A novel CPW-fed wideband planar monopole antenna with a symmetrically slope ground plane is proposed. By choosing the suitable slope angle of this symmetrically slope ground plane, wideband operation can be obtained. From the experimental results, the operating mode has an impedance bandwidth of about 1162 MHz (1700-2862 MHz) that covers the DCS band (1710-1880 MHz), PCS band (1850-1990 MHz), 3G band (1920-2170 MHz), and Bluetooth band (2400-2483 MHz). The proposed antenna within these operating bands has similar monopole-like radiation patterns. It is suitable for application to wireless communication systems with its relatively low profile.  相似文献

提出了一种基体背面有电磁带隙结构的倒“T”形双频微带天线。研究发现该天线具有双频带特性,其双频工作频率分别为2.4 GHz和5.2 GHz,相应的带宽为805 MHz (2.099~2.944 GHz) 和831 MHz (4.568~5.409 GHz),增益达到3.1 dBi。仿真和测试结果基本吻合,表明该天线可以很好地满足WLAN工作频段标准要求,具有很好的应用前景。  相似文献

A printed dual-band C-shaped monopole antenna with a shorted parasitic element is proposed. The proposed antenna can provide two separate impedance bandwidths of 156 MHz (about 6.4% centred at 2.45 GHz) and 2048 MHz (about 37% centred at 5.5 GHz), making it easily cover the required bandwidths for wireless local area network (WLAN) operation in the 2.4 GHz band (about 3.4% bandwidth required) and 5.2/5.8 GHz bands (about 13% bandwidth required). Furthermore, the proposed antenna shows a low-profile of 635 mm above the ground plane. Details of the proposed antenna design and experimental results are presented and discussed.  相似文献

A multiband handset antenna combining a PIFA and multiple slots on a ground plane is presented. It is shown by means of simulations that the slots on the ground plane have a double function: to tune the ground plane resonance at low frequencies (f ap 900 MHz) and to act as parasitic radiators at high frequencies (f ap 1800 MHz). A prototype is designed and built featuring a behavior suitable for low frequencies (GSM850 and GSM900) and for high frequencies spanning from DCS1800 to Bluetooth, and including, for instance, PCS1900, UMTS2000, and other possible systems. Reflection coefficient, efficiency, and radiation patterns are measured and compared with a design without slots to prove the advantages of the slotted ground plane. The component effect is investigated to determine critical areas where the placement is not recommended. Besides, the effect of the slot of the ground plane on SAR is investigated, by discussing the effect of the ground plane and slot modes for two phone positions. The total antenna volume of the proposed design is 40 times 15 times 6 mm3.  相似文献

A compact low-profile UWB monopole antenna is proposed to operate from 50 MHz up to 2 GHz. The developed double-ellipse inverted-hat antenna (IHA) is 15 inches in aperture, 6 inches tall, and achieves 215 dBi gain at 75 MHz (when it is λ/10 in aperture size) in the presence of a finite 21 inch diameter ground plane, with the corresponding frequency being 50 MHz for an infinite ground plane. Calculated and measured gain data are given with reasonable agreement. The tripleellipse IHA is investigated to resolve impedance matching issues at higher frequencies. Gain performance against antenna height and aperture are also studied. The proposed antenna is especially suited for small unmanned aerial vehicles.  相似文献

The design and analysis of an ultrawideband and low-profile hybrid electromagnetic band-gap (EBG)/ferrite ground plane is presented for implementation with antenna systems in airborne foliage penetrating radar and EW applications. The hybrid EBG/ferrite ground plane consists of an EBG structure with a ferrite slab placed on top of the structure's perfect electric conductor (PEC) ground plane. Reflectivity and phase analyses show that the hybrid EBG/ferrite ground plane offers ultrawideband operation beginning in the 100s of MHz with one design version offering an operational bandwidth exceeding 22:1 starting at 170 MHz. Additionally, analysis of the hybrid ground plane implemented with dipole antennas verifies that the hybrid ground plane effectively produces uni-directional radiation for bi-directional radiating antennas. The designed hybrid ground plane is also simulated with Raytheon's long slot array antenna and the obtained results further verify its ultrawideband performance  相似文献

An internal modified monopole antenna for DVB-H band is presented. By extending the feeding line of the modified monopole and locating it over a ground plane, a wideband input impedance of 328 MHz within 6:1 VSWR is achieved. The proposed antenna has an approximately omnidirectional radiation pattern and yields greater than -3 dBi antenna gain covering DVB-H band. A novel side-feed planar monopole antenna capable of triple-frequency operation at about 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz is presented. The planar monopole antenna occupies a small area of 6/spl times/31 mm, and is easily made using thin copper. The planar monopole antenna can be side-fed and mounted perpendicularly to the main circuit board of a communication device so that it offers a novel design with a free degree of feed point so as to save device space, resulting in a low profile to the system ground plane. In addition, the obtained impedance bandwidths of the proposed antenna at about 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz can cover the GSM (890-960 MHz), DCS (1710-1880 MHz) and PCS (1850-1990 MHz) bands.  相似文献

A microstrip antenna with broadband circular polarisation (CP) is presented. The proposed microstrip antenna has a circular patch and is excited by a series microstrip-line-feed configuration through the coupling of a ring slot in the ground plane. The broadband operation is achieved by coupling two CP resonant elements, which are due to the circular patch and the ring slot, respectively. A typical prototype using foam material of thickness 5 mm as the antenna substrate is constructed. Measured results show the 3 dB-axial-ratio bandwidth centred at 2500 MHz is more than 10%.  相似文献

A broadband probe-fed patch antenna with a novel three-dimensional (3D) U-shaped ground plane is proposed and experimentally studied. The proposed antenna has a thick air substrate, and by placing the two flanges of the U-shaped ground plane in parallel to and at a suitable distance from the radiating edges of the antenna's radiating patch, a wide impedance bandwidth (>25%) with much reduced cross-polarization radiation can be obtained, compared to the case with a conventional planar ground plane. A compact and simple coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed monopole antenna for 5 GHz wireless communication is proposed. By properly adjusting the lengths of both the monopole strip and the inverted L-shaped ground, the designed antenna, with, including ground plane, only 9/spl times/9.5 mm/sup 2/, can operate at the desired 5.2 or 5.8 GHz band. The electromagnetic coupling effect between the radiating strip and the ground on excitation of the resonant mode has been studied. Prototypes of the proposed antenna have been constructed and experimentally studied. Measured results show a -10 dB impedance bandwidth and an average antenna gain of 400 MHz and >6 dBi, respectively.  相似文献

设计了一种小型双阻带的超宽带天线。采用由两个半椭圆和一个长条矩形复合的一种新型地板结构,从而实现了超宽带天线小型化。通过开双U型缝隙实现了双阻带特性,阻带带宽分别是540 MHz和610 MHz。天线实物测量结果表明,天线驻波比<2的带宽为2.7~12 GHz,在整个频段内天线增益较高,同时方向图全向特性良好。天线的测量结果和仿真结果有较好的一致性。  相似文献

A compact and novel modified planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) for dual ISM-band application is proposed. The proposed antenna, including a small ground plane, occupies a volume of 20/spl times/23.7/spl times/0.8 mm/sup 3/ (FR-4). The impedance bandwidth with 10 dB return loss is about 150 MHz (2380-2530 MHz) for 2.4 GHz band and 1450 MHz (5130-6580 MHz) for 5 GHz band. The measured radiation patterns are approximately omnidirectional and yield a gain of 1.0 dBi at 2440 MHz and 3.98 dBi at 5600 MHz, respectively.  相似文献

This paper presents development of a new planar spiral feed for a satellite boresight reference antenna, operating at two widely separated frequency bands (2200–2300 MHz and 8000–8400 MHz). A stepped ground plane cavity with different quarter wavelength distances is proposed to provide unidirectional patterns at these frequency bands. A back lobe suppression of around 12 dB in 2 GHz band and better than 15 dB in 8 GHz band with a measured on-axis axial ratio of less than 3 dB is achieved for the dual band planar spiral feed with stepped ground plane cavity configuration. A boresight reflector antenna employing this feed has measured beamwidths of 7 degrees and 1.8 degrees respectively and gain of 26 dBi and 36 dBi at 2250 MHz and 8200 MHz.   相似文献

A multiband printed monopole slot antenna promising for operating as an internal antenna in the thin-profile laptop computer for wireless wide area network (WWAN) operation is presented. The proposed antenna is formed by three monopole slots operated at their quarter-wavelength modes and arranged in a compact planar configuration. A step-shaped microstrip feedline is applied to excite the three monopole slots at their respective optimal feeding position, and two wide operating bands at about 900 and 1900 MHz are obtained for the antenna to cover all the five operating bands of GSM850/900/1800/1900/UMTS for WWAN operation. The antenna is easily printed on a small-size FR4 substrate and shows a length of 60 mm only and a height of 12 mm when mounted at the top edge of the system ground plane or supporting metal frame of the laptop display. A compact square patch antenna with reconfigurable circular polarization (CP) at 2.4 GHz is proposed. Circular polarization is generated by an arc‐shaped slot on the ground plane. In order to switch the CP orientation, the current flow direction of the patch is reconfigured via the PIN diodes mounted on the slot. As the slot and bias circuit are not placed on the patch side, the proposed antenna radiates a CP wave without alteration in the main beam direction. From the experimental results, the impedance and CP bandwidths of the proposed antenna have been demonstrated for up to 80 MHz and 25 MHz, respectively.  相似文献

A modified contour integral method coupled with segmentation method has been used, for the first time, to analyze both the Sierpinski fractal carpet (SFC) antennas of different orders and an SFC antenna with electromagnetic band gap (EBG) ground plane. The close agreement between the calculated and measured results for resonant frequencies and input return losses indicates that this technique can be used to accurately predict the impedance characteristic. A novel stacked microstrip Sierpinski carpet fractal antenna using the EBG ground plane is also presented. Comparing to an ordinary microstrip fractal antenna, which has a maximum bandwidth of approximately 2%, the proposed antenna has a higher input impedance bandwidth of nearly 9%. The radiation patterns of the proposed antenna are improved due to the removal of unwanted radiation caused by the surface wave. The experimental measurement results of the proposed antenna are presented in this paper.  相似文献

A circular slot antenna fed by a coplanar waveguide (CPW) is proposed for dual-band operations. Dual frequency bands that cover the 2.4 GHz (2400-2484 MHz) and 5 GHz (5150-5825 MHz) bands were obtained by embedding a pair of slits in the circular back-patch that is printed on the backside of the substrate and concentric with the circular slot. This design resulted in broadside far-field patterns with low cross-polarisation levels in both frequency bands and a small antenna size of 40/spl times/40 mm with the ground plane regarded as part of the antenna structure.  相似文献
