Reduction of energy costs in planning of chemical plant . Energy consumption in the chemical industry is especially high, and on inclusion of energy sources used as raw materials the energy consumption figures are even doubled. The most important energy consumption data are presented. The economic incentives for the reduction of energy costs have increased with energy price hikes, and project engineering of new chemical plants offers an extensive field for energy saving measures. An account of the basic methods of economic optimisation of chemical plant equipment, with particular regard to the reduction of energy consumption, is followed by a systematic review of the various sectors of chemical plant design in which energy saving measures can be applied.  相似文献

New design and process engineering concepts for production of hydrogen by electrolysis. Electrolytic production of hydrogen has attracted particular interest in connection with expansion of nuclear generating capacity in France, Belgium, Canada, and Japan as a means of balancing load, and for developing countries with hitherto untapped hydroenergy resources it provides a means of supplying fertilizers with any need for oil imports. However, the present state of the art of water electrolysis leads to excessively high production costs owing to excessively high investment costs and to high an energy consumption, far above the thermodynamically calculated energy requirements: reduction of production costs will require satisfaction of opposing demands for raising the space-time yield of electrolyzers by increased current density while simultaneously lowering the energy consumption by reducing the cell potential. This contribution describes measures intended to save 20 to 30% in energy requirements; the production costs will fall by about 20 to 25%.  相似文献

Optimal use of energy in the chemical industry. Energy costs represent a considerable proportion of manufacturing costs in the chemical industry. Optimization of energy consumption is therefore an important task, but supply and removal of energy also should be considered in the field. Rising oil prices and a predictable lack of steam from power plants required a new concept of the energy supply at the Ludwigshafen site of BASF. Saving energy turned out to be the best solution, considering the oil price, the costs of investment in power plants and the risks of further developments. Some examples explain the procedure and the results of this concept. Though production has increased by 60% since 1970, the consumption of primary energy has been reduced to less than 50%. Investments in power stations have been avoided, but capital had to be spent in energy saving measures and modifications of supply structures. The processes of productions have been improved, air pollution has decreased, the environment has been relieved. Energy saving remains an important task for the future in spite of present low oil prices.  相似文献

Energy consumption optimization belongs to the main agendas in sustainable industries. Here, cost-saving opportunities in the pulp and paper industry as one of the largest industrial energy consumers worldwide are in the focus. Energy-saving measures are proposed employing a large-scale mathematical model of a paper machine based on mass and energy balances supported by real-time experiments in paper machine operation. The presented measures are based on the optimization of paper stock pumping and a drying section operation. The total energy-saving effect of the four proposed measures accounted for a reduction in specific heat and electricity consumption by more than 2 %. The proposed procedures require no or low investment costs with the overall simple rate of return of less than one year.  相似文献

For galvanostatic, potentiostatic and constant cell voltage control, parameters such as conversion degree, energy efficiency, space-time yield, specific energy consumption and their time-dependencies have been calculated for a diffusion-controlled reaction in an electrochemical batch reactor. Comparison of the results showed that potentiostatic control is the most efficient operation mode, but that constant cell voltage control is more useful and provides a similar efficiency. Some results from model calculations were compared with those from laboratory experiments. A numerical optimisation procedure was applied to an electrochemical batch reactor with constant cell voltage control. The resulting optimum batch electrolysis time, the optimum conversion degree, and the minimum costs were calculated as functions of the initial reactant concentration, specific electrode surface area, costs of raw materials and investment costs.  相似文献

影响加氢裂化装置能耗的主要因素是燃料气、电、蒸汽等消耗,本文依据过程系统用能分析的三环节模型进行加氢裂化装置的能耗分析,阐明在能量转换和传输、能量利用、能量回收环节,通过采取提高加热炉热效率、液力透平、HydroCOM气量调节控制系统、夹点技术等措施,有效降低加氢裂化装置的瓦斯、电、蒸汽等主要项目的消耗,达到降低装置能耗的目的。同时,文章指出了在建的云南石化210万吨/年蜡油加氢裂化装置的一些节能措施,为其他新建加氢裂化装置提供参考。  相似文献
