CCITT Ⅻ研究组研究进展情况

CCITT Ⅻ研究组研究电话传输性能与市话网。在1977～1980年研究期共有课题22个,收到文稿220篇。80年3月召开了本研究期的末期会议,有32个国家和科研工业组织的代表共78名参加了会议。 Ⅻ组从电话使用角度,研究一条电话连接,从话机特性到传输通路中各种损害因素所应符合的规定,以及用户的满意程度。因此Ⅻ组被称为传统的电话传输质量的保护者。

具有语音合成的车载蓝牙免提系统设计与实现

针对目前车载蓝牙免提系统不能播报人名和播放短消息内容,致使驾驶员必须操作手机所导致的行车安全问题,设计了具有语音合成功能的车载蓝牙免提方案。该方案采用了XF-S3011语音合成芯片、GOC-MD-102蓝牙模块和LPC2138ARM7主控芯片,为降低系统功耗进行了专门设计,并嵌入了μC/OSII操作系统。结果表明,该系统不仅实现了播报人名和播放短消息内容的功能,而且运行稳定可靠,功耗低。

With the top-level .com name space now as overcrowded as many US telephone area codes, a set of long-standing disputes for control over top-level domains has erupted into open conflict. Several companies are going off on their own, assigning, for a fee, Internet addresses. The author describes how the problem is that addresses are not being coordinated Internetwide. The result is that the Internet could become something less than global. Some addresses will be recognized by only part of the Internet; other users will receive error messages such as “domain not found”. Worse, the potential exists for two companies to use the same domain name, which could result in more confusion     

基于ENUM的电话号码注册管理方案初探

电话号码映射是IETF定义的利用因特网域名系统管理E．164号码资源的方法，对PSTN和Internet进一步融合具有巨大的推动作用，受到国际电信标准组织和多个国家政府的重视。本对基于ENUM的电话号码注册管理方案进行初步研究，提出了ENUM注册遵循的一系列原则，给出了国家码86下的三种ENUM号码注册管理方案，为国内ENUM注册管理问题深入研究提供参考。     

Putting thought into networks

Intelligent networks (INs) are changing the culture and structure of the telecoms industry, and will change the way that customers think about telephone services. Yet they are doing all this largely unnoticed. The changes are gradual, the name 'intelligent network' means different things to different people, and the only glamorous technologies involved are something of a distraction. INs are a natural technological progression. They are an example of how innovation in services can result from the novel application of conventional technology. INs exploit the improvement in performance and reliability of data processing systems, which means that ordinary computer equipment can be used to control telephone calls in real time. Here, the author explains how intelligent networks are changing the way telecoms services work     

Locating objects in wide-area systems

Locating mobile objects in a worldwide system requires a scalable location service. An object can be a telephone or a notebook computer, but also a software or data object, such as a file or an electronic document. Our service strictly separates an object's name from the addresses where it can be contacted. This is done by introducing a location-independent object handle. An object's name is bound to its unique object handle, which, in turn, is mapped to the addresses where the object can be contacted. To locate an object, we need only its object handle. We present a scalable location service based on a worldwide distributed search tree that adapts dynamically to an object's migration pattern to optimize lookups and updates     

ENUM — Phone numbers on the Internet

The problem of a single identifier for multiple communication services can be solved with different approaches. One simple approach is the ENUM system developed by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force), using existing E. 164 telephone numbers, protocols and infrastructure to point to different services available under this identifier. The technical aspects of the underlying protocols and the administrative aspects of the distributed database used — the domain name system — are presented. This includes the related activities in ITU and ETSI and possible national implementations.     

The softswitch advantage

Softswitches and packet switching are transforming telecom network architectures. The author explains how calls between mobile subscribers in the Kingdom of Tonga are being controlled from Los Angeles. Because the media-path controllers of packet networks do not need to incorporate specialised switching hardware, they can, be implemented in software alone. Their apt name, `softswitches', reflects this hardware independence. Softswitches require only a general-purpose processor and packet network connectivity, and, consequently, can take advantage of the latest off-the-shelf processors, making them many times cheaper, and orders of magnitude more powerful than legacy telephone exchanges and MSC equipment     

Building blocks for IP telephony

Convergence between the existing telephone networks and data transfer over the Internet not only demands that new software be written to handle telephony applications which span both networks, but also makes new and innovative applications possible. Rather than writing these applications from the ground up, it would be helpful to have a relatively high-level API on which to prototype new applications. In this article we describe a set of Java packages developed at Cornell University to accomplish this purpose. The software's name is ITX; it is available for download at no charge, and includes sample applications and documentation     

Celebrating 75 years of Madrid-Washington telephone service

The international telephone service between Spain and the United States was officially inaugurated on October 13, 1928. The ceremony was presided over by King Alfonso XIII of Spain and Calvin Coolidge, President of the United States, who took part in the inauguration ceremony from the cities of Madrid and Washington, respectively. Both heads of state took advantage of the occasion to exchange some cordial and warm words of greeting in the name of the Spanish and American people The beginning of this telephone service connection with the United States was considered to be the most important technological milestone achieved in the history of Spanish telecommunications until that date This communications link was possible thanks to a complex telephone circuit covering a distance of just over eight thousand kilometers in each direction. It linked both countries via France, the English Channel, England, Scotland, and the Atlantic Ocean, using all the transmission media known at that time: open-wire lines, underground cables, submarine cables and radio or "wireless" communication.     

IC封装、测试行业的文件编制标准

在查阅、处理IC(集成电路)封装、测试行业相关文件、资料的过程中,发现该行业的文件编制标准很不统一:不同的公司使用不同的标准,同一公司的文件编制也往往使用不同的规则。这给该行业的文件使用者在查找和审核带来很大困扰。编制一份正式受控的技术类型的文件不应只考虑内容,还需附含文件名称、文件编号、文件版号等等.这样才能作为追溯和判别产品是否符合加工要求的依据。随便一段文字、一次谈话、一个邮件、一次电话、一个会议纪要往往不适合作为指导产品加工的文字依据。给出适合该行业文件编制规则的基本要求。其他行业的文件编制也可用作参考。
