The adoption of a powerful and expressive coordination model represents a key-point for the effective design and development of Internet applications. In this paper, we present the TuCSoN coordination model for Internet applications based on network-aware and mobile agents, and show how the adoption of TuCSoN can positively benefit the design and development of such applications, firstly in general terms, then via a TuCSoN-coordinated sample application. This is achieved by providing for an Internet interaction space made up of a multiplicity of independently programmable communication abstractions, called tuple centres, whose behaviour can be defined so as to embody the laws of coordination.  相似文献

In this paper, distributed leader–follower control algorithms are presented for linear multi‐agent systems based on output regulation theory and internal model principle. By treating a leader to be followed as an exosystem, the proposed framework can be used to generalize existing multi‐agent coordination solutions to allow the identical agents to track an active leader with different dynamics and unmeasurable variables. Moreover, the obtained results for multi‐agent coordination control are an extension of previous work on centralized and decentralized output regulation to a distributed control context. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the distributed output regulation problem are given. Finally, distributed output regulation of some classes of multi‐agent systems with switching interconnection topologies are discussed via both static and dynamic feedback. This paper presents a generic formal framework to specify and test autonomous e‐commerce agents. First, the formalism to represent the behaviour of agents is introduced. The corresponding machinery to define how implementations can be tested follows. Two testing approaches are considered. The first of them, which can be called active, is based on stimulating the implementation under test (IUT) with a test. The peculiarity is that tests will be defined as a special case of autonomous e‐commerce agent. The second approach, which can be called passive, consists of observing the behaviour of the tested agent in an environment containing other agents. This work presents a multi‐agent system for knowledge‐based high‐level event composition, which interprets activities, behaviour and situations semantically in a scenario with multi‐sensory monitoring. A perception agent (plurisensory agent and visual agent)‐based structure is presented. The agents process the sensor information and identify (agent decision system) significant changes in the monitored signals, which they send as simple events to the composition agent that searches for and identifies pre‐defined patterns as higher‐level semantic composed events. The structure has a methodology and a set of tools that facilitate its development and application to different fields without having to start from scratch. This creates an environment to develop knowledge‐based systems generally for event composition. The application task of our work is surveillance, and event composition/inference examples are shown which characterize an alarming situation in the scene and resolve identification and tracking problems of people in the scenario being monitored.  相似文献

In distributed and open environments, MASs (multiagent systems) generally have no mechanisms for prior coordination and self‐organization has been believed to be the necessary selection to achieve the coordination of agents. This paper first presents a values‐driven model for self‐organization in which the expected emergent properties of a system are specified as the social values while the social values are realized via implicitly inducing members to regulate their individual values and adjust their behaviors to fit the expectations of the system. Based on the values‐driven self‐organization, this paper proposes an automated coordination mechanism for decentralized MASs. In this mechanism, by indirectly changing the difficulties in acquiring resources (which may be delegated to some special agents since MASs generally do not have substantial bodies), MASs can lead agents to regulate their values to be consistent with the social values of MASs so that the coordination of MASs can spontaneously emerge from the local behaviors of agents. Finally, this paper implements a simulation traffic system using the coordination mechanism based on values‐driven self‐organization to validate the emergence of coordination among multiple agents.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel consensus protocol for second‐order multi‐agent systems is elegantly designed, and it relaxes the common requirement of the velocity information of the agents. An interesting consensus criterion is explicitly derived in terms of the proposed cooperation law provided that the dynamical equation for each agent is linear. As an extension, the proposed cooperation rule is further extended to a general scenario, where the coupling weights characterizing the relationships among the neighboring agents are time‐varying. Accordingly, two distributed cooperative algorithms (node/edge‐based scheme) are explicitly designed. Moreover, we study the case of network with switching communication setting. It shows that edge‐based law is capable with the time‐varying topology, while the node‐based scheme is not. In addition, the proposed coordination strategies are applied to the tracking problem as well. Finally, these obtained consensus results are well supported in the light of the pendulum models. We present the design of a BPEL orchestration engine based on ReSpecT tuple centres, a coordination model extending Linda with the ability of declaratively programming the reactive behaviour of tuple spaces. Architectural and linguistic aspects of our solution are discussed, focussing on how the syntax and semantics of BPEL have been mapped to tuple centres. This is achieved by a translation of BPEL specifications to set of logic tuples, and conceiving the execution cycle of the orchestration engine in terms of ReSpecT reactions.  相似文献

In this paper, the consensus of second‐order multi‐agent dynamical systems with exogenous disturbances is studied. A pinning control strategy is designed for a part of agents of the multi‐agent systems without disturbances, and this pinning control can bring multiple agents' states to reaching an expected consensus track. Under the influence of the disturbances, disturbance observers‐based control (DOBC) is developed for disturbances generated by an exogenous system to estimate the disturbances. Asymptotical consensus of the multi‐agent systems with disturbances under the composite controller can be achieved for fixed and switching topologies. Finally, by applying an example of multi‐agent systems with switching topologies and exogenous disturbances, the consensus of multi‐agent systems is reached under the DOBC with the designed parameters. The fixed‐time synchronization problem for a class of second‐order nonlinear multi‐agent systems with a leader‐follower architecture is investigated in this paper. To achieve the fixed‐time tracking task, the design procedure is divided into two steps. At the first step, a distributed fixed‐time observer is designed for each agent to estimate the leader's state in a fixed time. Then, at the second step, based on the technique of adding a power integrator, a fixed‐time tracking controller for each agent is proposed such that the estimate leader's state can be tracked in a fixed time. Finally, an observer‐based fixed‐time controller is developed such that the leader can be tracked by all the followers in a fixed time, which can be predetermined. Simulations are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.  相似文献

A distributed system consists of a collection of autonomous heterogeneous resources that provide resource sharing and a common platform for running parallel compute‐intensive applications. The different application characteristics combined with the heterogeneity and performance variations of the distributed system make it difficult to find the optimal set of needed resources. When deployed, user applications are usually handled by application domain experts or system administrators who depending on the infrastructure provide a scheduling strategy for selecting the best candidate resource over a set of available resources. However, the provided strategy is usually generic, aimed at handling a wide array of applications and does not take into consideration specific application resource requirements. As such, an intelligent method for selecting the best resources based on expert knowledge is needed. In this paper, we propose a neural network‐based multi‐agent resource selection technique capable of mimicking the services of an expert user. In addition, to cope with the geographical distribution of the underlying system, we employ a multi‐agent coordination mechanism. The proposed neural network‐based scheduling framework combined with the multi‐agent intelligence is a unique approach to efficiently deal with the resource selection problem. Results run on a simulated environment show the efficiency of our proposed method. Several scheduling simulations were conducted to compare the performance of some conventional resource selection methods against the proposed agent‐based neural network technique. The results obtained indicate that the agent‐based approach outperformed the classical algorithms by reducing the amount of time required to search for suitable resources irrespective of the resource size. This paper presents Xspace,a programmable coordination paradigm for Internet applications based on mobile agents.The Xspace system fully exploits the advantages of the XML language and Linda-like coordination.It supports XML documents as tuple fields and multiple matching routines implementing different relations among XML documents,including those given by XML query languages,The Xspace uses Java as the implementation language;it is based on object-oriented XMLized tuple spaces to implement a portable and programmable coordination paradigm for mobile agents.The dsign and implementation procedures of Xspace are described in this paper,Experiment and performance evaluation are also made.Finally,some conclusinos and remarks are given.  相似文献

We consider a distributed consensus problem for continuous‐time multi‐agent systems with set constraints on the final states. To save communication costs, an event‐triggered communication‐based protocol is proposed. By comparing its own instantaneous state with the one previously broadcasted to neighbours, each agent determines the next communication time. Based on this event‐triggered communication, each agent is not required to continuously monitor its neighbours' state and the communication only happens at discrete time instants. We show that, under some mild conditions, the constrained consensus of the multi‐agent system with the proposed protocol can be achieved with an exponential convergence rate. A lower bound of the transmission time intervals is provided that can be adjusted by choosing different values of parameters. Numerical examples illustrate the results. Grammar‐based test generation provides a systematic approach to producing test cases from a given context‐free grammar. Unfortunately, naive grammar‐based test generation is problematic because of the fact that exhaustive random test case production is often explosive, and grammar‐based test generation with explicit annotation controls often causes unbalanced testing coverage. In this paper, we present an automatic grammar‐based test generation approach, which takes a symbolic grammar as input, requires zero control input from users, and produces well‐distributed test cases. Our approach utilizes a novel dynamic stochastic model where each variable is associated with a tuple of probability distributions, which are dynamically adjusted along the derivation. We further present a coverage tree illustrating the distribution of generated test cases and their detailed derivations. More importantly, the coverage tree supports various implicit derivation control mechanisms. We implemented this approach in a Java‐based system, named Gena. Each test case generated by Gena automatically comes with a set of structural features, which can play an important and effective role on automated failure causes localization. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach, the well‐balanced distribution of generated test cases over grammatical structures, and a case study on grammar‐based failure causes localization. Major anti‐virus solutions have introduced a feature known as ‘self‐protection’ so that malware (and even users) cannot modify or disable the core functionality of their products. In this paper, we have investigated 12 anti‐virus products from four vendors (AVG, Avira, McAfee and Symantec) and have discovered that they have certain security weaknesses that can be exploited by malware. We have then designed a novel malware, which makes use of the weaknesses in anti‐virus software and embeds itself to become a part of the vulnerable anti‐virus solution. It subverts the self‐protection features of several anti‐virus software solutions. This malware integrated anti‐virus enjoys several advantages such as longevity (anti‐virus is active while the system is running), improved stealthy behaviour, highest privilege and capability to bypass security measures. Then we propose an effective defence against such malware. We have also implemented the defensive measure and evaluated its effectiveness. Finally, we show how the proposed defence can be applied to the current versions of vulnerable anti‐virus solutions without requiring signficant modifications. Nowadays, process‐aware information systems (PAISs) are widely used for the management of ‘administrative’ processes characterized by clear and well‐defined structures. Besides those scenarios, PAISs can be used also in mobile and pervasive scenarios, where process participants can be only equipped with smart devices, such as personal digital assistants. None of existing PAISs can be entirely deployed on smart devices, making unfeasible its usage in highly mobile scenarios. This paper presents ROME4EU, a mobile PAIS developed for being applied to the coordination of emergency operators, and an extensive validation of the system, both in term of performances and usability/acceptability by the users. Increasing globalization has had a major impact on manufacturing and service industries as well as on coalition operations conducted by the military. What is common to both the commercial and military sectors is the recent surge in interest in cross‐cultural decision making (CCDM) training. Existing CCDM training approaches tend to employ either some form of multi‐agent simulation or some variant of classical game theory. Despite their manifest benefits, these approaches have specific limitations that need to be overcome to create an effective cross‐cultural training system. Multi‐agent simulations typically lack theoretical underpinnings while classical game theory‐based approaches take a limited view of strategic decision making. Specifically, by adopting a Western view of rationality, game‐theoretic approaches fail to accommodate considerations such as fairness, altruism and reciprocity. Empirical research in strategic economic games has shown that humans respond to more than merely monetary incentives. In particular, research has shown that cultural norms play a central role in human decision making behavior, especially in non‐Western cultures. This paper presents an innovative approach to game‐based simulation that combines findings from behavioral game theory with classical game theory and multi‐agent simulation to exploit the strengths of each approach while making learning enjoyable, memorable, and fun. An illustrative game‐based simulation for CCDM training is also presented. The simulation framework is equally applicable to teaching other soft skills as well as skills that are too hazardous or too expensive to teach in the realworld through live exercises. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

Recent years have witnessed a growing interest in event‐triggered strategies for coordination and cooperative control of multi‐agent systems. However, the most previous works and developments focus on the interactive network that has no communication delays. This paper deals with the consensus problem of an agent system with event‐triggered control strategy under communication time delays. We first propose a time delays system model, then present a novel event triggering function that not only avoids continuous communication but also excludes the Zeno behavior. Furthermore, we provide the consensus analysis using an inequality technique instead of the traditional linear matrix inequality method, and we demonstrate that the inter‐event times for each agent are strictly positive, which implies that the Zeno behavior can be excluded. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach and illustrate the correctness of the theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper presents a study of a tracking control problem for a multi‐agent system with an active leader and quantized communication constraints. We first design a discrete‐time distributed estimator‐based tracking control for each follower‐agent and analyze the tracking convergence with the help of the Riccati equation and common Lyapunov function when the communication channel is perfect and the interconnection topology is time‐varying. Then a stochastic quantization strategy is applied to model the information communication in the agent coordination and the corresponding solution to the tracking control problem is also given. This paper focuses on the event‐based distributed robust leaderless synchronization control for multiple Euler‐Lagrange systems with directed communication topology that contains a directed spanning tree. Update frequency of the system is reduced by taking advantages of the event‐triggered approach, which can help extend the service life of the controller. Robust control theory is employed to guarantee the synchronization stability of the networked Euler‐Lagrange systems when unmodeled dynamics occur. The cost on the distributed synchronization protocol design can be saved due to the relaxation of the requirement on relative velocity measurements. Furthermore, our results are more practical because unknown disturbance is taken into consideration. In addition, it can be rigorously analyzed that each agent can exclude the undesired Zeno behavior. Some simulation examples are provided in the end to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed event‐based distributed robust control algorithm.  相似文献
