This paper presents a novel current-mode biquadratic filter with three inputs and a single output. The proposed circuit employs five modified current follower transconductance amplifiers (MCFTAs) and only two grounded capacitors. It can realize all five biquadratic filter functions namely: low-pass (LP), band-pass (BP), high-pass (HP), band-stop (BS) and all-pass (AP) at the output terminal by selecting different input current signals, without requiring any parameter-matching conditions or additional circuits. The filter has an orthogonal electronic adjustment of the natural angular frequency ω0 and the quality factor Q, and it has very low element sensitivities of ω0 and Q. Moreover, the proposed filter has the feature of high output impedance and low input impedance, and the use of only grounded capacitors makes it convenient for integrated circuit implementation. The performances of the proposed circuit are illustrated by PSPICE simulations, and the results are in good agreement with theoretical analysis.  相似文献

An universal multi input single output type multifunction biquad is proposed. The proposed configuration employs only one current differencing transconductance amplifier as the active element, two capacitors and three resistors. The circuit realizes all five filter functions (i.e. Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass, Notch and All Pass) without changing the circuit topology. The natural frequency ω0 is independently and electronically tunable. The workability of the proposed multifunction biquad has been verified using SPICE simulation.  相似文献

This paper presents a versatile voltage-mode universal active filter with one input and five output terminals. The proposed circuit is based on using the recently reported active building block, namely differential difference current conveyor transconductance amplifier (DDCCTA). It employs two DDCCTAs as active elements together with two resistors and two capacitors as passive elements, which are all grounded. The circuit simultaneously realizes all the five standard biquadratic filter functions; i.e., lowpass (LP), bandpass (BP), highpass (HP), bandstop (BS) and allpass (AP), without changing circuit topology. The proposed circuit also has the advantage of high-input impedance terminal, and exhibits electronic tunability of its important parameters through the bias current of the DDCCTA as well as low sensitivity performance. PSPICE simulations using 0.5 μm MIETEC CMOS process are used to validate the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper we present a new current‐mode electronically tunable universal filter using only plus‐type current controlled conveyors (CCCII+s) and grounded capacitors. The proposed circuit can simultaneously realize lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filter functions—all at high impedance outputs. The realization of a notch response does not require additional active elements. The circuit enjoys an independent current control of parameters ω0 and ω0 / Q. No element matching conditions are imposed. Both its active and passive sensitivities are low.  相似文献

In this article, a new voltage-mode second-order universal frequency filter and sinusoidal oscillator using only single differential-input buffered and transconductance amplifier (DBTA) is presented. The proposed voltage-mode filter structure using single DBTA and four passive elements can provide all standard filter functions, i.e. low-, band-, high-pass, band-stop, and all-pass without changing the circuit topology and enables independent control of the quality factor Q using single passive element. The circuit requires the minimal number of active and passive elements with no conditions for component matching. By slight modification of the proposed filter structure, the new DBTA-based sinusoidal oscillator is easily obtained. The oscillation condition and the oscillation frequency are independently adjustable by different virtually grounded passive elements. The proposed sinusoidal oscillator employs only grounded capacitors. The passive and active sensitivities of all the proposed circuit configurations are low. PSPICE simulations using a BJT realisation of DBTA and experimental results based on commercially available amplifiers OPA860 and MAX436 are included, which prove the workability of the proposed circuits.  相似文献

A new voltage-mode universal biquad filter is presented which can realize all the five standard filter functions namely lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch, and allpass employing only one CCII as active element. The new circuit is composed of only one CCII, two capacitors, and three resistors, and realizes five generic filter signals without any inverting-type voltage input signals. This is unlike biquad reported by filter structures which employs more active components and needed an inverting-type voltage input signal to realize allpass signal.  相似文献

A new Kerwin-Huelsman-Newcomb (KHN)-equivalent biquad, operating in the current mode (CM), is proposed. The proposed circuit is derived from the adjoint graph of the signal flow graph corresponding to the classical KHN circuit. The derived circuit is a CM universal filter, which offers all the main advantages of CM circuits as well as those of the classical KHN circuit. The proposed circuit employs three current differencing buffered amplifiers (CDBAs) as active elements. In addition to the three basic filter responses, it also allows the realisation of the notch and allpass responses without requiring any element matching conditions  相似文献

A new universal current-mode (CM) biquad filter is presented which can realise all the five standard filter functions namely lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch and allpass employing only unity-gain current followers (CF) as active elements. The workability of the proposed universal biquad, realised with CMOS unity-gain current followers, is established by SPICE simulations. The new circuit provides explicit CM outputs from high output impedance terminals and possesses a number of advantageous features all of which are not available simultaneously in any of the previously reported CF-based universal biquad filters.  相似文献

In this paper, a new ultra low-power universal OTA-C filter which can properly operate in all modes of operation (voltage, current, trans-resistance and trans-conductance) is presented. However, in order to reduce the power consumption effectively, the proposed circuit uses subthreshold transistors which are biased at Ia = 50 nA, Ib = 150 nA. Furthermore, using the bulk-drive technique leads to a reduced power consumption as well as the supply voltage of ±0.3 V. Moreover, the grounded capacitors are used to effectively reduce the parasitic effects. However, the result of sensitivity analysis shows that the proposed circuit has a very low sensitivity to the values of active and passive circuit elements such as: trans-conductance (gm) and capacitance (C) values. Furthermore, the proposed circuit uses the minimum number of active elements to effectively reduce the power consumption as well as the chip area. Finally, the proposed filter is designed and simulated in HSPICE using 0.18µm CMOS technology parameters, while HSPICE simulation results have very close agreement with theoretical results obtained from MATLAB, which justifies the design accuracy and low-power performance of the proposed universal filter.  相似文献

A new transadmittance-mode (TM) universal filter with three inputs and a single output is presented. The circuit employs only two current differencing transconductance amplifiers (CDTAs), two capacitors one of which is permanently grounded and as many resistors. The proposed circuit realizes lowpass (LP), highpass (HP), bandpass (BP), notch and allpass (AP) functions from the same configuration. Both the active and passive sensitivities are no more than unity. The natural frequency ωo and bandwidth ωo/Q are independently and electronically tunable. PSPICE simulation results are included.  相似文献

An electronically tunable universal voltage-mode biquadratic filter with single input and four outputs using one differential difference current conveyor transconductance amplifier (DDCCTA), two resistors and two grounded capacitors is proposed. All the five standard biquadratic filter functions; lowpass (LP), bandpass (BP), highpass (HP), bandstop (BS) and allpass (AP), can be obtained from the circuit configuration. The LP, BP and HP are simultaneously available without component matching condition. By imposing component choice, the BS and AP responses can also be realized from the same circuit configuration. In addition, the proposed circuit provides an electronic control of its natural angular frequency (ω0) and quality factor (Q) by adjusting the bias current of the DDCCTA. The simulation results together with the ideal values are also given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed circuit.  相似文献

A new universal current-mode biquad with two inputs and three outputs or three inputs and two outputs using only two second-generation current conveyors and four grounded/virtual-grounded passive elements is proposed. The proposed circuit has the following advantages: simultaneous realization of five generic current-mode filter signals from the same configuration; no requirements of any cancellation constraints; employment of two grounded capacitors ideal for integrated circuit implementation; employment of two grounded/virtually grounded resistors suitable for voltage control; orthogonal adjustment of ω0/Q and ω0 through two separate grounded/virtually-grounded resistors; high output impedance good for cascadability for the current-mode circuits; and low active and passive sensitivities.  相似文献

In this paper an active element Extra-X current controlled conveyor (EX-CCCII) is used to reduce the complexity of some existing circuits. Two second-order current-mode biquadratic filter circuits are proposed, each using a single active element and two grounded capacitors. The first circuit is three input single output (TISO) and the second one is single input three outputs (SITO) biquadratic filter. The First circuit can realize all the standard filter transfer functions, while the second circuit can realize LP, BP and HP responses. The study of non-idealities and parasitics of the active element and their effects on transfer functions is carried out. The new circuits are found to be simpler than the earlier ones in terms of number of transistors. The functionality of the proposed biquadratic filters is verified through detailed PSPICE simulations using 0.25 µm TSMC CMOS technology parameters.  相似文献

In this study, a new current-mode current-controlled universal filter with single input and three outputs is presented. The proposed circuit uses single-output current controlled conveyors (CCCIIs) and can simultaneously realize lowpass, bandpass and highpass filter functions all at high impedance outputs. Realization of notch and allpass responses does not require additional active elements. The circuit enjoys independent current-control of the parameters ω0 and ω0/Q without disturbing the gains of the lowpass, bandpass and highpass filters. Both its active and passive sensitivities are low.  相似文献

A new high input impedance voltage-mode universal biquadratic filter with one input terminal and five output terminals is presented. The proposed circuit uses three differential voltage current conveyors (DVCCs), four resistors, and two grounded capacitors. The proposed circuit can realize all the standard filter functions—lowpass, bandpass, highpass, notch, and allpass—simultaneously, without changing the passive elements. The proposed circuit enjoys the features of high input impedance, orthogonal control of resonance angular frequency and quality factor, use of only grounded capacitors, and low active and passive sensitivities.  相似文献

A novel configuration for realizing voltage/current-mode (VM/CM) universal filter using a single four terminal floating nullor (FTFN), a single current feedback amplifier (CFA), two capacitors and three resistors is presented. The VM configuration has three inputs and a single output and implements all the five generic filtering functions through the selection of inputs. This topology enjoys cascadability and does not require any additional active element for facilitating the filter realizations. The same circuit in current-mode has a single input and four outputs and realizes LP, HP and two BP responses simultaneously from which AP and Notch can also be realized. This topology uses grounded resistors and capacitors which are ideal for monolithic integration. Both the topologies enjoy orthogonal control of natural frequency (ω0) and quality factor (Q) by the grounded resistors. The topologies enjoy low active and passive sensitivity figures. Experimental and PSPICE simulation results are also included.  相似文献

The realisation criteria of continuous-time current-mode (CM) active filters for low frequency operation are investigated. New lossless and lossy integrators for low frequency operation using dual-output current conveyors (DO-CCII) are proposed. Basing on these building blocks, a CM universal filter with low natural frequencies suitable for integrated circuit implementation is presented. Using the proposed filter, natural frequencies as low as a few ten hertz can be achieved on an integrated circuit chip without using any external passive components. The proposed circuit simultaneously produces three basic filter responses at its high impedance outputs and it has good passive and active sensitivity performance.  相似文献

In this paper, a new active device, current differencing cascaded transconductance amplifier (CDCTA), has been presented. The proposed CDCTA simplifies the design of the current-mode filter circuit considerably, especially the design of high-order filter. Moreover, a current-mode nth-order filter based on the CDCTA is proposed in the paper. The proposed circuit, which adopts only an active component and n grounded capacitors, contains minimal active component and passive one. It enjoys the simple configuration and is suitable for integrated circuit (IC) fabrication. PSpice simulations for current-mode third-order filter based on this structure have also been conducted, and the results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis. The influences of the CDCTA non-idealities are also discussed.  相似文献

A novel current-mode (CM) single-input and three-output (SITO) universal filter using two second generation current controlled conveyors (CCCIIs), one current follower (CF) and two capacitors is presented. The circuit is fully programmable and implements all the five generic filtering functions. The lowpass (LP), bandpass (BP), and highpass (HP) functions can be realized simultaneously while Notch (BS) and allpass (AP) responses can be implemented simply by connecting the appropriate node currents without requiring additional elements. The availability of currents at high impedances, facilitate cascadibility feature. The filter performance factors ω0 and ω0/Q are electronically tunable through separate bias currents of the CCCIIs. SPICE simulation results are included to confirm the workability of the proposed circuit.  相似文献
