Windows和应用程序安装的一些硬件和自启动服务我们不常使用,对于这种硬件和服务,在平时停用它,在使用的时候再去启动它,显然会节约大量的系统资源。但是停用和启用这些硬件和服务,需要到控制面板中打开设备管理器和服务管理窗口,非常麻烦,能不能创建一个快捷方式,在桌面上快速启动和停用这些硬件和服务呢？

基于元素和化学键的快速计算分子体积和表面积的方法

为了快速准确的计算分子的体积和表面积参数,将构成分子的元素和化学键作为贡献单元,基于分子的体积和表面积由相应的元素和化学键的体积和表面积加和得到的思想,提出了估算化合物分子体积和表面积的元素和化学键贡献法。元素视作球体,其体积和表面积由van der Waals半径计算得到,在1412种有机物分子体积和表面积数据的基础上,回归得到化学键对分子体积和表面积的贡献值。结果表明,元素和化学键贡献法计算的分子体积和表面积的平均相对误差分别为2.02%、2.84%,不同化合物类型的平均相对误差均小于5%。与其它分子体积和表面积方法相比较,本方法更简单、快速、准确,应用范围更广。

Understanding the Philosophical Underpinnings of Software Engineering Research in Information Systems

The Information Systems (IS) discipline, and related research, focuses on the development, understanding, and use of technology to meet business needs. Technology, in particular software, is the basis for IS research, making software engineering a critical component of research in the IS domain. While the importance of software development is well accepted, what constitutes high quality software engineering research is not well defined. Perhaps this is because some software development clearly is not research and it is hard to distinguish between pure application development, and systems development that pushes the boundaries of knowledge. Sir Karl Popper argued that the scientific quality of research is not based on its empirical method, but on the nature of the questions asked. Our research suggests that software engineering can meet Popper's criteria for scientific research.Drawing on well-established research philosophies, we propose a software engineering research methodology (SERM) and discuss the utility of this methodology for contributing to and expanding the IS body of knowledge. We also describe the considerations that need to be addressed by SERM to enhance acceptability of software engineering research in IS. Our suggestions are corroborated with a review of current IS software engineering research reported in leading IS journals.     

On the benefits of interrelating computer science and the humanities: The case of metaphor

If there is to be a new, substantive area of teaching and research that combines competence in specific areas of the humanities with computer science understandings and skills, such teaching and research needs to be led by persons who themselves are competent in both the humanities and in computer science, rather than by a team of persons who represent a division of labors along the lines of idea persons and technical persons. The new kind of teaching and research that might result is pointed to by describing a connectionist, neural network approach to the study of metaphor.Christian Koch is associate professor of computer science at Oberlin College with teaching and research interests in the area of the interrelationship of computing and the liberal arts (from physics to philosophy).     

Research in software engineering: an analysis of the literature

In this paper, we examine the state of software engineering (SE) research from the point of view of the following research questions:

• 1.What topics do SE researchers address?
• 2.What research approaches do SE researchers use?
• 3.What research methods do SE researchers use?
• 4.On what reference disciplines does SE research depend?
• 5.At what levels of analysis do SE researchers conduct research?

To answer those questions, we examined 369 papers in six leading research journals in the SE field, answering those research questions for each paper.From that examination, we conclude that SE research is diverse regarding topic, narrow regarding research approach and method, inwardly-focused regarding reference discipline, and technically focused (as opposed to behaviorally focused) regarding level of analysis.We pass no judgment on the SE field as a result of these findings. Instead, we present them as groundwork for future SE research efforts.     

Knowledge processes in virtual teams: consolidating the evidence

This article takes stock of the current state of research on knowledge processes in virtual teams (VTs) and consolidates the extent research findings. Virtual teams, on the one hand, constitute important organisational entities that facilitate the integration of diverse and distributed knowledge resources. On the other hand, collaborating in a virtual environment creates particular challenges for the knowledge processes. The article seeks to consolidate the diverse evidence on knowledge processes in VTs with a specific focus on identifying the factors that influence the effectiveness of these knowledge processes. The article draws on the four basic knowledge processes outlined by Alavi and Leidner (2001 Alavi, M.Leidner, D.E., 2001. Review: knowledge management and knowledge management systems: conceptual foundations and research issues. MIS Quarterly, 25 (1), 107–136. doi: 10.2307/3250961[Crossref], [Web of Science ®] , [Google Scholar]) (i.e. creation, transferring, storage/retrieval and application) to frame the investigation and discuss the extent research. The consolidation of the existing research findings allows us to recognise the gaps in the understanding of knowledge processes in VTs and identify the important avenues for future research.     

Comparing text editions with the aid of the computer

The aim of this paper is to reveal the limitations of relying on fingerprint formulas or signature positions to identify printed editions, in the manner of the STCN project. The paper proposes that scanned images of texts be used to identify editions.Ben J. P. This research was initially presented at the 4th International Conference on Verification, Model Checking, and Abstract Interpretation (VMCAI 03). The choice of papers for the issue was based on their merit as well as on the fact that, as a group, they represent the main current research areas in the field of software-based systems.
