The design and development of highly efficient and stable non-noble metal electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) have attracted increasing attention. However, some key issues related to large overpotential, high cost and poor stability at high current density still remains challenging. In this work, we report a facile in-situ integration strategy of porous Ni2P nanosheet catalysts on 3D Ni foam framework (PNi2P/NF) for efficient and stable HER in alkaline medium. The two-step method can creates high density of ultra-thin porous Ni2P nanosheets firmly rooted into Ni foam substrate which can guarantee excellent electrical contacts, strong substrate adherence and large amount of active sites. Such a binder-free flexible HER cathode exhibits superior electrocatalytic performance with an overpotential of 134 mV at current density of 10 mA cm−2. It also shows superior stability at higher current densities of 100 and 500 mA cm−2 for at least 48 h and negligible performance degradation is observed.  相似文献

Transition metal phosphides (TMPs) have been considered as cheap alternatives of precious metal platinum for electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In the past decades, many reports have indicated that the engineering of heterointerfaces between different components could efficiently enhance the activity of HER catalysts. Here, we report a facile method to construct Ni12P5–Ni2P heterostructure by using a low temperature phosphorization strategy. The obtained Ni12P5–Ni2P heterostructure shows high activity toward HER with an overpotential value of 166 mV at 10 mA cm?2 and a Tafel slope of 60 mV dec?1 in 0.5 M H2SO4. Compared with pure Ni2P and Ni12P5, the Ni12P5–Ni2P heterostructure has more active sites and faster HER kinetics due to the presence of the interfaces between Ni12P5 and Ni2P. Furthermore, we used the obtained Ni12P5–Ni2P as cathodic catalyst and IrO2/Ti as anodic material to set up a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer which shows good stability after 120 h continuous constant current electrolysis at 200 mA cm?2. This work demonstrates the positive effect of heterostructure for HER catalysts and provides a feasible strategy for constructing earth-abundant electrocatalysts.  相似文献

Developing the novel catalysts with an excellent performance of hydrogen generation is essential to facilitate the application of hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, a heterostructured cobalt phosphide/nickel phosphide/carbon cloth (CoP/Ni2P/CC) composite was fabricated via an interfacial engineering strategy to achieve the modification of CoP nanoleaf on Ni2P nanosheet skeleton supported by carbon cloth. By virtue of the unique heterostructure, abundant exposing active sites and the synergistic coupling effect of CoP and Ni2P nanoparticles, the elaborated CoP/Ni2P/CC composite exhibits a robust catalytic property. Among fabricated composites, the optimal CoP/Ni2P/CC-4 catalyst behaves an excellent HER performance at a wide pH range (overpotentials of 67, 71 and 95 mV to afford 10 mA cm?2 in 0.5 M H2SO4, 1 M KOH and 1 M PBS, respectively). The HER current density of this composite shows a negligible degradation after continuous test for 24 h. Charmingly, the HER process of this catalyst was innovatively applied to reduce graphene oxide, and thus exploiting the fabrication route of reduced graphene oxide (rGO). We are sure that this work will provide a firm guideline for the exploitation of pH-universal HER catalysts and the exploration of HER application.  相似文献

Efficient, robust and low-cost hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) electrodes are highly desirable for realizing the hydrogen economy. Transition metal nitrides with suitable hydrogen adsorption energy have been demonstrated as excellent HER catalysts. Here, we report a simple one-step nitridation method to fabricate Ni3N nanorod arrays on nickel foam (NF) for electrocatalytic water splitting. Large specific surface area and good conductivity endow the self-supported Ni3N/NF electrode extremely low overpotential of η10 = 45 mV and excellent cycle stability for the HER in 1 M KOH aqueous solution. Based on theoretical calculations, it is further verified that nitridation effectively endows NF more suitable free energy for hydrogen adsorption, which leads to an advanced HER activity of Ni3N/NF.  相似文献

It is essential to search highly active, steady and cheap non-noble electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). At present, nickel phosphides are extensively used in electrochemical hydrogen evolution due to its excellent stability and activity. Hence, we report a facile, effective and feasible strategy to synthesis of Ni5P4 nanosheets/nanoparticles structure on carbon cloth, which was fabricated by electroless nickel plating on carbon cloth followed via straightforward thermal phosphidation treatment with NaH2PO2 as phosphorus source. The as-prepared CC@Ni–P electrocatalyst exhibits HER activity with low overpotentials (93 mV vs. RHE) to attain current density 10 mA/cm2 as well as small Tafel slope (58.2 mV/dec), which outperforms most nickel phosphides electrocatalysts. The excellent HER performance can be ascribed to the large electrochemically active surface area, and phosphorus-rich Ni5P4 phase can supply further bridges sites of Ni and P. Significantly, as-prepared CC@Ni–P catalyst electrode exhibits no apparent HER activity decay after continuous stability test. Beyond that, the approach can be readily used to fabricate large size (5 × 5 cm) nickel phosphide electrocatalyst with excellent HER performance, which may be conducive to the proton exchange membrane (PEM) water electrolyser applications in future. This work opens an effective way to construct excellent performance transition-metal phosphides for HER.  相似文献

Metal phosphide structures have been widely explored for electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) owing to their high activity and durability, and the phosphidation reaction is very important for the preparation of metal phosphides. In this paper, we reported a facile, effective, and practical phosphidation strategy to prepare nickel phosphide structures by placing a Ni foam above the red phosphorus powder with a distance of 1 cm in a covered crucible. As-prepared self-supported hierarchical Ni5P4/NiP2 biphase porous nanosheets exhibited an excellent HER activity. The overpotential for a current density of 10 mA/cm2 and the Tafel slope are as low as 92 mV and 52.8 mV/dec, respectively, both of which are much better than those delivered by the Ni5P4 nanosheets prepared by the conventional carry-gas upstream-downstream method. The complete phosphidation reaction, high electrochemically active surface area, and the Ni5P4/NiP2 biphasic synergistic effect account for the outstanding HER performance. Moreover, the porous Ni5P4/NiP2 nanosheets exhibited excellent stability under both accelerated degradation test and long-term durability test. Besides, this method can be employed to prepare large-area self-supported hierarchical porous Ni5P4/NiP2 nanosheets with nearly same HER activities and long-term stability, suggesting a high potential for practical application.  相似文献

As a two-dimensional material, molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) exhibits great potential to replace metal platinum-based catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). However, poor electrical conductivity and low intrinsic activity of MoS2 limit its application in electrocatalysis. Herein, we prepare a defective-MoS2/rGO heterostructures material containing 1T phase MoS2 and evaluate its HER performance. The experimental results shown that defective-MoS2/rGO heterostructures exhibits outstanding HER performance with a low overpotential at 154.77 mV affording the current density of 10 mA cm?2 and small Tafel slope of 56.17 mV dec?1. The unique HER performance of as-prepared catalyst can be attributed to the presence of 1T phase MoS2, which has more active sites and higher intrinsic conductivity. While the defects of as-prepared catalyst fully expose the active sites and further improve catalytic activity. Furthermore, the interaction between MoS2 and rGO heterostructures can accelerate electron transfer kinetics, and effectively ensure that the obtained catalyst displays excellent conductivity and structural stability, so the as-prepared catalyst also exhibits outstanding electrochemical cycling stability. This work provides a feasible and effective method for preparation of defective-MoS2/rGO heterostructures, which also supplies a new strategy for designing of highly active and conductive catalysts for HER.  相似文献

The design and manufacture of effective non-noble metal catalysts for the H2 evolution reaction (HER) are urgent for realizing a cost-effective hydrogen production. We report herein on flower-like structures consisting of NiCoP–CoP heterostructural nanowires grown directly on the hierarchically porous nickel framework (NiCoP–CoP/Ni/NF) to achieve a highly efficient HER in alkaline solution (1.0 M KOH). The NiCoP–CoP/Ni/NF is synthesized by electrodeposition of porous Ni layers on Ni foam, followed by simple hydrothermal reaction and phosphorization. For HER, the binder-free NiCoP–CoP/Ni/NF electrode can reach 10 mA cm?2 current density at a quite low overpotential of 49 mV, because of the combination of porous Ni layers and highly active NiCoP–CoP nanowires. In addition, the NiCoP/CoP heterostructures exhibited remarkable stability under the long-term durability test. This work provides a new strategy that combines electrodeposition and hydrothermal reaction to synthesize effective HER catalysts.  相似文献

Integrating transition metal complexes with carbon-based materials, especially graphene, is a useful strategy for synthesizing effective hydrogen evolution catalysts. Herein, we report a design of hollow hexagonal NiSe–Ni3Se2 nanosheets grown on reduced graphene oxide (NiSe–Ni3Se2/rGO) by a simple hydrothermal method as an effective catalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in the full pH range. In 0.5 M H2SO4, the NiSe–Ni3Se2/rGO possesses 112 mV to achieve 10 mA cm?2 and a small Tafel slope (61 mV dec?1). In 1.0 M PBS and 1.0 M KOH, the overpotentials are 261 and 188 mV at 10 mA cm?2, and Tafel slopes are 103 and 92 mV dec?1, respectively. Meanwhile, it owns good cycle stability and durability over 20 h in the whole pH range (0-14). In all solutions, the HER performance of NiSe–Ni3Se2/rGO is better than that of NiSe–Ni3Se2. This is because the rGO substrate accelerates the electron transfer and improves the electrical conductivity, increasing HER activity of catalyst.  相似文献

Interface engineering is considered as an effective strategy to improve the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance of electrocatalysts. Herein, the Ni0.85Se/Ni3S2 heterostructure grown on nickel foam (NF) is synthesized via successive wet-chemical processes. The obtained Ni0.85Se/Ni3S2 heterostructure is firstly investigated as an HER electrocatalyst in alkaline media and exhibits more excellent electrochemical properties over Ni3S2. And it delivers a low overpotential of 145 mV at a current density of ?10 mA cm?2, and superior stability. Based on the analysis of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM) and X-ray photoelectron spectra (XPS), the enhanced HER activity is due to the modulation of surface electronic structure, ascribing from the construction of heterointerface between Ni0.85Se and Ni3S2. Meanwhile, the Ni0.85Se/Ni3S2 heterostructure prepared in this work is also verified to be employed as a promising alternative to noble metal catalysts in HER.  相似文献

Ultrafine Ni2P/Co2P nanoparticles encapsulated in hollow porous N-doped carbon nanospheres are synthesized through a facile two-step access. Firstly, metallic Ni and Co coated by hollow N-doped spheres as precursors are obtained through a high temperature calcination route of organic polymer and inorganic Ni and Co salts. Then bimetal Ni2P/Co2P supported on N-doped carbon nanospheres are acquired by a facile phosphorization process. It is worth to note that aniline-pyrrole polymer can prevent fast growth and severe aggregation of Ni2P/Co2P, which implies more exposed active sites. Moreover, the calcination of hollow polymer spheres lead to the formation of ultrathin NC shell on the surface of Ni2P/Co2P hybrids, which can tune electronic structures, improve the conductivity and protect active sites from corrosion in harsh conditions. When used as HER catalyst, it displays remarkable catalytic activity in both acidic and alkaline solutions, which needs an onset potential of only 164 mV and 168 mV, respectively. Therefore, this work may propose a new strategy to design unique inorganic-organic heterostructures to combine ultrafine metal phosphides with porous carbon for efficient HER.  相似文献

On account of on the dominant performance of Ni2P, rGO and g-C3N4 itself, with a view to conquer the disadvantages of Ni2P, rGO and g-C3N4 its own, the g-C3N4/rGO/Ni2P is successfully designed and prepared by a simple hydrothermal reaction, which is used in dye-sensitized system for high-efficient photocatalytic H2 evolution. The rGO is adhered to the outside appearance of the g-C3N4 nanosheets and fish-scale shape Ni2P is anchored on the surface of rGO and g-C3N4. The above three forms a synergistic effect. The maximum amount of H2 evolution reaches about 266 μmol for 5 h over the g-C3N4/rGO/Ni2P photocatalyst when the content of rGO is 8%, which is 10.6 times higher than g-C3N4. Synergy between the above three materials is certified by some characterizations and the results of which are consistent with each other. In addition, the possible mechanism of photocatalytic hydrogen production is proposed.  相似文献

Seawater is the most abundant resource on earth, so developing cost-effective, highly durable corrosion resistance and efficient electrocatalysts are crucial to enhance seawater splitting. Herein, we prepared 3D bristlegrass-like Co-doped Ni2P (Co-Ni2P) composites supported on Ni foam (NF) through a facile solvothermal method combined and a subsequent phosphatization treatment. Benefiting from the unique structure, Co-Ni2P shows excellent electrocatalytic activity as an electrode material for both the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER, low overpotential of 116 mV at 50 mA cm?2) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER, low overpotential of 266 mV at 50 mA cm?2). Moreover, the as-prepared Co-Ni2P composites exhibit excellent stability and corrosion resistance in an alkaline medium. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were employed to evaluate the H1 adsorption of Co-Ni2P, and the results proved the high catalytic activity for the HER. This study provides new materials with a unique morphology for overall water splitting.  相似文献

Bimetallic catalysts possess unique physical and chemical properties that distinct from the individual, which offer the opportunity to ameliorate the hydrogen storage properties of MgH2. Herein, a Ni3Fe catalyst homogeneously loaded on the surface of reduced graphene oxide (Ni3Fe/rGO) was prepared based on layered double hydroxide (LDH) precursor. The novel Ni3Fe/rGO nano-catalyst was subsequently doped into MgH2 to improve its hydrogen storage performance. The MgH2-5 wt.% Ni3Fe/rGO composite requires only 100 s to reach 6 wt% hydrogen capacity at 100 °C, while for MgH2 doped with 5 wt% Ni3Fe, Ni/rGO and Fe/rGO all require more than 500 s to uptake 3 wt% hydrogen under the same condition. The onset dehydrogenation temperature of the MgH2-5 wt.% Ni3Fe/rGO composite is about 185 °C, much lower than that of the MgH2 doped with 5 wt% Ni3Fe (205 °C), Ni/rGO (210 °C) and Fe/rGO (250 °C), and it can release H2 completely even in 1000 s at 275 °C. Besides, the MgH2-5 wt% Ni3Fe/rGO displays the lowest dehydrogenation apparent activation energy of 59.3 kJ/mol calculated by Kissinger equation. The synergetic effect attributing to rGO, in-situ formed active species of Mg2Ni and Fe is in charge of the excellent catalytic effect on hydrogen storage behavior of MgH2. Meanwhile, this study supplies innovative insights to design high efficiency catalysts based on the LDH precursor.  相似文献

Developing low cost co-catalysts is crucial for both fundamental research and practical application of g-C3N4. In this work, we prepared ternary Ni2P/rGO/g-C3N4 nanotubes with different Ni2P contents for visible-light-driven photocatalytic H2 generation from triethanolamine aqueous solution. The optimal Ni2P/rGO/g-C3N4 produced H2 at a rate of 2921.9 μmol h−1 g−1, which is about 35, 16 and 9 times as large as that of g-C3N4, binary rGO/g-C3N4 and Ni2P/g-C3N4, respectively. The apparent quantum efficiency of optimal Ni2P/rGO/g-C3N4 was 5.6% at λ = 420 nm. We believe that the improved photocatalytic performance of Ni2P/rGO/g-C3N4 originates from the synergistic effect of rGO as electron transfer medium and Ni2P as reaction site, which is supported by photoelectrochemical and photoluminescence measurements. Cyclic experiment demonstrated an excellent stability of Ni2P/rGO/g-C3N4. Moreover, we further studied the effect of other nickel-based compounds by replacing Ni2P with NiS, Ni3C, and Ni3N, respectively. The order of the H2-generation rate is Ni2P/rGO/CNNT > NiS/rGO/CNNT > Ni3C/rGO/CNNT > Ni3N/rGO/CNNT, which could be reasonably explained based on Mott–Schottky plots. Our work reveals that Ni2P can be used as a promising cocatalyst for photocatalytic H2 evolution.  相似文献

Electrochemical hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) via the splitting of water has required electrocatalysts with cost-effectiveness, environmentally friendliness, high catalytic activity, and superior stability to meet the hydrogen economy in future. In this context, we report the successful synthesis of self-standing mesoporous Ni2P–MoP2 nanorod arrays on nickel foam (Ni2P–MoP2 NRs/3D-NF) through an effective phosphidization of the corresponding NiMoO4 NRs/3D-NF. The as-synthesis Ni2P–MoP2 NRs/3D-NF, as an efficient HER electrocatalyst, exhibits small overpotential of 82.2 and 124.7 mV to reach current density of 10 and 50 mA cm−2, a low Tafel slope of 52.9 mV dec−1 and it retains its catalytic performance for at least 20 h in alkaline condition. Our work also offers a new strategy in designing and using transition metal phosphide-based 3D nanoarrays catalysts with enhanced catalytic efficiency for mass production of hydrogen fuels.  相似文献

The non-precious transition metal phosphides (TMPs) as robust and effective hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) catalysts have attracted enormous attention, due to the merits of earth-abundance, low price, desirable stability and high efficiency. However, the conventional preparation process of this kind of catalyst is inconvenient. Herein, we report a facile approach toward the fabrication of nickel phosphide (Ni2P) assembled on carbon cloth (CC) via the coupling method of electroless plating and low temperature phosphorization. Then, the crystallinity, morphology and chemical component of fabricated self-supporting Ni2P/CC catalyst employed for the HER process were characterized, and the HER property was successively evaluated in three types of electrolytes (i.e., acidic, neutral and alkaline solutions). The as-prepared Ni2P/CC catalyst displays a remarkable HER performance, which can be corroborated by the small Tafel slope (b = 50 mV dec−1), high exchange current density (j0 = 6.6 × 10−2 mA cm−2), acceptable overpotential (119 mV) to attain the current density of 10 mA cm−2, as well as the superb stability (<5% decay after 24 h potentiostatic test) in 0.5 M H2SO4. In addition, it should be noted that the HER process of Ni2P/CC catalyst can be competent for the reduction of nitrate from the solution, and an efficiency of 63.2% for this nutrient pollutant is achieved.  相似文献

Self-standing and hybrid MoS2/Ni3S2 foam is fabricated as electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in alkaline medium. The Ni3S2 foam with a unique surface morphology results from the sulfurization of Ni foam showing a truncated-hexagonal stacked sheets morphology. A simple dip coating of MoS2 on the sulfurized Ni foam results in the formation of self-standing and hybrid electrocatalyst. The electrocatalytic HER performance was evaluated using the standard three-electrode setup in the de-aerated 1 M KOH solution. The electrocatalyst shows an overpotential of 190 mV at ?10 mA/cm2 with a Tafel slope of 65.6 mV/dec. An increased surface roughness originated from the unique morphology enhances the HER performance of the electrocatalyst. A density functional approach shows that, the hybrid MoS2/Ni3S2 heterostructure synergistically favors the hydrogen adsorption-desorption steps. The hybrid electrocatalyst shows an excellent stability under the HER condition for 12 h without any performance degradation.  相似文献

Nickel phosphide-based nanomaterials have been acted as efficient catalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), however, the design of novel and high performance HER catalyst is still a challenge. Herein, we report a novel 2D material black phosphorus (BP) as support for constructing Ni2P-based hybrid catalyst by a one-pot thermal decomposition approach. TEM results indicated that the monodispersed Ni2P nanoparticles with small size and good dispersion supported on the surface of layered BP, which implied that more catalytic active sites may be exposed for HER. The as-synthesized Ni2P/BP hybrid exhibits high HER electrocatalytic performance with low onset overpotential (70 mV), small Tafel slope (81 mV dec?1), large double-layer capacitance (1.24 mF cm?2), high conductivity and good stability, which can be assigned to the strong synergistic effect between Ni2P and BP. Therefore, BP may be a suitable support for constructing excellent catalysts in electrocatalysis.  相似文献

The facile synthesis and design of noble metal-free efficient catalysts to accelerate the sluggish kinetics of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is still a big challenge for electrolytic water splitting. In that context, the preparation of efficient catalysts with superior catalytic activity from cheap raw materials on a large scale is crucial. Briefly, Ni/NiO/TiO2/rGO is designed using the environmental-friendly and easily up-scalable PECVD technique. This trinary composite presents significance in regulating the crystalline structure, composition and electronic properties towards superior HER and OER activity in acidic solution as bifunctional electrocatalysts for efficient water splitting. Together with the promising long-term stability and durability, Ni/NiO/TiO2/rGO displays excellent electrocatalytic activity towards HER with η10 of 130 mv vs RHE and a Tafel slope of 40 mV/dec.  相似文献
