Ubiquitous communications - [Message from the Editor-in-Chief]

This issue includes two special topic sections. The first special topic section focuses on "Dependability Issues with Ubiquitous Wireless Access" and consists of five papers. The section looks at the factors affecting the dependability of wireless access for Internet services. The second special topic section is entitled "Recent Advances and Evolution of WLAN and WMAN Standards" and also includes five papers. The section looks from a different viewpoint at the issue of ubiquitous communications by considering the progress in IEEE data communications standards.     

IDEAS00: Iberoamerican Workshop on Requirements Engineering and Software Environments, IDEAS 2008

MEJ-LDSD 1993, 1994, 1995

This concluding issue of Microelectronics Journal for 1993 is rather like one of those three-course dinners so popular at this time of the year. For starters we have a selection of non-refereed technical articles, albeit with a strong LDSD flavour. The main course is our first special section devoted to technical papers on low dimensional structures and devices (LDSD) under the Guest Editorship of Mohamed Henini of the University of Nottingham.
