Ductile L20-type wires and+L12-type duplex wires with high strengths and large elongation in the Ni-Al-Fe and Ni-Al-Co ternary systems have been manufactured directly from the liquid state by an in-rotating-water spinning method. The wire diameter was in the range 80 to 180m and the average grain size was 2 to 4m for the wires and 0.2 to 1.0m for the+ wires. y, f and p of the wires were found to be about 360 to 760 MPa, 560 to 960 MPa, and 0.2 to 5.5%, respectively, for the Ni-Al-Fe system, those of the+ wires were about 395 to 660 MPa, 670 to 1285 MPa, and 3.5 to 17%, respectively, for the Ni-Al-Fe system, and about 260 to 365 MPa, 600 to 870 MPa, and 4.0 to 7.0%, respectively, for the Ni-Al-Co system. Cold-drawing caused a significant increase in y and f and the values attained were about 1850 and 2500 MPa, respectively, for Ni-20Al-30Fe and Ni-25Al-30Co wires drawn to about 90% reduction in area. The high strengths, large elongation and good cold-workability of the melt-quenched and+ compound wires have been inferred to be due to the structural change into a low-degree ordered state containing a high density of phase boundaries, suppression of grain-boundary segregation and refinement of grain size.  相似文献

A comprehensive analytical theory is presented for non-hysteretic RF SQUIDs operating in the adiabatic mode in the presence of large thermal fluctuations. When 1 ( = 2LIc/0 is the hysteresis parameter, L is the SQUID inductance, Ic is the critical current of the Josephson junction, and 0 is the flux quantum) the theory is applicable also for RF SQUIDs operating in the non-adiabatic mode. In contrast to previous theories in which the noise is treated perturbatively and which therefore are applicable only if the product 1 ( = 2kBT/ 0 Ic is the noise parameter, kB is the Boltzmann constant, and T is the absolute temperature)—the case of small thermal fluctuations—the present theory is valid for around unity or higher. In the limit 0 the theory reproduces the results of small thermal fluctuations theories. It has been found that in the presence of large thermal fluctuations the screening current in the SQUID inductance is suppressed by a factor that increases with increasing . Taking into account this new basic fact, all SQUID characteristics (output signal, transfer function, noise spectral density and energy sensitivity) have been recalculated and a good agreement with experimental data has been obtained. It has been also found that RF SQUIDs can be operated with substantially higher values of the inductance and of the noise parameter than DC SQUIDs. These two aspects, which are of particular importance at liquid nitrogen temperature, make high Tc RF SQUIDs very attractive.  相似文献

A new iterative method for elastic-plastic stress analysis based on a new approximation of the constitutive equations is proposed and compared with standard methods on the accuracy and the computational time in a test problem. The proposed method appears to be better than the conventional methods on the accuracy and comparable with others on the computational time. Also the present method is applied to a crack problem and the results are compared with experimental ones. The agreement of both results are satisfactory.List of symbols u = (u 1, u 2) displacements u (H) = u (n+1) - u (n) u k (n) = u (k (n + 1) - u (n) (n, k = 0, 1, 2, ...) - = 11, 22, 12) stresses - = (11, 22, 12) strains - = (11, 22, 12) center of yield surface - D elastic coeffficient matrix, C = D –1 - von Mises yield function. We studied the low-temperature energy gap 2 0 on Bi 2 Sr 2 CaCu 2 o 8+ (Bi2212) and La 2–x Sr x CuCO 4 (La214) systematically over a wide range of doping level p using STS, break junction tunneling spectroscopy, Raman scattering and low-T electronic specific heat data. We have also studied the electronic specific heat of La214 in the normal state at T > T c , and confirmed that pseudogap behavior appears at around T*, below which the in-plane resistivity and magnetic susceptibility tend to be slightly suppressed. Similar suppression appears in and of Bi2212 below the onset temperature of pseudogap T*. It is pointed out in the present study that 2 0 is closely related to T* in both Bi2212 and La214 systems; T* 2 0 /4.3k B . It is also pointed out that 2 0 is in almost linear proportion to k B T max ( T*), where T max is the temperature exhibiting a broad peak in –T curves and k B T max can be considered to give a measure of the effective antiferromagnetic exchange energy J eff. The factors in 2 0 k B T max J eff are 1 for La214 and 2 for Bi2212, respectively. We also report that in both Bi22l2 and La214 systems T c roughly scales with p 0 except in highly doped samples, where T c 2 0 .  相似文献

Summary The similarity solutions for free convection on a vertical plate when the (non-dimensional) plate temperature is x and when the (non-dimensional) surface heat flux is –x are considered. Solutions valid for 1 and 1 are obtained. Further, for the first problem it is shown that there is a value 0, dependent on the Prandtl number, such that solutions of the similarity equations are possible only for >0, and for the second problem that solutions are possible only for >–1 (for all Prandtl numbers). In both cases the solutions becomes singular as 0 and as –1, and the natures of these singularities are discussed.  相似文献

The athermal transformation in Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy has been investigated by transmission electron microscopy. Analysis of the selected-area diffraction pattern has shown that the orientation relationships between the omega and the parent-phase in quenched Zr-2 at.% Nb alloy are the same as have been previously observed for the reaction in pure zirconium. Thus it was deduced that the direct transition has taken place in the alloy during cooling. The-originated -particles were visualized using the dark-field technique. The formation of the athermal omega in the-region of-stabilized Zr-Nb alloy is discussed in terms of the relative positions of the free energy equilibrium curvesT 0 ,T 0 ,T 0 and the correspondingM s ,M s andT s start curves. It is concluded that the omega phase can occur over a much wider range of alloy compositions than is usually recognized on the basis of transformation data.  相似文献

The superfluid density in 4 He was determined near T from the second-sound velocity as a function of TT and pressure. The critical exponent of the superfluid density was found to depend, even slightly, on the pressure. Furthermore, the fundamental length 0 in the coherence length = 0 [1–(T/T)]–' seemed to be proportional to the mean interatomic distance. The implications of the results are also discussed. This work was partly supported by The Ito Science Foundation and by The Nishina Memorial Foundation.  相似文献

Thermophysical properties of molten semiconductors are reviewed. Published data for viscosity, thermal conductivity, surface tension, and other properties are presented. Several measurement methods often used for molten semiconductors are described. Recommended values of thermophysical properties are tabulated for Si, Ge, GaAs, InP, InSb, GaSb, and other compounds. This review shows that further measurements of thermophysical properties of GaAs and InP in the molten state are required. It is also indicated that a very limited amount of data on emissivity is available. Space experiments relating to thermophysical property measurements are described briefly.Nomenclature Density - C p Specific heat - Kinematic viscosity - Dynamic viscosity= - Thermal diffusivity - Thermal conductivity=Cp - Volumetric thermal expansion coefficient - Surface tension - d/dT Temperature coefficient of surface tension - g Gravitational acceleration - T Temperature - T Temperature difference - L Characteristic dimension  相似文献

The interaction between a dislocation and the impurity in KCl: Mg2+ (0.035 mol% in the melt) was investigated at 77–178 K with respect to the two models: one is the Fleischer's model and the other the Fleischer's model taking account of the Friedel relation. The latter is termed the F-F. The dependence of strain-rate sensitivity due to the impurities on temperature for the specimen was appropriate to the Fleischer's model than the F-F. Furthermore, the activation enthalpy, H, for the Fleischer's model appeared to be nearly proportional to the temperature in comparison with the F-F. The Friedel relation between effective stress and average length of the dislocation segments is exact for most weak obstacles to dislocation motion. However, above-mentioned results mean that the Friedel relation is not suitable for the interaction between a dislocation and the impurity in the specimen. Then, the value of H(T c) at the Fleischer's model was found to be 0.61 eV. H(T c) corresponds to the activation enthalpy for overcoming of the strain field around the impurity by a dislocation at 0 K. In addition, the Gibbs free energy, G 0, concerning the dislocation motion was determined to be between 0.42 and 0.48 eV on the basis of the following equation ln / = G 0/(kTp0)1 – (T/T c)1/2 –1(T/T c)1/2 + ln 0/where k is the Boltzmann's constant, T the temperature, T c the critical temperature at which the effective stress due to the impurities is zero, p0 the effective shear stress without thermal activation, and 0 the frequency factor.  相似文献

A glass-ceramic material was developed to act as a flow visualization material. Preliminary experiments indicate that aperiodic, thermally induced, convective flows can be sustained at normal processing conditions. These flows and the stress and temperature gradients induced are most likely responsible for the anomalous behaviour seen in these materials and the difficulties encountered in their development and in their production on industrial and experimental scales. A simple model describing the dynamics of variable-viscosity fluids was developed and was shown to be in qualitative agreement with more sophisticated models as well as with experimental results. The model was shown to simulate the dependence of the critical Rayleigh number for the onset of convection on the viscous properties of the fluid at low T, and also to simulate quenching behaviour when the temperature differences were high.Nomenclature C p Heat capacity - D, E, F Expansion coefficients - H Height of the roll cell - Pr Prandtl number - R a Rayleigh number - R c Critical Rayleigh number for the onset of convection in a constant-viscosity fluid - S Dimensionless stream function - T Temperature - T m Mean temperature - T 0 Bottom surface temperature - T r Reference temperature - a Aspect ratio of cell - g Acceleration due to gravity - k Thermal conductivity - k 1 Function related to 2v/T 2 - k 2 Function related to 4v/T 4 - r Rayleigh number ratioR a/R c - t Time - w Dimensionless vertical coordinate - w m Mean cell height - x Horizontal coordinate - y Dimensionless horizontal coordinate - z Vertical coordinate - , Constants - t Thermal expansion coefficient - Constant in viscosity function - T Temperature difference between top and bottom surfaces - i Viscosity coefficients - Kinematic viscosity - m Mean kinematic viscosity - Dimensionless kinematic viscosity - Thermal diffusivity - Non-linear temperature function - Dimensionless non-linear temperature function - o - Stream function - Dimensionless time - Eigenvalues  相似文献

Summary The effect of a thermal gradient on the transverse vibration of a prestressed rectangular plate is investigated by the method of matched asymptotic expansions. This class of heated plate is characterised by changing its Young's modulus with temperature. Analytical results for the eigenvalues are presented for fully-clamped and fully-hinged rectangular plates when the bending rigidity is small compared to the in-plane loading. To leading order in (where 2 denotes the normalized bending rigidity), the eigenvalues of an ideal membrane are obtained, independent of thermal effects.Thermal gradient effects occur in the first order correction of eigenvalues for a clamped plate while the eigenvalues of a hinged plate are affected by thermal gradient only to second order. In particular, Schneider's results are recovered when thermal gradient effects are absent.Nomenclature W' bending deflection - D(x) flexural rigidity - D 0 reference flexural rigidity - x',y' rectangular co-ordinate - E modulus of elasticity - E 1 reference modulus of elasticity - t' time - h' height of plate - a' length of plate - b' width of plate - T temperature - T 0 reference temperature - slope of variation ofE withT - parameter - L characteristic length - N 0 characteristic in-plane force - m mass per unit area - characteristic frequency - outer solution - inner solution - small parameter  相似文献

Our previous theory yielded for the Zeeman splitting of the imaginaryJ=1 collective mode in3He-B the result =2+0.25J z ( is the effective Larmor frequency). In this paper we take into account the downward shift of the pair-breaking edge from 2 to 22– (2 and 1 are the longitudinal and transverse gap parameters). This leads to a complex Landé factor: the frequencies of theJ z =±1 components become =2+0.39J z , and the linewidths of these resonances become finite: =0.18. The coupling amplitudes of theJ z =±1 components to density are found to be proportional to gap distortion, (12/(/)2. Our results for the ultrasonic attenuation due to theJ z =±1,J=1 modes are capable of explaining the field dependence of the attenuation close to the pair-breaking edge as observed by Dobbs, Saunders, et al. The observed peak is caused by theJ z =–1 component: its height increases due to gap distortion as the field is increased, and the peak shifts downward in temperature and its width increases with the field due to the complex Landé factor. TheJ z =+1 component gives rise to a corresponding dip relative to the continuum attenuation.  相似文献

In this paper the second-order differential equation with time-dependent damping coefficientx + cos (2t) x + x = 0,will be studied. In particular the coexistence of periodic solutions corresponding with the vanishing of domains of instability is investigated. The coexistence of -periodic solutions occurs for 4n 2 where n is integer. This implies that the instability area which is emanating from =4n 2 in the – stability diagram disappears. In applications, this equation can be considered as a model equation for the study of rain-wind-induced vibrations of a special oscillator.on leave as a PhD reseacher at Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands  相似文献

The LEXIMAPPE method and Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) are discussed as methods to visualize (map) characteristics of structures of word-occurrence (co-word) relations. Utilization of MDS is proposed as an alternative mapping method able to circumvent problematic features of LEXIMAPPE maps of the total co-word structure. A comparison of both methods on the same real-life co-word matrix demonstrates topological advantages of an extended MDS-mapping.  相似文献

The quasiparticle spectra and the densities of states of superconducting-normal-superconducting junctions are computed from the WKBJ transformed Bogoliubov-de Gennes Equations (BdGE), which are solved by Picard iteration and numerical integration. It is shown that the influence of the proximity effect on the bound states can be modeled by a rectangular pair potential well of effective normal layer thickness 2a*= –L L [1–(z)/]dz, where (z) is the pair potential of the junction, is its asymptotic constant value, and 2L is the total length of the sample. The density of states exhibits a subgap peak at energies less than besides the BCS peak atE=; forE> there are geometrical resonances which are due to electron-hole interferences in finiteS layers of thicknessL-a*.  相似文献

Pressure-induced metal-semiconductor transitions in bismuth-antimony alloys in a strong magnetic field (up to 70 kOe) at helium temperatures have been investigated. It is found that for values of the overlap-gap |G|1 meV the alloy forms an excitonic insulator (EI) in magnetic fields above a certain threshold (30–40 kOe). It is inferred that the EI energy gap increases with the magnetic field. The maximum gap observed in fields of 70 kOe turns out to be 007.5 K. An analysis of the results shows that transitions to the EI phase are observed from both the semimetal and the semiconducting states. The critical transition temperatureT c is related to the EI gap by the expressionT c0.7. Arguments are advanced in support of the fact that the formation of the EI phase involves the pairing of electrons at theL point with holes at theT point.  相似文献

Summary This paper deals with the transient response of one-dimensional axisymmetric quasistatic coupled thermoelastic problems. Laplace transform and finite difference methods are used to analyze the problems. Using the Laplace transform with respect to time, the general solutions of the governing equations are obtained in the transform domain. The solution is obtained by using the matrix similarity transformation and inverse Laplace transform. We obtain solutions for the temperature and thermal stress distribution in a transient state. Moreover, the computational procedures established in this article can solve the generalized thermoelasticity problem for a multilayered hollow cylinder with orthotropic material properties.Nomenclature Lame's constant - density - C v specific heat - k r ,k radial and circumferential thermal conductivity - r , linear radial and circumferential thermal expansion coefficient - E r ,E radial and circumferential Young's modulus - v r Poisson's ratio - 0 reference temperature - ,T dimensional and nondimensional temperature - r *,r dimensional and nondimensional radial coordinate - ,t dimensional and nondimensional time - r * , r dimensional and nondimensional radial stress - * , dimensional and nondimensional circumferential stress - U, u dimensional and nondimensional radial component of displacement  相似文献

The washboard frequency of the moving vortex lattice in untwinned YBa2 Cu3 O6.93 may be observed through mode-locking to an externally applied ac current of frequency ext. The interference between and ext results in jumps in the dc current-voltage characteristics when and ext are harmonically related1. The interference effect disappears in the vortex liquid state. The Hall conductivity xy below Tc in YBCO contains contributions2 from a positive quasiparticle (qp) term (H) and a negative vortex term (1/H). The qp term is surprisingly large well below Tc and implies a large gap anisotropy and a long qp mean free path (mfp). The thermal Hall effect3 xy is closely related to the qp xy; xy is produced by asymmetric scattering of qp by pinned vortices. The qp mfp at H = 0, extracted from xy and extended to low T by xy, increases remarkably from 90 Å at Tc to more than 0.5m at 22 K.  相似文献
