For thin films of tin dioxide, indium oxide and indium tin oxide, the substrate nature plays a determining role on their structural and morphological characteristics, which modified noticeably their optical property. On these substrates, the electropolymerization characteristics of polypyrrole exhibited the profound modifications related to the active sites for nuclei formation and their growth. Background In engineering education, a considerable amount of research effort has been dedicated to study the impacts of student characteristics on their college enrollment, major selection, and college retention. However, there is no standardized categorical classification system of engineering student characteristics in the current literature. Different researchers tend to focus on specific characteristics within the scope of their research interests. This study provides a comprehensive review and analysis of the existing research on the measurement of the characteristics of engineering students. Purpose The study addressed the three questions: (1) what engineering student characteristics have been measured; (2) how do engineering student characteristics impact their educational outcomes; and (3) what measurement and analysis methods have been applied in current studies? A standardized classification system for engineering student characteristics involving external, cognitive, affective, and demographic categories is also proposed. Scope /Method The study focused on engineering education. Representative research regarding common characteristics of students from majors of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics were also included. The review covers major academic journals, research books, conference proceedings, and government reports in the areas of science and engineering education for the past two decades. Conclusions The review analysis indicated that students with certain characteristics are more likely to choose engineering as a profession and that those characteristics are either correlated or causally related with one another. However, many research conclusions based on basic statistical analyses fail to model the interaction effects. More advanced measurement techniques are needed that can model the characteristics interactively and concurrently in a complete framework.  相似文献

Yttria-stabilized zirconia ultrafine powders were prepared by the hydrolysis of their hydroxide at 200° C. The powders obtained were investigated for their crystal structure and degree of fineness. The surface characteristics of the prepared powders were determined by nitrogen gas adsorption. In spite of their salient properties, major hurdles still exist for their use in biological applications, due to their main characteristics, including their hydrophobic surfaces and tendency to aggregate, as well as their unknown interactions in the cellular interphase. In this Research News, these characteristics of carbon nanotubes, a model nanomaterial, are investigated. Thus, the cytotoxicity of carbon nanotubes, the influence of functionalization, as well as their interactions with different mammalian cell lines are studied. 麦弗逊悬架中,为了提高乘坐舒适性,减震器和车体之间采用橡胶 钢零件作为弹性连接.为了更好地研究此橡胶连接件对汽车悬架垂向动态特性的影响,对其垂向动态特性进行实验研究.根据其在汽车中的实际使用情况,在MTS 810万能材料试验机上对其动态特性进行了测试.汽车在行驶过程中的频率范围多在1~12 Hz之间,因此将动态测试实验的频率范围设置在相同的频率范围内.在实验的基础上,基于双折线恢复力的迟滞回线模型,建立了橡胶连接件的动态数学模型,将其迟滞回线分解为一次弹性恢复力、三次弹性恢复力、线性阻尼力和双折线恢复力,并对建立的恢复力模型中的参数分批进行识别,提高了弱参数项的识别精度.通过与实验曲线对比,仿真得到的模型曲线与实际测试曲线吻合得较好,尤其对于阻尼力相对较小的系统,满足实际工程计算的要求,为研究橡胶对悬架动力学的影响奠定了良好的基础.  相似文献

The basic concepts and characteristics of Raman spectra from single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs, both isolated and bundled) are presented. The physical properties of the SWNTs are introduced, followed by the conceptual framework and characteristics of their Raman spectra. Each Raman feature, namely the radial breathing mode, the tangential G band, combination modes and disorder-induced bands are discussed, addressing their physical origin, as well as their capability for characterizing SWNT properties.  相似文献
