Summary For the purpose of elucidating copolymerizability of ethylene glycol bis(methyl fumarate), a new multifunctional monomer,
its free-radical Copolymerization with N-vinylcarbazole has been studied. The results show that free-radical Copolymerization
of ethylene glycol bis(methyl fumarate) with N-vinylcarbazole produces soluble copolymers at low conversions, the compositions
of which vary from 1∶1 to increasingly VCZ rich (below 2.0) with an increase in the VCZ content in the monomer feed. It is
suggested that 1∶1 alternating Copolymerization proceeds and that cyclo-propagation becomes predominant when the monomer feed
composition becomes rich in VCZ. Gelation occurs at relatively high conversions. 相似文献

Copolymerization of acrylamide with N-[3-(N′-diethyl-N′-methyl)-ammonium-n-propyl]-maleinimide-methylsulfate in acetone/water with persulfate as initiator gives powdered cationic polymers with high molecular mass; they show good water solubility and very good flocculation ability. The copolymer has the same composition as the used monomer mixture. Yield and molecular mass of the copolymer increase with increasing quantity of acetone (up to 52 vol-%) in the solvent mixture. 相似文献

Surface modification of Ar plasma-pretreated poly(tetrafluoroethylene) (PTFE) films was carried out via UV-induced graft Copolymerization with glycidyl methacrylate (GMA), acrylamide (AAm) and hydroxylethylacrylate (HEA) to improve the adhesion strength with sputtered indium-tin-oxide (ITO). The surface compositions of the graftcopolymerized PTFE films were studied by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The graft yield increases with increasing monomer concentration and Ar plasma pre-treatment time of the PTFE films. The T-peel adhesion strength was affected by the type of monomer used for graft Copolymerization, the graft concentration, and the thermal post-treatment after ITO deposition. A double graft-copolymerization process, which involved initially the graft copolymeri/ation with AAm or HEA, followed by graft Copolymerization with GMA. was also employed to enhance the adhesion of sputtered ITO to PTFE. T-peel adhesion strengths in excess of 8 N cm were achieved in the ITO graft-modified PTFE laminates. The adhesion failure of the ITO/PTFE laminates in T-peel tests was found to occur inside the PTFE films. The electrical resistance of ITO on all graft-modified PTFE surfaces before and after thermal post-treatment remained conslant at about 30 Ω square, suggesting that the graft layer did not have any significant effect or. the electrical properties of the deposited ITO. 相似文献

N-(p-methylstyryl)-(1R,2S)-ephedrine is prepared by alkylation of p-chloromethylstyrene under conditions which do not favor quaternization. A series of Copolymerization reactions confirm that the new chiral monomer and styrene copolymerize in random fashion with r1=1.09 and r2=0.98. The optical rotation of the copolymers does not vary linearly with composition. Applications of the copolymer include its use as chiral ligand for asymmetric synthesis or as a separation medium. 相似文献

The kinetics of the copolymerization of alpha-methyl styrene (AMS) and butyl acrylate (BA) have been studied for the first time. Reactivity ratios for the system have been assessed over a range of temperatures (60-140 °C). Copolymerization models that account for monomer depropagation have been considered in order to determine the importance of depropagation effects for the chosen set of reaction conditions. Full conversion range experiments have been carried out to assess the effects of feed composition, temperature and initiator concentration on polymerization kinetics. 相似文献

grafted onto silica in the form of a functionalized polymer and oligomer, respectively. Two methods were used: A) Copolymerization
of phosphine-functionalized monomers with a vinyl compound previously attached to silica; and B) Polymerization of phosphine-functionalized
monomers using a radical initiator previously attached to silica. The resulting materials were characterized by FTIR, DTA-TGA,
specific surface area (SBET) and XPS. The best results in grafting percent and molecular weight of the grafts were obtained by method B.

Copolymerization of acrylic acid and 3-[tris(trimethylsilyloxy)silyl]propyl methacrylate (TMSPMA) in supercritical carbon dioxide was successfully carried out. The products were obtained in the form of dry white powder with diameter about 0.2 μm. Viscosities of 2% aqueous solution of the copolymers dramatically increased as the content of TMSPMA in the copolymer increased and it was much higher than that of poly(acrylic acid). In addition, the viscosity of the copolymers showed a strong dependence on pH with a maximum at pH 5.0, which is due to the cooperation of intermolecular association and electrostatic repulsion. 相似文献

Three phenylphosphine oxide (PPO) containing trifluorovinyl aryl ether monomers were synthesized and polymerized via thermal cyclodimerization affording perfluorocyclobutyl (PFCB) polymers containing PPO pendent groups. The new polymers exhibited moderate to high glass transition temperatures (Tg=145-217 °C) and good thermal stability in nitrogen (5% weight loss, Td>402 °C). Copolymerization with traditional PFCB forming monomers such as 4,4′-(trifluorovinyloxy)biphenyl resulted in film forming transparent thermoplastic copolymers with improved solubility and further enhanced thermal stability. Semi-fluorinated PPO containing polymers of this type may find potential application as space environment durable materials. 相似文献

Copolymerization of ethylene with (2-(4-vinylphenyl)ethene-1,1,2-triyl) tribenzene is conducted by using a metallocene catalyst, giving an ethylene copolymer containing tetraphenylethene unit. The result of NMR shows that the tetraphenylethene unit is distributed in isolation in the polymer chain, and the melting point of the copolymer decreases linearly with the increase of the comonomer incorporation. The copolymer can emit blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light, and the intensity increases with the increase of the comonomer incorporation. The fluorescence of flakes made of the copolymer gradually becomes weaker when the temperature is raised. When the temperature is higher than the melting point of the copolymer, the fluorescence is almost invisible. 相似文献

Poly(vinyl carbamates) and poly(vinyl carbonates) of high molecular weight have been obtained by polymerization of the corresponding monomers prepared from vinyl chloroformate. Poly(vinyl carbonates) can also be prepared by chemical modification of poly(vinyl chloroformate) with alcohols and phenols. Copolymerization parameters of phenyl vinyl carbonate with vinyl acetate have been determined in methylene chloride, at 35°C, with dicyclohexyl peroxydicarbonate as initiator. 相似文献
