文献

This paper proposes a multicast routing algorithm that makes use of multiple node‐disjoint distribution trees for its routing from the source to the multicast group members. The specialty of this scheme is that the different packets of a message between a source and destinations are routed through node‐disjoint paths to provide reliable and secure multicast communication. In this proposed routing scheme the computation of the node‐disjoint path for packet routing is done either at a centralized route moderator or in a distributed fashion at all destinations in order to avoid single point failure. An effective provision is made to enable new members to join the existing multicast trees and to prune leaving members. The performance parameters of the proposed reliable and secure multi‐path routing scheme are studied under various network conditions using GloMoSim. In this paper, we investigate the issues of QoS multicast routing in wireless ad hoc networks. Due to limited bandwidth of a wireless node, a QoS multicast call could often be blocked if there does not exist a single multicast tree that has the requested bandwidth, even though there is enough bandwidth in the system to support the call. In this paper, we propose a new multicast routing scheme by using multiple paths or multiple trees to meet the bandwidth requirement of a call. Three multicast routing strategies are studied, SPT (shortest path tree) based multiple-paths (SPTM), least cost tree based multiple-paths (LCTM) and multiple least cost trees (MLCT). The final routing tree(s) can meet the user’s QoS requirements such that the delay from the source to any destination node shall not exceed the required bound and the aggregate bandwidth of the paths or trees shall meet the bandwidth requirement of the call. Extensive simulations have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our three multicast routing strategies. The simulation results show that the new scheme improves the call success ratio and makes a better use of network resources.  相似文献

The bounded shortest multicast algorithm (BSMA) is presented for constructing minimum-cost multicast trees with delay constraints. The BSMA can handle asymmetric link characteristics and variable delay bounds on destinations, specified as real values, and minimizes the total cost of a multicast routing tree. Instead of the single-pass tree construction approach used in most previous heuristics, the new algorithm is based on a feasible-search optimization strategy that starts with the minimum-delay multicast tree and monotonically decreases the cost by iterative improvement of the delay-bounded multicast tree. The BSMA's expected time complexity is analyzed, and simulation results are provided showing that BSMA can achieve near-optimal cost reduction with fast execution  相似文献
