浅谈产品表面处理技术在产品设计的应用

在产品设计中,材料是实现设计创意的载体。产品造型在取得合理的功能设计后,产品材料表面的处理往往使产品形态成为更加真实、含蓄、丰富的整体,使产品以自身的形象向消费者显示其个性,向消费者感官输送各种信息,满足消费者对各种产品的新要求和新的体验。产品表面的色彩、光泽、肌理和质地等,已成为产品与消费者之间传达感情和寄托的桥梁,并引导消费者正确地识别商品,购买商品,实现产品的价值。

Using voice and print directives and warnings to supplement product manual instructions

The present research investigated the effect of supplemental messages on compliance with and recall of product manual instructions. During the unpacking of a computer disk drive supplemental messages were presented that concerned procedures to prevent product damage during installation. The supplemental messages were either presented by digitized voice (auditory) or by printed placard (visual). Two types of message were presented. Either the message gave specific warning instructions or directed users to a specific location in the product manual where the instructions were printed. Results show that the supplemental voice and print messages increased compliance behavior compared to the manual only. The voice message produced the greatest recall compared to print or no supplement. There was no effect of the warning vs directive manipulation. The results support the use of supplemental messages to communicate particularly important information. Implications for the delivery of warning instructions in product manuals are discussed.

Relevance to industry

Manufacturers are responsible for warning users about hazards associated with foreseeable use or misuse of their products. The present study shows that a supplemental print or voice message combined with a typical product manual produces significantly higher compliance than the manual alone.     

Higher-order communications for concurrent programming

In Pettorossi and Skowron (1983) a recursive-equations language is introduced. Its operational semantics is specified by means of computing agents which communicate and exchange messages. Those communications are, so to speak, zero-order, in the sense that the exchanged messages are values of a data structure, possibly defined by the programmer.

In this paper we extend that approach and we consider also ‘higher-order’ communications by allowing the exchange of agents behaviours, i.e. sets of computations, among computing agents. This extension leads to a new programming methodology which makes use of proofs of computing agents behaviours and their related strategies.     

基于KVM虚拟桌面的透明消息通道设计

云管理平台和虚拟机终端用户间的通信一般采用代理软件或插件,便捷性和抗干扰能力较低。针对该问题,利用基于内核的虚拟机(KVM)虚拟桌面,提出一种云服务提供节点(虚拟机所在物理主机)和虚拟机终端用户之间双向交互的透明消息通道设计方案。在云管理平台中建立消息控制端,用于接收和处理服务节点发往虚拟机终端用户的消息,并将消息转换为图像,使图像内容以位图像素数据格式的方式读出到特定文件中,作为消息发送模块的消息来源。通过修改KVM虚拟化平台中Qemu-KVM集成的VNC Server端源码,在源码中添加消息发送模块和反馈接收模块,将消息集成融入到虚拟机桌面图像中,并对VNC Client远程终端反馈的消息进行处理,从而得到一条对虚拟机自身系统透明的,可在云平台和终端用户间双向交互的消息通道。实验结果验证了该设计方案的可行性。     

Optimal algorithm for mutual exclusion in mesh-connected computer networks

A distributed algorithm is presented that realizes mutual exclusion among n nodes in a mesh-connected computer network. The nodes communicate by using messages only, and there is no global controller. The algorithm requires at most 3.5 √n messages per mutual exclusion invocation under light demand, and reduces to approximately four messages under heavy demand. The time required to achieve mutual exclusion is shown to be minimal under some general assumptions.     

Can eye movements be effectively measured to assess product design?: Gender differences should be considered

This study investigates the relationship between eye movements and user emotional response to product features using eighteen product images as stimuli. The stimuli are composed of unpleasant, neutral and pleasant images. Regarding the emotional design, gender difference could be a major factor that should be taken into consideration. A task-free eye-tracking experiment was conducted in which forty participants (20 males and 20 females, mean age = 35.6, SD = 6.38, range 21–48 years) looked at randomly displayed product images. The eye movements of participants were measured while viewing product images. After viewing stimuli, participants rated immediately their emotional response to the product images on a seven-point scale. The results revealed that stimuli category and gender difference, caused different variations in fixation count, fixation duration, pupil diameter, and hit ratio. For stimuli category, participants have larger fixation count, fixation duration, pupil diameter, and hit ratio in response to pleasant and neutral product images than unpleasant product images. For gender difference, the results indicated that females provided larger scores in fixation count and fixation duration, but a smaller score in hit ratio in all stimuli than that provided by males. However, the measurement of pupil diameter yielded different results. The results showed that females provided larger pupil diameter in pleasant and neutral product images but a smaller pupil diameter in unpleasant product images than that provided by males, which is consistent with the result of subjective ratings.Relevance to industryThese findings could enable industrial counselors, product designers, and academics to categorize emotional response that can be subsequently incorporated into final product design. An understanding of gender-based processing differences of product features is important to designers since it enables them to communicate with these different market segments and to produce effective products for each segment.     

一种基于模板分析的Agent信息交换方法

提出一种基于模板分析方法,说明Agent之间通信如何使用这种方法去构造和分解消息,并说明这种方法减少了在ACL上的假设和消息格式的使用。模板的应用降低了Agent之间相互操作的需求,允许Agent在一个开放的多Agent系统中通信,可以事先不考虑缺少ACL协议和消息格式要求。     

Broadcasting multiple messages in the multiport model

We consider the problem of broadcasting multiple messages from one processor to many processors in the k-port model for message-passing systems. In such systems, processors communicate in rounds, where in every round, each processor can send k messages to k processors and receive k messages from k processors In this paper, we first present a simple and practical algorithm based on variations of k complete k-ary trees. We then present an optimal algorithm up to an additive term of one for this problem for any number of processors, any number of messages, and any value for k     

Eco System: an Internet commerce architecture

Robust electronic commerce will require several proprietary systems to interoperate. CommerceNet is proposing Eco System, a cross industry effort to build a framework of frameworks, involving both e-commerce vendors and end users. Eco System will consist of an extensible object oriented framework (class libraries, application programming interfaces and shared services) from which developers can assemble applications quickly from existing components. These applications could subsequently be reused in other applications. We are also developing a Common Business Language (CBL) that lets application agents communicate using messages and objects that model communications in the real business world. A network services architecture (protocols, APIs, and data formats) will insulate application agents from each other and from platform dependencies, while facilitating their interoperation. Functionally, Eco System fills three distinct roles. It is: a layer of middleware that facilitates agent interoperation through services such as authentication, billing, payment, and directories; an object oriented development environment that encourages the reuse of e-commerce modules (even modules that represent the product line of an entire company); and an industry roadmap and interoperability example that promotes open standards and helps technology vendors communicate with end users about product features

用SOAP实现跨平台的组件的协作和重用

在生产实践过程中，有可能会在一个大的系统中遇到采用不同组件规范开发的对象和组件，这样的对象在一个大系统中共存必然要求相互通讯。因此如何实现运行在不同平台的采用不同组件规范的对象之间的通讯是一件非常有意义的尝试。本文结合实际的工作，尝试采用SOAP协议实现COM 组件和CORBA组件间的通讯。
