利用自制的液压剖分式沟槽机筒单螺杆挤出机实验平台,研究了沟槽机筒单螺杆挤出机的熔融长度和螺杆转速的关系,实验验证了单螺杆挤出机固体输送段和熔融段机筒均开设沟槽的耦合双槽熔融理论。结果表明,与传统光滑机筒单螺杆挤出机和IKV单螺杆挤出机相比,在熔融段机筒开设沟槽的单螺杆挤出机的熔融长度较短且熔融过程比较稳定,熔融效率得到较大提高。  相似文献

提供了一种全新的分析挤出机停留时间的方法。在相同螺杆转速下,耦合双槽单螺杆挤出机物料的停留时间低于传统光滑机筒单螺杆挤出机和螺旋沟槽IKV单螺杆挤出机;耦合双槽单螺杆挤出机可以有效提高挤出机的熔融效率,实现高固体输送产量下的熔融效率与固体输送效率的匹配。  相似文献

In this paper, a model for the conveying of solid polymer in the feeding zone of intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extruders is proposed. The theoretical model uses an approach that is similar to that commonly used in single screw extruders; however, it takes into account the particular geometry of the screw channel, the partially filled channel, and the special configuration of the two self-wiping screws. The model thus considers two conveying mechanisms: the first one in the channel, which is analyzed in terms of polymer-metal friction, and the second one, which is mainly an axial transport in the intermeshing zone. The theoretical predictions of the model are compared with the experimental results obtained on a laboratory extruder with a polymer in powder form, and satisfactory agreement is observed. The model enables the prediction of the evolution of the filling of the screws towards the geometry and the operating conditions. This is an important key to analyzing the thermal aspects in this zone, which can lead to a prediction of the melting capacity of the extruder. Indeed, the filling of the feeding zone defines the heat transport that occurs between the hot barrel and the solid polymer.  相似文献

A model for the melting process in a self wiping co-rotating twin screw extruder is described. Self-wiping co-rotating twin screw extruders are modular and starve fed. This leads to melting mechanisms that are different from single screw extruders. The melting process in the modular screw configurations generally occurs in specialized sections such as kneading disk blocks. The model, based on our previous experimental observations, considers the formation of two stratified layers of melt in contact with the hot barrel and solid pellets in contact with the relatively colder screw. In the kneading disk blocks, a part of the solid bed is blocked because of the relative stagger between successive disks. The model predicts both the location of melting and melting lengths in a screw configuration. Calculations for individual screw elements and kneading disc elements are presented first. Melting in a modular configuration of these elements is then considered. The effect of operating variables such as mass flow rate and screw speed on melting is then studied. The model is put in a dimensionless form and the effect of various dimensionless groups is discussed. We make a comparison to the experiment and agreement is good.  相似文献

A mathematical model was proposed for the characteristics of solid transportation in the feeding zone of an intermeshing co-rotating twin screw extruder. The model was based on the observations made from a “transparent” extruder. The analysis considered optimal solid conveyed with maximum throughput rate, i.e., when the upper and lower intermeshing zones, and the two sides of the screws were all partially filled with solid resin to an extent that a slight increase in the solid filling would immediately cause blocking of the solid transportation. Because of these starve-fed characteristics, the conventional approach for analysing solid feeding used in single-screw extruders was inadequate for twin-screw extruders. This paper also suggests a solution for the mathematical expressions describing the stress and velocity fields in the solid feeding zone of a twin-screw extruder. Finally, the predicted values are compared with our experimental findings.  相似文献

提出了普通螺杆和屏障螺杆的计算机模拟方法,所用模拟包括:喂料区、固体输送区、熔融区和熔体输送区。在屏障型螺杆中,其固体熔融速率是按Tadmor模型计算出来的,而Tadmor模型的固体床速率是以固体床厚度和宽度的变化为基础的。模拟的数据同试验数据相比,可精确合理以预测出普通型和屏障型螺杆的挤出特性。  相似文献

A theoretical model for melting in plasticating extruders is described. Compared to previous models, this model introduces more accurate and less restrictive assumptions, adds a mass balance on the entire channel, and replaces certain approximate solutions by exact solutions. Flow of the solid bed is represented by a solid bed acceleration parameter, SBAP, which permits solid bed acceleration in a screw compression section. New experimental melting data for a variety of screw designs, polymers, and extruder sizes are presented and compared to the theoretical predictions. With the optimum SBAP, reasonably accurate model prediction of the melting profiles is observed for a wide variety of cases.  相似文献

A new mechanism is described that allows adjustment of the groove geometry in grooved feed extruders. This mechanism enables efficient, continuous and independent change of the groove geometry during the extrusion process. The patented solution of the activated grooved feed section enables one to change the number of grooves, taper angle and, connected with it, groove depth. The paper contains the graphical presentation of the selected results of experimental studies of autothermal extrusion of a medium density polyethylene in an extruder with the grooved feed section in which the groove taper angle, and thus groove depth, was changed during the extrusion process. The influence of changing the groove taper angle in the range from 0 to 5.236 × 10?2 rad and screw speeds ranging from 177 to 279 rev/min on extruder output was studied. 在自制的测试仪上对单螺杆挤出机螺旋沟槽固体输送段的产量进行了实验研究,探讨了沟槽衬套、螺杆的结构参数,物料粒径大小及螺杆转速对单螺杆挤出机固体输送段产量的影响,同时将螺旋沟槽单螺杆挤出机与IKV挤出机固体输送段的产量进行了对比。实验研究表明:粒径越小,螺旋衬套沟槽越宽,固体输送段产量越高;螺杆螺距变化对挤出机固体输送段产量的影响很小;IKV直槽挤出机固体输送段的产量明显小于螺旋沟槽衬套挤出机的固体输送产量,而且随着转速的增加,趋势越明显。  相似文献

Twin screw extruders can he classified according to their geometrical configuration. The main distinction is made between intermeshing and nonintermeshing extruders. Another distinguishing characteristic is the sense of rotation. The most important characteristics of the various twin screw extruders are examined, with particular emphasis on the effect of screw geometry on the conveying characteristics. A brief review is given of the state of the art in theoretical analysis of twin screw extruders. Experiments with two lab scale, intermeshing twin screw extruders are described, one co- and one counterrotating. Results are presented on power consumption, residence time distribution, and mixing characteristics of the two extruders. The counterrotating extruder exhibits a narrower residence time distribution and better dispersive mixing capability. The corotating extruder showed a better distributive mixing capability. These results can be explained in terms of the conveying and mixing mechanisms in both extruders. The overall extruder performance seems to be dominated by the effect of the intenneshing region. Any realistic, theoretical analysis of twin screw extruders should be centered around the flow behavior and mixing characteristics of the intermeshing region. The corotating extruder appears to be best suited for melt blending operations, while the counterrotating extruder seems to be preferred in operations where solid fillers have to be dispersed in a polymer matrix.  相似文献

The effect of a vibration force field on the melting process of an extruder is studied. It is shown that the mechanism for melting differs from conventional theory. Experimental studies of melting of low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) pellets in a vibration‐induced single‐screw (VISS) extruder show that melting is initiated on the inside of the barrel and the surface of screw. Models were developed that explain the melting mechanism in those regions. The melting at the surface of the screw is mainly initiated by frictional work on the pellets by the vibration and rotation of the screw. The melting action at the barrel is induced by a barrel temperature higher than the melting point and propagated by viscous dissipation heating of the melt film produced. The theory is supplemented by a calculation sample, which shows good agreement with experimental data obtained on a transparent barrel VISS (T‐VISS) extruder and a half‐open barrel VISS (H‐VISS) extruder with LDPE. The results of the experiment and calculation sample indicate that the introduction of vibration‐induced field can improve the melting capacity of extruder to a great extent. The present model enables the prediction of processing parameters for VISS extruders, from which the optimum operating conditions can be obtained. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 通过数值模拟研究了机筒内壁开螺槽的螺筒结构对单螺杆挤出机性能的影响。采用POLYFLOW软件模拟了硬质聚氯乙烯(PVC-R)熔体在单螺杆螺筒挤出机以及传统单螺杆挤出机中的三维等温流场及混合过程,并对二者的混合挤出性能进行了比较。结果表明:机筒内壁为螺旋沟槽结构的单螺杆螺筒挤出机,其混合性能相对于传统单螺杆挤出机有所提高。  相似文献

A simple theoretical model for flow in nonintermeshing twin screw extruders has been derived. The assumptions which in single screw extruders result in the “two parallel plates” model, in twin screw extruders result in the “three parallel plates” model. The flow rate equation can be expressed, for Newtonian fluids, in terms of drag and pressure flow terms, as in single screw extrusion theory, but each term is multiplied by a geometrical factor. This factor incorporates the effect of one screw on the drag and pressure flow terms of the other. The theoretical model was experimentally verified on a 1 inch diameter Bausano twin screw extruder.  相似文献
