根据干燥传质传热学原理和干燥动力学特性,建立了水平气流带式干燥机干燥过程的数学模型。该模型可以预测干燥机合理的通风道高度、带翻转最佳时间和热风风速等。为优化多层带式干燥机的结构或设计新的水平气流带式干燥机提供了理论依据。  相似文献

Intermittent drying of materials is an alternative operation that aims at reducing energy consumption, improve the preservation of dried products or decrease effective drying time. Intermittent drying supplies the system with time-varying input air properties that are opposite to traditional operations, where air properties are constant at the dryer inlet. The major objective of this study is to establish the most satisfactory patterns of air temperature and velocity modulation at the dryer entrance to reduce energy consumption. This optimization study was based on a heterogeneous model for the drying of grains in fixed bed validated with experimental data. Intermittent and conventional operation experiments were conducted using equal energy consumption, and the influence of air temperature and velocity modulation on the drying rates related to the percentage of evaporated water were assessed. Results indicated that higher drying rates can be achieved under intermittent operation, and the validated model based on these results could reasonably predict temperature and moisture content profiles. Simulations pointed out that the best modulation patterns of air properties is a function of a variety of system conditions such as initial temperature and moisture content of both soybean and drying air. However, a tendency to reduce energy consumption was observed when the system operation is initially at high temperature and constantly at low velocity.  相似文献

The drying of moist, fine coal waste was experimentally studied using an indoor batch dryer with a constant-radiation heat source. The effect of air velocity and radiation level on the coal drying rate was investigated and an analytical correlation obtained. Outdoor direct solar drying of coal waste was studied in a 3.1 m2 dryer. The solar dryer was able to dry coal at a rate of about 14 kg of coal per day per square metre of solar collector area. The simple pay-back period for such a system is between 2.5 to 5 years.  相似文献

Abstract

This study examines the performance of a parabolic greenhouse-type solar dryer used for drying of cayenne pepper (Capsicum annuum) in Nan (northern Thailand). The dryer has a base area of 6.0?m × 8.2?m and a height of 3.25?m with the loading capacity of 100–200?kg for fruit or vegetables. It has a parabolic roof structure covered with polycarbonate sheets and is placed on a concrete floor. It is ventilated by three DC fans powered by a 50-Watt solar cell module. The produce is placed on trays with wire mesh base and located on steel supports. Among the advantages of this type of dryer is that the product is protected from rain, dust and insects. The pepper samples consisted of whole pods or cut pods. The drying experiments were carried out in the solar dryer and in an electrical (convective) tray dryer. The study was focusing on drying kinetics and on the effects of the drying treatments on one of the main quality attributes namely the capsaicin content in the dried products.  相似文献

Steady-state three-dimensional calculations of heat and mass transfer in vertical pneumatic dryer were performed. The theoretical model of the drying process is based on two-phase Eulerian-Lagrangian approach for gas-particles flow and incorporates advanced drying kinetics for wet particles. The model was utilized for simulation of the drying process of wet PVC and silica particles in a large-scale vertical pneumatic dryer. The influence of wall thermal boundary conditions was investigated by assuming either known value of the wall temperature or adiabatic flow in the dryer. Analyzing the predicted particle drying kinetics, an uneven product quality was predicted due to non-uniform drying conditions in the central and peripheral zones of the pneumatic dryer. Moreover, for the case of non-insulated chamber walls such quality unevenness was estimated to be substantially greater than for the case with thermally insulated drying chamber. The examination of the predicted temperature profiles within the silica and PVC wet particles showed that the latter is subjected to higher temperature gradients potentially resulting in the greater rate of thermally-degraded final product.  相似文献
