The effect of the anomalously high wear of the quenched steel counterbody was found during the testing of coatings manufactured by electric spark plating (ESP) with an AlSn alloy (20 wt % Sn). The presence of SnO2 nanofibers in the coating composition, which are formed during the ESP with an electrode tool made of this alloy, is assumed to be the main reason for the above effect.  相似文献

以Zr55Al10Ni5Cu30非晶态合金棒为电极,利用电火花沉积技术在ZL101铝合金表面制备了锆基合金涂层.利用X射线衍射仪(XRD)、扫描电镜(SEM)、显微硬度计和摩擦磨损实验机等对涂层的微观结构、表面形貌、显微硬度和摩擦磨损性能进行了分析测试.结果表明,沉积层表面较致密、均匀,为典型的“溅射状”花样形貌;沉积层主要由非晶、ZrO2和Cu8Zr3等相组成;沉积层的平均显微硬度为1 555 HV 0.01,约为基材的15倍,摩擦系数仅为0.096,呈现出良好的减摩耐磨特性,沉积层的磨损机制主要为疲劳磨损和磨粒磨损.  相似文献

In this study, a-C:Ti x% coatings with various levels of Ti addition are deposited on cemented tungsten carbide (WC-Co) substrates using a medium-frequency twin magnetron sputtering and unbalanced magnetron sputtering system. This study investigates the tribological properties of the coatings by conducting wear tests against an AISI 1045 steel counterbody under a cylinder-on-disk line contact wear mode using an oscillating friction and wear tester. Additionally, turning tests and high-speed through-hole drilling tests are performed on AISI 1045 steel counterbodies and PCB workpieces, respectively, to investigate the machining performance of coated turning cutters and microdrills. The a-C:Ti x% coatings not only have improved tribological properties but also demonstrate enhanced machining performance. For sliding against the AISI 1045 steel counterbody under loads of 10 and 100 N, the results show that the optimal friction and wear resistance properties are provided by the a-C:Ti13% and a-C:Ti3% coatings, respectively. Meanwhile, the a-C:Ti20% and a-C:Ti51% coatings yield the optimal turning and drilling performance, respectively.  相似文献

In this study, hard coatings (TiN, TiCN, CrN, and CrCN) and Me-DLC coatings (Ti x%-C:H and Cr x%-C:H) were deposited on tungsten carbide (WC) substrate by multiarc physical vapor deposition (MAPVD) and unbalanced magnetron (UBM) sputtering, respectively. Counterbodies of the AISI 1045 steel cylinder and the AA7075T651 aluminum cylinder were used in the cylinder-on-disk, line-contact wear mode under dry condition; a counterbody of the AISI 52100 steel ball was used in the ball-on-disk, point-contact wear mode, under both dry and lubricated conditions. All wear tests were conducted with a reciprocating machine. After the tests, the most suitable coating for various counterbodies and test environments was selected. For the coating/1045 steel cylinder, the Ti10%-C:H coating possesses excellent tribological characteristics. For the coating/7075T651 aluminum cylinder, hard coatings display excellent wear resistance. For the coating/steel ball, CrCN and CrN coatings display very little wear under both dry and lubricated conditions. On TiN and TiCN coatings, special wear mechanisms of material transfer, adhesion wear, and fatigue fracture occurred during initial tests under kerosene lubrication.  相似文献

The structure and phase composition of Ni-Cr-Al alloys doped with Si, Ti, Mn, and Co have been studied. An eutectic three-phase structure was found to be in the doped alloys. Doping with Si and Ti increases the microhardness and wear resistance of the alloys. The highest coefficient of the mass transfer (0.75) during the electrospark alloying is observed for Co-containig alloys. The coatings with the doped alloys have a higher wear resistance than those with the Ni-Cr-Al basic alloy. Steel 45’s heat resistance is increased after the electrospark doping with Si-, Ti-, Mn-, and Co-containing alloys by 4, 4.3, 5.1, and 4.6 times, respectively. The electrode materials have been developed for the electrospark reconditioning of workpieces based on PE8418 (Ni-Ni3B-Cu-Si) with the additions of titanium carbide, chromium carbide, and tungsten carbide, which make it possible to manufacture coatings up to 5-mm thick. The results of the investigation of the erosion properties of B4C-TiB2 alloys manufactured using the method of reactive sintering under hot pressing of B4C-TiO2 powder blends that were used as the electrode materials for the electrospark hardening of titanium surfaces are presented. The tests show that, in the surface layers of the electrode materials, under the impact of the electric discharge, the boron carbide content substantially decreased, while the quantity of titanium borides increased and new phases of TiC x N y , TiO2, and Ti appeared. Only these components are transferred onto the surface of the titanium alloy and form there a protective coating up to 100 μm thick with high hardness (32–43 GPa) and wear resistance. The materials developed are promising for their application as the electrodes in the electrospark alloying of construction steels and titanium alloys.  相似文献

Ceramic-metal composite (CMC) coatings were deposited on the surface of Fe-0.14–0.22 wt.% C steel by plasma spraying of self-reacting Fe2O3−Al composite powders. The dry sliding friction and wear character of the CMC coatings are investigated in this paper. The wear resistance of the CMC coatings was significantly better than that of Al2O3 coatings under the same sliding wear conditions. The tough metal, which is dispersed in the ceramic matrix, obviously improved the toughness of the CMC coatings. Wear mechanisms of the CMC coatings were identified as a combination of abrasive and adhesive wear.  相似文献

The tribological properties of magnetron sputtered titanium nitride coating on 316L steel, sliding against Si3N4 ceramic ball under dry friction and synthetic perspiration lubrication, were investigated. The morphology of the worn surface and the elemental composition of the wear debris were examined by scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive spectroscopy. TiN coatings and 316L stainless steel had better tribological properties under synthetic perspiration lubrication than under dry friction. Among the three tested materials (316L, 1.6 and 2.4 μm TiN coatings), 2.4 μm TiN coating exhibits the best wear resistance. The difference in wear damage of the three materials is essentially due to the wear mechanisms. For the TiN coating, the damage is attributed to abrasive wear under synthetic perspiration lubrication and the complex interactive mechanisms, including abrasive and adhesive wear, along with plastic deformation, under dry friction.  相似文献

研究了在润滑条件下,WC-CoCr涂层与SiC摩擦副对磨时的摩擦和磨损性能,分析了加载载荷和润滑条件(干摩擦、润滑脂、金刚石研磨膏)对WC-CoCr涂层摩擦系数和磨损量的影响规律,对涂层的磨损机理进行了探讨。实验结果表明:脂润滑时,WC-CoCr涂层与SiC摩擦副对磨时的摩擦系数和磨损率降为最小,其中摩擦系数基本在0.1左右波动;金刚石研磨膏润滑时,磨损率高达1.521 24×10-6 g/m,为干摩擦条件下的2.68倍,抗磨减摩效果不理想;干摩擦时,涂层表面存在硬挤压痕,主要磨损机制为微切削并伴随着塑性变形,而在金刚石研磨膏润滑条件下,三体磨粒磨损起主导作用。  相似文献

WC-(W,Cr)2C-Ni coatings were prepared by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) with different spraying powers. The effect of spraying power on microstructure, phase composition, hardness, fracture toughness, and oscillating dry friction and wear behaviors of the coatings were studied. Simultaneously, the microstructure and properties of the as-sprayed coatings were compared with those of WC-17Co coating prepared under the optimal spraying power. It was found that spraying power had significant effect on the molten degree of feedstock powder and phase composition as well as microstructure and properties of WC-(W,Cr)2C-Ni coatings. WC-(W,Cr)2C-Ni coating deposited at a moderate spraying power of 22.5?kW had the highest fracture toughness and the best wear resistance. WC-17Co coating obtained under the moderate spraying power had poor fracture toughness and wear resistance. Moreover, the four kinds of coatings were all dominated by subsurface cracking and removal of materials when sliding against Si3N4 ball under unlubricated conditions.  相似文献

In the present study, the tribological behavior of B4C reinforced Fe-based bulk metallic glass (BMG) in the form of spray coatings was investigated. These coatings were successfully deposited on mild steel substrates using shrouded plasma spray techniques. The B4C fraction and distribution in the deposited BMG/B4C coatings were evaluated by image analysis and scanning electron microscopy. Friction and wear experiments were performed under dry conditions using a pin-on-disk sliding wear test against SUJ2 countermaterial for different B4C fractions. It was observed that the wear resistance of composite coatings was greatly improved relative to the BMG coating. The results show that the friction coefficient of BMG/B4C coatings is dependent on the fraction of B4C in the BMG matrix. The wear behavior of Fe-based BMG is governed by plastic deformation and fracture of the wear surface. By embedding a harder material, B4C, in a comparatively soft matrix, the hardness of the wear surface can be increased, and plastic flow propagation is inhibited. Moreover, the lower friction coefficient of B4C can lead to reductions in wear loss.  相似文献

Solid-lubricant MoS2 coatings have been successfully applied in high vacuum and aerospace environments. However, these coatings are very sensitive to water vapor and not suitable for applications in moist environments. In this work, Cr- and T-doped MoS2 composite coatings were developed. The results demonstrated that these composite coatings are promising for applications in high humidity environments.MoS2-Cr and MoS2-Ti composite coatings with different Cr or Ti content were deposited on high speed steel substrate by unbalanced magnetron sputtering. The composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties of the as-deposited MoS2-metal composite coatings were analyzed by energy dispersive analysis of X-ray (EDX), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and nanoindentation experiments. The tribological properties of the coatings were evaluated against an alumina ball under different relative humidity atmosphere using a ball-on-disc tribometer. The MoS2-Cr and MoS2-Ti coatings showed a maximum hardness of 7.5 GPa and 8.4 GPa at a dopant content of 16.6 at.% Cr or 20.2 at.% Ti, respectively. The tribological test results showed that, with a small amount of Cr and/or Ti doping, the tribological properties of MoS2 coatings under humid atmosphere could be significantly improved. The optimum doping level was found to be around 10 at.% for both MoS2-Cr coatings and MoS2-Ti coatings to show the best tribological properties, with both the lowest friction coefficient and wear rate. The excellent tribological properties of the MoS2-Cr and MoS2-Ti coatings with an appropriate metal doping level in moist atmosphere are found due to their ability to form stable transfer layer on the surface of the counterbody, which supplies lubrication for the contact surface.  相似文献

Ni-P-TiN化学复合镀层具有比Ni-P镀层更高的硬度和耐磨性,但其表面粗糙度大,与对偶件之间的摩擦因数高,应用潜力受到限制。通过在化学镀液中添加不同用量的纳米WS_(2)颗粒和固定用量的TiN颗粒,在低碳钢表面制备Ni-P-TiN-WS_(2)复合镀层。采用X射线能谱仪(EDS)、扫描电子显微镜(SEM)和X射线衍射仪(XRD)对镀层的化学成分(质量分数)、表面形貌及微观结构进行表征,并利用球盘式摩擦磨损试验机测试复合镀层的摩擦磨损性能。结果表明:纳米WS_(2)颗粒与纳米TiN颗粒的共沉积可使镀层表面更加致密、平整。随着镀液中纳米WS_(2)用量的增加,复合镀层的硬度先减小后增大,与氮化硅陶瓷球的摩擦因数则先升后降,磨损率显著下降,耐磨性增强。镀液中纳米WS_(2)粉末的用量为2.5 g/L时复合镀层的摩擦学性能最佳。纳米WS_(2)颗粒的加入及用量优化可显著改善复合镀层的综合性能,可为发展高耐磨低摩擦因数的先进涂层提供借鉴。  相似文献

In order to improve the corrosion and tribological properties of steel, chromium oxide coatings were prepared by a new combined process, namely, chromizing and plasma oxidizing treatments using double glow plasma technology under various oxygen flow rates. The composition and microstructure of the coatings were analyzed respectively by means of X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The results indicated that the oxygen flow rates had a great effect on the surface structure of the prepared Cr2O3 coatings, and dense and smooth Cr2O3 coatings were prepared at the oxygen flow rate of 10 sccm. The Cr2O3 coatings exhibited the better corrosion resistance which was in good agreement with the results obtained by the microstructure studied. Further mechanical properties test showed that the Cr2O3 coatings with high hardness and elastic modulus adhered well to the steel substrates and displayed excellent wear resistance and low coefficient of friction under dry sliding wear test conditions. The wear mechanism was mostly dominated by the “soft abrasion”.  相似文献

The effect of the iron concentration in WC–Co electrode materials on the structure and properties of coatings produced by electrospark alloying (ESA) on low-carbon steel is investigated. The effect of the iron concentration on the mass transfer and thickness of the deposited coatings is described. The phase composition, surface roughness and wear resistance of the coatings in dry and microabrasive friction are investigated. It is shown that the rate of decarbidization of tungsten carbide in ESA with a higher iron concentration of the electrode materials increases.  相似文献

The aim of this work is the development of technology for obtaining electrode materials from Colmonoy-WC alloys and hard alloys containing TiC, WC, Mo2C, Tin, Co, Cr, Ni, and Al. The phase composition and structure are studied along with the kinetics of mass transfer, hardness, and wear resistance of electrospark coatings made of the manufactured alloys. The methods used were metallography and electron microscopy and X-ray phase and durometric analyses. It was shown that the alloys Colmonoy (Ni-Ni3B–Si–Cu), Colmonoy-10% WC, and Colmonoy-25% WC have a eutectic structure. With an increase in the WC content in the alloys, the structure is found to be an aggregation of the phases of a hard solution based on nickel and tungsten carboborosilicide. At the pulse energy of 7.5 J, the thickness of the coatings formed was 3–4 mm. The wear resistance of the coatings increased with the growth of the WC content in the coatings from 64.5 μm/km for Colmonoy to 18.5 μm/km for the alloy with 70% WC, and the steel wear resistance under those conditions was 160 μm/km. It was established that the structure and composition of the manufactured electrode materials from the hard alloys based on TiC and WC carbides make it possible to produce electrospark coatings with a thickness up to 100 μm and hardness up to 20–24 GPa. The developed materials can be used to harden/recondition worn workpieces made of constructional steels by the electrospark method.  相似文献

Tribological tests were conducted on thermally sprayed silicon carbide (SiC) coatings to investigate its potential on reducing wear in offshore wind turbine bearings. The tests were carried out under dry conditions, 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution, and polyalfaolefin (PAO)-lubricated conditions. In order to obtain good quality SiC coatings, it is compulsory to modify the feedstock to limit SiC decomposition during atmospheric spraying process. The SiC feedstock used in this research has been modified with yttrium aluminum garnet (Y3Al5O12) oxide additives that originated from its metal salt precursors. High-frequency pulse detonation (HFPD) technique has been utilized to produce coatings of around 100 μm in thickness. The sliding tests have recorded the lowest coefficient of friction (COF) of 0.15 in PAO condition and the highest COF of 0.50 in dry sliding. The wear tracks morphology show that during dry sliding test, the coatings experience abrasive wear accompanied by tribo-oxidation reaction that initiates crack formation along the splat boundaries. On the other two sliding test conditions (NaCl and PAO), polishing of asperities and some grain plowing from the splats were observed in the wear tracks. Tribochemical wear was found to be the main mechanism producing smooth surfaces. Nevertheless, in all cases, the wear losses were negligible.  相似文献

为了降低机械零件在强烈摩擦磨损条件下的摩擦因数,提高其耐磨性,制备了等离子喷涂石墨/CaF2/TiC/镍基合金复合涂层,研究其摩擦学行为及机理。结果表明,石墨/CaF2/TiC/镍基合金复合涂层的摩擦因数为0.22~0.288,较纯镍基合金涂层的降低了25.9%~53%,磨损率较之降低18.6%~70.1%。与GCr15钢球对摩时,复合涂层的磨损表面逐渐形成了由铁氧化物、石墨和CaF2组成的转移层,使GCr15钢球与复合涂层的摩擦转变为钢球与转移层的摩擦。由于转移层起到固体润滑作用,复合涂层的摩擦因数和磨损率大幅度降低。复合涂层的主要磨损机理是转移层在载荷的反复作用下而产生的层脱剥落。  相似文献

运用等离子喷涂技术在铝合金表面制备TiCP/镍基合金复合涂层,研究干摩擦条件下载荷、速度和温度对复合涂层摩擦磨损行为与机理的影响规律;建立了基于最小二乘支持向量机(LS-SVM)的复合涂层磨损预测模型。结果表明:在不同摩擦条件下,TiCP/镍基合金复合涂层的摩擦因数和磨损质量均低于镍基合金涂层。LS-SVM模型对摩擦因数和磨损失重的预测时间仅为BP-ANN模型的12.93%,其预测精度分别比BP-ANN模型提高了58.74%和41.87%,可有效预测干摩擦条件下TiCP/镍基合金复合涂层的摩擦磨损行为。  相似文献

Titanium alloys are poor in wear resistance and it is not suitable under sliding conditions even with lubrication because of its severe adhesive wear tendency. The surface modifications through texturing and surface coating were used to enhance the surface properties of the titanium alloy substrate. Hard and wear resistant coatings such as TiAlN and AlCrN were applied over textured titanium alloy surfaces with chromium as interlayer. To improve the friction and wear resisting performance of hard coatings further, solid lubricant, molybdenum disulphide (MoS2), was deposited on dimples made over hard coatings. Unidirectional sliding wear tests were performed with pin on disc contact geometry, to evaluate the tribological performance of coated substrates. The tests were performed under three different normal loads for a period of 40 min at sliding velocity of 2 m/s. The tribological behaviours of multi-layer coatings such as coating structure, friction coefficient and specific wear rate were investigated and analyzed. The lower friction coefficient of approximately 0.1 was found at the early sliding stage, which reduces the material transfer and increases the wear life. Although, the friction coefficient increased to high values after MoS2 coating was partially removed, substrate was still protected against wear by underlying hard composite layer.  相似文献

In this study, the effect of counterbody on the dry sliding wear behavior of plasma sprayed calcia-stabilized zirconia coating was investigated. The commercial ZrO2-5CaO coating powder (Metco 201NS, −53 + 11 μm) was deposited onto the surface of AISI 316L substrate using Atmospheric Plasma Spray method. Dry sliding wear tests were performed with Al2O3 and WC-Co counterbody balls at different loads (5 N, 10 N and 15 N) and sliding speeds (10 mm/s, 20 mm/s and 30 mm/s) using a ball-on-disc device. From the test results, the COF values obtained from the Al2O3 ball were recorded to be lower than that of the WC-Co ball especially at 20 N and 30 N loads. The sliding speed did not cause a remarkable change in the COF values of the wear tests performed with both counterbody balls. However, in the case of WC-Co ball, COF values also increased especially with increasing the load from 5 N to 10 N at the 20 mm/s of sliding speed. In general, increasing load and sliding speed led to an increase in the wear volume loss values for all the tests. When using Al2O3 ball, under the 5 N load, lots of pitting and spalling zones were observed, whereas for 10 N and 15 N loads, plastically deformed worn areas which had lots of wear debris and deep cracks were determined. As for the WC-Co ball, the plastic deformation was observed as the predominant wear mechanism as well as the swelling-induced spallation and delamination. In addition, the wear mechanisms identified as a result of this study were explained by associating them with the Hertzian contact theory.  相似文献
