A quadruple-mode ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter with sharp out-of-band rejection is presented in this work. As a starting part of designing a quadruple-mode filter, a mode graph of the initial triple-mode resonator is studied to choose its proper dimensions. Based on these pre-determined dimensions of this triple-mode resonator, two short-circuited stubs are introduced in this resonator to generate two transmission zeros near the lower and upper cut-off frequencies, leading to a higher rejection skirt outside the desired passband. Moreover, as these two stubs are installed, the fourth resonant mode falls down and works together with the first three resonant modes to form a novel quadruple-mode UWB filter. Finally, a filter prototype is designed and fabricated to experimentally validate the attractive in-band and out-of-band performances as predicted in theory.   相似文献

Mixed mode bandpass filters are described which utilize alternating TE/sub 011//spl deg/ and TE/sub n11//spl deg/ circular waveguide cavity modes. This novel filter configuration exhibits both excellent unloaded Q and spurious mode response characteristics. The use of mixed resonant modes makes possible the design of microwave filters for both in-line side wall connected cylindrical resonators as well as folded planar filter configurations, whereby cross-coupling between selected resonators can be realized.  相似文献

针对微波带通滤波器小型化、高性能的应用需求,提出使用双/三模方形基片集成波导和共面波导混合结构设计带通滤波器.通过改变双模基片集成波导中TE102和TE201的谐振频率和外部耦合的强弱,可实现具有近似椭圆、非对称和无传输零点响应的双模滤波器;两个相同尺寸的共面波导作为谐振器蚀刻在基片集成波导表面,与TE102和TE201共同形成一个通带,设计具有多样性响应的四阶滤波器.在具有非对称响应四阶滤波器的基础上,使主模TE101频率移动到该通带附近,设计更宽带宽的五阶滤波器.并对设计的滤波器进行加工和测试.测试结果与仿真结果吻合,表明了该混合结构设计高性能滤波器方法的可行性.  相似文献

提出了一种新型毫米波双通带基片集成波导(SIW)滤波器,该滤波器由双模基片集成波导和双模带线谐振器构成。其中双模带线谐振器嵌入到双模基片集成波导谐振腔中,不占据额外的电路面积,利用双模带线谐振器的TEM模和双模基片集成波导谐振腔的两个简并模式TE102、TE201,可分别形成两个相互独立的通带,因此该滤波器的设计具有很大的灵活性。所设计的双通带滤波器具有三个传输零点,实现了良好的带外抑制和带间隔离度。该双通带滤波器工作于28.4GHz和32.2GHz,3dB带宽分别为2%和3%。最终的测试结果和仿真结果相吻合,证明了该设计方法的可靠性。  相似文献

The polarization-dependent gain spectra of both tensile and compressive strain multiple-quantum-well (MQW) In/sub x/Ga/sub 1-x/As-InP lasers in a relatively large strain regime are presented. The results show that MQW lasers with tensile strain and an In concentration as low as 43% in the wells lase in a pure transverse magnetic (TM) mode rather than a transverse electric (TE) mode with a gain difference of 60-70 cm/sup -1/ at all the injection currents investigated. The peak gain for the TE mode is shifted toward shorter wavelengths from that of the TM mode, indicating that the emission is principally due to light hole-electron transition. The differential gain of the TM mode is about 1.5 times higher than that of the TE mode operation. Opposite phenomena were observed in the compressive strained MQW lasers.<>  相似文献

提出了一款基于四模谐振器的新型双通带带通滤波器.设计的四模谐振器基于微带线结构,由四个开路枝节和一个短路枝节组成.两次采用奇偶模分析法对该四模谐振器结构进行分析.该四模谐振器的每个模式能够实现独立调节,同时每两个模式形成一个通带.采用源与负载耦合的馈电方式,提高滤波器的带外抑制性.该滤波器具有四个传输零点和四个传输极点.测试结果表明,该双模双通带滤波器工作于2.08GHz和6.07GHz,3dB带宽分别为11.06%和7.74%.设计的滤波器具有紧凑的结构,只有0.28λg×0.11λg大小.  相似文献

An appropriate modification of the shape of a cylindrical filter cavity has been used to separate the degenerate TM/sub 111/ (doublet) modes while at the same time providing a slight increase in the already high unloaded Q of the desired TE/sub 011/ mode. Experimental results of mode frequencies and unloaded Q's are tabulated for a family of shaped cavities. Two low-loss filters utilizing these cavities are discussed. The general correspondence between modes of spherical, cylindrical and rectangular cavities and waveguides is described in order to place the performance of intermediate shapes in perspective.  相似文献

This note describes the measured performance of a high-power S-band "waffleiron" filter. Techniques for designing varying-impedance corrugated waveguide filters in rectangular waveguide have been available for some time [1 ]. If propagation is restricted to the dominant TE/sub 10/ mode, these filters have wide well-matched pass bands and wide high-attenuation stop bands. Unfortunately, the filters may have spurious transmissions in the stop band when power is incident upon them in other modes, such as TE/sub 20/ or TE/sub 30/, if the guide wavelength of these modes at the stop band frequencies is equal to the guide wavelength of the TE/sub 10/ mode at the pass-band frequencies of the filter.  相似文献

This paper presents a new class of pseudoelliptic function filters that are based on compact inline TM/sub 110/-mode cavity configurations. No structural folding is required. The bypass couplings are implemented through the nonresonating TE/sub 10/01/ modes so that arbitrarily positioned transmission zeros can be implemented. Design guidelines to generate a given transmission zero on the desired side of the passband and how to control it are presented. To demonstrate its flexibility, the approach is illustrated at examples of four-pole inline filters providing Chebyshev, elliptic-function-type, and asymmetric characteristics. Performance comparisons with different numerical codes validate the designs. A fourth-order pseudoelliptic filter with four transmission zeros is then designed, constructed, and measured. Excellent agreement between simulated and experimental results verifies the approach.  相似文献

Direct-coupled microwave filters with single and dual stopbands   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This paper presents new ideas for the design and implementation of microwave filters with single and dual stopbands. They can be realized with waveguide, coaxial, dielectric resonators, or in a planar technology. The new methods represent an advance over present methods in that the resonators are direct coupled, thus avoiding the need for transmission line phase lengths between resonator stubs that tend to degrade performance due to their dispersion and are difficult to adjust during tuning. Three bandstop (BS) configurations are presented. The first will accommodate even or odd characteristics and also asymmetric responses, although some negative or diagonal cross-couplings will be needed. The second resembles the cul-de-sac configuration for bandpass filters and needs no diagonal or negative couplings even for asymmetric characteristics. The third is an application of the cul-de-sac synthesis technique to dual-band bandstop (DBBS) filters. All these BS designs are very similar to regular bandpass filters in their design and realization. The design of a DBBS filter is presented and compared with an equivalent bandpass filter to demonstrate its advantages. Finally, the simulated and measured results of a fourth-degree BS filter design in the novel cul-de-sac configuration are presented.  相似文献

New approximate design equations for a class of microwave bandpass filters are presented. The filters are 1) dual forms of half-wave parallel-coupled resonator filters, 2) one form of interdigital filter, and 3) dual forms of direct-coupled stub filters. The advantages derived from using the new equations are 1) exact realization of the specified design bandwidth and 2) improved pass-band voltage standing-wave ratio (VSWR) response in the vicinity of band edge. Experiments data are presented for a trial filter design having 7 resonators, 40-percent bandwidth, and passband VSWR of 1.2.  相似文献

In order to obtain filters capable of handling very high power, the use of radial lines and uniform line discontinuities was investigated. Forty-five-degree tapers and uniform lines were used to design a high-power microwave filter capable of handling 700 kw at 15 pounds pressure in a 0.900 by 0.400 ID waveguide. In addition to the filtering which results from the discontinuities in the TE/sub 10/ mode in the waveguide, high insertion loss elements are effected when the enlarged uniform line section is larger than the TE/sub 10/ mode waveguide wavelength and when the length of the enlarged section is approximately (2n -1)lambda/sub g//4. Extremely large insertion losses are possible by the cascading of these elements. Tuning, in the standard-size waveguide, has no effect on the insertion loss of the higher-mode enlarged waveguide at its resonant frequency. Empirical design formulas are evolved and the design procedure for band-rejection filters is given, using these high insertion loss elements.  相似文献

Part I of this work investigates the phenomenon of mode reordering in circular waveguides containing one or more dielectrics. Specifically, conditions are established, be they ranges of dimensions, dielectric constants, or frequency, under which the sequence, TM/sub 01/, TE/sub 01/, TE/sub 11/, and TE/sub 21/ is obtained instead of the conventional TE/sub 11/, TM/sub 01/, TE/sub 21/, and TE/sub 01/. The desired effect is the reversal of the order of propagation between the normally dominant TE/sub 11/ mode and the circularly symmetric low-loss TE/sub 01/. Bandwidth regimes are drawn and the credibility of the dielectric model is examined and found to be satisfactory for the application of the phenomenon to the design of digital ferrite phase shifters operating in the TE/sub 01/ mode.  相似文献

This paper addresses design and experimental characterization of a two-pole 1.5% bandpass tunable filter operating at 0.9 GHz and 77 K. The filter is based on two YBCO plated KTaO/sub 3/ disc resonators (0.5-mm-thick, 10 mm in diameter) and utilizes the TM/sub 020/ mode. The tunability is achieved through the nonlinear DC electric field dependence of the relative dielectric constant of KTaO/sub 3/. About 5% tuning range is achieved at 500 V driving voltage. Although the insertion losses are relatively high (about -5 dB at 500 V) the shape of the passband is essentially stable. A rather good agreement between simulated and experimental performances is found.  相似文献

Scattering at Circular-to-Rectangular Waveguide Junctions   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A formally exact solution is given for the problem of scattering at a circular-to-rectangular waveguide junction and at a thick diaphragm, with a centered circular aperture, in a rectangular waveguide. The method uses normal TE and TM mode expansions of the waveguide fields and traditional mode matching of the transverse electric and magnetic fields at the junction boundary. Exact closed-form expressions are obtained for the electric field mode-matching coefficients which couple the TE(TM) modes in the rectangular guide to the TE(TM) and TM(TE) modes in the circular guide. Numerical results are presented for the case of TE/sub 10/ mode propagation in the larger rectangular guide with all other modes cutoff. Convergent numerical results for the equivalent shunt susceptances of such junctions are obtained when about 12 modes (eight TE and four TM) are retained in the circular waveguide or in the circular aperture of the diaphragm. The results are graphically compared with formulas and curves due to the quasi-static theory of Bethe and the variational theory given in the Waveguide Handbook [2].  相似文献

This paper proposes a bandpass filter design method for suppressing spurious responses in the stopband by choosing the constitutive resonators with the same fundamental frequency, but staggered higher order resonant frequencies. The design concept is demonstrated by a four-pole parallel-coupled Chebyshev bandpass filter and a compact four-pole cross-coupled elliptic-type bandpass filter. Each filter is composed of four different stepped-impedance resonators (SIRs) for which a general design guideline has been provided in order to have the same fundamental frequency and different spurious frequencies by proper adjusting the impedance and length ratios of the SIR. Being based on knowledge of the coupling coefficients and following the traditional design procedure, the resultant filter structures are simple and easy to synthesize. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated predictions, showing that better than -30-dB rejection levels in the stopband up to 5.4f/sub 0/ and 8.2f/sub 0/ are achieved by the Chebyshev and quasi-elliptic filters, respectively.  相似文献

The important features are the use of TE/spl o deg//sub 011/ mode in the resonant cavities combined with a mode-selective coupling between circular symmetric and rectangular waveguides which make both heat loss and mode conversion low. Design formulas and experimental results on a model filter centered at 56 kMc are included. A millimeter-wave circular TE/sub 01/ mode waveguide generates undesired circularly symmetric modes (TE/sub 02/, TE/sub 03/ modes, etc.) in bends or at discontinuities along a waveguide line. This paper describes the theory and experiment on the TE/sub 02/ and TE/sub 03/ mode filters developed for guided millimeter-wave transmission. The experimental results of two improved TE/sub 03/ mode filters show that the attenuation of the TE/sub 03/ mode is more than 16 dB for one type over the 40-70-GHz range. The TE/sub 01/-mode insertion loss of another type is about 0.2 dB over the 40-80-GHz range. The present mode filters can be applied to various high-speed guided rnillimeter-wave systems currently under development.  相似文献

Full-wave mode-matching-based design of generalized ridge waveguide evanescent mode bandpass filters and their transitions for low-temperature cofired ceramic (LTCC) application is described. A modification factor is introduced in the prototype filter design to effectively overcome the filter bandwidth distortion. Design examples are given to demonstrate the validity. An S-band single-ridge waveguide filter and its transitions are simulated and successfully built in LTCC packages. Good agreement between the theory and experiment is obtained, which demonstrates the feasibility of the three-dimensional ridge waveguide filter embedding in LTCC packages. As compared with an LTCC inductive windows waveguide filter realization, the ridge waveguide filter realization shows significant advantages of smaller size and comparable loss. A novel synthesis technique is developed for two-port networks which possess finite real frequency transmission zeros. The low-pass prototype is synthesized in the form of a network with complex conjugate symmetry where the real frequency transmission zeros are extracted from both ends and realized by simple resonators separated by phase shifters. The remaining transmission zeros are realized by the central part of the filter in the form of a cross-coupled double array. This prototype is particularly suitable for designing waveguides bandpass filters and each real frequency transmission zero is independently tunable. Furthermore, in the case of the most complex transfer function with all possible types of transmission zeros, the realization requires only one type of coupling which is necessary in the important case of TE/sub011/ cylindrical mode cavity resonators. The general synthesis technique is given and the process illustrated by a nontrival example. Additionally, from the results of a computer program based upon the synthesis techniques, the important differences between the possible prototype forms for the same transfer function resulting from extracting the transmission zeros in different orders are cited.  相似文献
