Project Management Process Maturity (PM)2 Model

This paper presents the project management process maturity (PM)2 model that determines and positions an organization’s relative project management level with other organizations. The comprehensive model follows a systematic approach to establish an organization’s current project management level. Each maturity level consists of major project management characteristics, factors, and processes. The model evolves from functionally driven organizational practices to project driven organization that incorporates continuous project learning. The (PM)2 model provides an orderly, disciplined process to achieve higher levels of project management maturity.     

Nursing case management and its role in perinatal risk reduction: development, implementation, and evaluation of a culturally competent model for African American women

The authors outline the need for comprehensive perinatal services management for African American pregnant women, based on social/environmental stressors, and propose a workable model for delivery of services based on case management principles. The implications of case management as an intervention to ameliorate these stressors are discussed. Data from 5 years of comprehensive case management are included to support the effectiveness of case management as an intervention among high-risk women. Steps utilized to develop, implement, and evaluate case management are also discussed.     

Preparing to automate the case management process

In this article, the authors discuss case management automation and the preparation that an organization should be making to install such a system successfully. They begin with a discussion of the goals of case management automation, and then review the steps that all facilities with case management programs can undertake to standardize their process, structure their organization, and strategically plan for case management automation. The current status of case management automation efforts also is discussed. The authors conclude by describing the efforts of one organization to develop an integrated case management documentation system.

后勤管理对企业发展产生重要的影响,完善后勤管理制度,提高后勤流程化管理水平,对国有大中型企业的全面发展会产生很大影响.后勤管理需要坚持扁平化管理模式,通过管理模式创新,可以更好地优化业务流程,从根本上提升后勤管理的整体效益.后勤管理需要把重心转移到过程管理轨道上,按照流程化管理的具体要求,提升后勤管理整体水平.     

Risk Management in the Chinese Construction Industry

There has been an increase in research on risk management practice in the construction industry. However, little research has been conducted to systematically investigate the overall aspects of risk management on the perspectives of various project participants. This paper reports the findings of an empirical Chinese industry survey on the importance of project risks, application of risk management techniques, status of the risk management system, and the barriers to risk management, which were perceived by the main project participants. The risk management strategies adopted in the Three Gorges Project were also studied. The study reveals that: Most project risks are commonly of concern to project participants; the industry has shifted from risk transfer to risk reduction; current risk management systems are inadequate to manage project risks; and lack of joint risk management mechanisms is the key barrier to adequate risk management. Future studies should be conducted to systematically improve the risk management in construction by different approaches that facilitate equitable sharing of rewards through effective risk management among participants. Such studies should also consider the establishment of an open communication risk management process to permit the corporate experience of all participants, as well as their personal knowledge and judgment, to be effectively utilized.
