Isothermal sections of the Ni-Cr-Al-W system have been investigated at 75 at % Ni and temperatures of 1523 and 1273 K, by means of phase compositional analysis, X-ray diffraction and microscopical examination. The alloys studied lay in the range 2.5 to 10 at % Cr, 12.5 to 20 at% Al, 2.5 to 6.25 at % W, The phases formed were, and the bcc solid solution based on tungsten (designated 2). The maximum extent of the region was found to be 3 at % each of chromium and tungsten. Preferential partitioning of tungsten to occurred. Study of an Ni-10Cr-12.5Al-2.5W alloy aged at 1273 and 1073 K, after quenching from 1573 K, showed that changes in and compositions and lattice parameters occur as a function of ageing time.  相似文献

The isothermal transformation behaviour of the metallic glass Fe40Ni40P14B6 between 320 and 400° C is described. Crystallization occurs by a eutectic mechanism to form Fe-Ni austenite and a body-centred tetragonal phase which is isomorphous with Fe3P and Ni3P. The eutectic crystals have a barrel shape such that the c-axis of the tetragonal phase is parallel to the barrel axis. The orientation relationship between the two phases is 1 1 0T 1 1 0 and 0 0 1T 1 1 2. The austenite phase contains (1 1 1) twins.  相似文献

The emissivities of metals are strongly affected by the growth of oxide films. For small film thicknesses, perturbations are limited to the visible range. As thicknesses increase, they spread to the infrared range. Various samples of optically polished metals (Fe, Ni, Cr) and stainless steels (ELI.T 1803 MoT and AISI 304 or 316) have been oxidized at temperatures ranging from 400 to 800C. Their spectral polarized directional emissivities, and , have been measured with two experimental techniques. The spectral range studied extends from 0.4 to 14 m; the measurement directions vary between 0 and 80 from the normal to the sample. After measurement, each sample was analyzed by glowdischarge optical spectroscopy (GDOS). From the results of the analysis and from the survey of bibliographical data, we characterized the structure of the oxide films, i.e., their approximate thicknesses and compositions. If the complex optical indices of the metals and oxides are known, the stratified media theory enables the computation of the emissivities and . Computed and measured values have been compared. It appears that the theory accounts well for experimental data when the thicknesses of the oxides are small as in stainless steels. But for thicker oxide films, discrepancies are ascribed to several reasons.  相似文献

The 2 phase transformation in fractured high temperature stress rupture Ti-48Al-2Nb(at.%) alloy has been studied by analytical electron microscopy. 2 and phases were found at grain boundaries. 2 layers that suspended in layers and interfacial ledge higher than 2d (111) at /2 interfaces were observed in the lamellar grains. These facts indicated that 2 phase transformation and dynamic recrystallization have occurred during high temperature stress rupture deformation. It can be concluded that deformation induced 2 phase transformation and dynamic recrystallization resulted in the presence of particles at grain boundaries. A structural and compositional transition area between deformation-induced 2(or ) and its adjacently original (or 2) phases was found by HREM and EDS and is suggested as a way to transform between and 2 phase during high temperature stress rupture deformation. The transition area was formed by slide of partial dislocations on close-packed planes and diffusion of atoms.  相似文献

The agglomeration process that occurs during annealing of thin Fe films (<200 nm) on Si substrates has been studied. Agglomeration occurred on uncapped films prior to silicide formation. Capping layers of SiO2, or more appropriately Si-SiO2, have been used to minimize agglomeration effects. Continuous thin films of -FeSi2 have been grown on 11 1 and 100 oriented substrates. Preferred growth of (202) and (220) suicide planes on 111 Si has been obtained, while preferential growth was not observed on 100 Si.  相似文献

The paramagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition and the martensitic transformation of Fe-Mn (Mn 15–32 wt%) alloys have been investigated by resistivity, dilatometry and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show that paramagnetic-antiferromagnetic transition increases the resistivity and the volume of alloys, whereas the martensitic transformation reduces the resistivity and volume of alloys. The A f that was determined by the dilatometric method is not the temperature that martensites in the Fe-Mn alloys have reverse transformed to austenites completely. Mn additions reduce M s, increase T N and the lattice parameter of austenite in the Fe-Mn alloys. Both the antiferromagnetic transition and the martensitic transformation lead to an increase in the lattice parameter of austenite. The lattice parameters both above T N and below T N decrease linearly with temperature. The lattice parameter below M s increases first and then decreases. Moreover, the (110) and (002) atomic planes in the Fe-15Mn-0.15C alloy are separated into two peaks: 2 for (002) is 44.16°, 2 for (110) is 44.47°.  相似文献

This study reexamined the mechanism of 1 formation in conventional dental amalgams in the light of a previously unrecognized intergranular structure, the SnHg-2 phase. Two amalgams, A (45. 5% Hg) and B (65. 0% Hg), were made from a Zn-free alloy of the following composition (wt%): Ag-70, Sn-26, Cu-4. After storage at 37°C for 1 day, both amalgams were heat treated at 70°C for up to 16 days. The structural changes in the two amalgams as a function of their heat treatment were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry and X-ray diffraction techniques. On the basis of the experimental data, we have proposed a new mechanism on 1 formation. This mechanism involves a series of interrelated reactions. The primary one is a reaction between AgSn- and 2 that leads to the nucleation of 1 at boundaries. Simultaneous operation of several secondary and tertiary reactions result in (1) further growth of 1 and its continuing change in composition, (2) loss of Sn from the 1 matrix, (3) conversion of CuHg into , and (4) a possible transformation of 2 into Sn-rich 1 or 1.  相似文献

The suppression of superconductivity of the first kind in a hollow cylindrical superconductor by a strong electric current is studied on the basis of the linear time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau equations. Due to the presence of an electric field, mixed state consisting of superconducting fluctuations is established at the inner surface of the sample close to some critical current. When the inner radiusr 1 of the cylinder is of the order of magnitude of the superconducting coherence length , the magnetic response to a longitudinal magnetic field H a shows an oscillatory dependence of the magnetic flux onr 1/ and H a due to the quantum character of the macroscopic wave function. In the limiting situationsr 1 andr 1=0 we find again the paramagnetic and diamagnetic effect of the two- and one-dimensional mixed states respectively.  相似文献

The magnetic susceptibility of high-resistivity CdTeIn and CdTeCl crystals was measured between 4.2 and 300 K. The susceptibility was found to vary anomalously with temperature. Below 50 K, all the samples were paramagnetic. The observed anomalies are interpreted in terms of donor–acceptor pairs formed by native defects and dopant or uncontrolled impurity atoms. The effect of doping on the 300-K is related to the Van Vleck paramagnetic contribution resulting from the local electric fields of XiV Cdand IniV Cddefect complexes. In CdTeCl, this contribution is insignificant.  相似文献

The singularity in the vapor-liquid interfacial tension, (T), of helium at the transition to superfluidity is analyzed theoretically. The universal amplitude ratio R + =K+( 0 + )d–1/k B T , where K+ and K are the amplitudes of the |T–T|µ singularity in , with =1.34 3 , is known from recent work to first order in =4–d for the general n-vector model in d dimensions. Extrapolation to d=3 for n=2 indicates R + =0.05–0.08, which is shown to be consistent with the experimental data. Further analysis of the experiments establishes that the universal ratio Q=K+/K exceeds 0.35, and is consistent with the recent prediction Q0.9; this demonstrates the inadequacies of earlier theoretical treatments. The existence in the observed surface tension of an anomalous, negative contribution of unknown origin at a few millikelvin beneath T is stressed.  相似文献

From the second-sound velocityU 2 near the superfluid transition point, the superfluid densities in3He-4He mixtures, s (X) and s (), were deduced along the paths of constant3He concentrationX and of constant chemical potential difference of3He and4He. The following critical exponents of s are determined: (a) =XX for s (X) in the(X, T) plane,(b) X for s (X) in the(, T) plane, and(c) for s () in the(, T) plane. It is found that and X change by about 4–6% relative to with increasing3He concentration up toX=0.4 and by 8–10% up toX=0.53. It seems that, belowX=0.53, universality hold for . Values of have been found to be in good agreement with the critical exponent of s in pure4He under constant pressure. The values of and X forX0.53 are also found to be consistent with the scaling relations in the (,T) plane of3He-4He mixture.Work performed in part while at the Electrotechnical Laboratory.  相似文献

A new rationale is presented for various decomposition products obtained from the metastable -phase found in Ti-6A1-4V alloy produced by hot isostatic pressing comminuted melt-spun fibres and cooled to room temperature by furnace cooling. This alloy has an -matrix with about 8 vol% retained -phase, which is supersaturated with -stabilizers to such an extent that the martensitic transformation has been suppressed. The metastable -phase decomposes by different modes during continuous cooling, depending on the actual composition of individual -grains. Less enrichment of vanadium and iron favours the direct formation of the equilibrium -phase from the -matrix, while greater enrichment of vanadium and iron leads to a spinodal decomposition of the metastable -phase, resulting in a + two-phase structure. During further continuous cooling, the -phase which is lean in -stabilizers will transform into isothermal -phase. In addition, an unknown phase has also been observed in the -phase, which is typified by the appearance of 1/2{112} reflections in the SAD patterns.  相似文献

To reveal the relative stability of and -phases in beta alumina, effects of Na20 content and calcination and annealing history on the relative content of and -phases have been studied for compositions ranging from Na2O-5Al2O3 to Na2O-9.5Al2O3. The relative stability appears to be dependent on the calcination or annealing history, except holding time such as annealing or re-annealing time, but independent of the Na2O content and the holding time. From these results it can be demonstrated that the relative stability of and -phases is sensitive to the heat treatment path, except the holding time. The two stage model on the /. polytypic transition in silicon carbide has been quoted to explain the heat treatment pathdependent characteristics.  相似文献

The interaction between a dislocation and the impurity in KCl: Mg2+ (0.035 mol% in the melt) was investigated at 77–178 K with respect to the two models: one is the Fleischer's model and the other the Fleischer's model taking account of the Friedel relation. The latter is termed the F-F. The dependence of strain-rate sensitivity due to the impurities on temperature for the specimen was appropriate to the Fleischer's model than the F-F. Furthermore, the activation enthalpy, H, for the Fleischer's model appeared to be nearly proportional to the temperature in comparison with the F-F. The Friedel relation between effective stress and average length of the dislocation segments is exact for most weak obstacles to dislocation motion. However, above-mentioned results mean that the Friedel relation is not suitable for the interaction between a dislocation and the impurity in the specimen. Then, the value of H(T c) at the Fleischer's model was found to be 0.61 eV. H(T c) corresponds to the activation enthalpy for overcoming of the strain field around the impurity by a dislocation at 0 K. In addition, the Gibbs free energy, G 0, concerning the dislocation motion was determined to be between 0.42 and 0.48 eV on the basis of the following equation ln / = G 0/(kTp0)1 – (T/T c)1/2 –1(T/T c)1/2 + ln 0/where k is the Boltzmann's constant, T the temperature, T c the critical temperature at which the effective stress due to the impurities is zero, p0 the effective shear stress without thermal activation, and 0 the frequency factor.  相似文献

A comprehensive analytical theory of symmetric DC SQUIDs is presented taking into account the effects of thermal fluctuations. The SQUID has a reduced inductance < 1/ where = 2LIc/0, L is the loop inductance, 0 is the flux quantum, and Ic is the critical current of the identical Josephson junctions which are assumed to be overdamped. The analysis, based on the two dimensional Fokker–Planck equation, has been successfully performed in first order approximation with considered a small parameter. All important SQUID characteristics (circulating current, current-voltage curves, transfer function, and energy sensitivity) are obtained. In the limit 1( = 2kBT/Ic0 is the noise parameter, kB is the Boltzmann constant, and T is the absolute temperature) the theory reproduces the results of numerical simulations performed for the case of small thermal fluctuations. It was found that for < 1 the SQUID energy sensitivity is optimum when is higher than 1/, i.e., outside the range for which the present analysis is valid. However, for 1 the energy sensitivity has a minimum at L = LF , where LF = ( 0 /2) 2/kB , and therefore, in this case, the optimal reduced DC SQUID inductance is opt = 1/, i.e., within the range for which the present analysis is valid. In contrast to the case of an RF SQUID, for a DC SQUID the transfer function decreases not only with increasing L/LF but also with increasing (as 1/). As a consequence, the energy sensitivity of a DC SQUID with < 1/ degrades more rapidly (as 4 ) with the increase of than that of an RF SQUID does (as 2 ).  相似文献

With the cohesive process zone representation of the micro-mechanistic processes that are associated with fracture as a basis, the author is involved in a wide-ranging research programme, the objective being to extend the fracture mechanics methodology for sharp cracks to blunt flaws, so as to take credit for the blunt flaw geometry. In earlier work, a Mode I fracture initiation relation has been derived, subject to the restriction that the process zone size s is small compared with the flaw depth (length) and any characteristic dimension other than the flaw root radius . The relation gives the critical elastic flaw-tip peak stress pcr, and has been derived using a two-extremes procedure, whereby the separate, and indeed exact, solutions for small and large s/ values are blended together to give an all-embracing relation that is valid for all s/ values. pcr is expressed in terms of the process zone material parameters and geometrical parameters but, for a wide range of flaw geometry parameters, pcr essentially depends on only one geometrical parameter . This paper provides underpinning for the general thrust of the two-extremes procedure by appealing to exact results for the complete spectrum of s/ values from analyses of appropriate Mode III models. Results obtained by applying the two-extremes procedure are shown to be in very good agreement with the exact results.  相似文献

Cylindrical stand-alone tubes of plasma-sprayed alumina were tested in uniaxial compression at room temperature, using strain gages to monitor axial strains. The effect of lamella size on the mechanical response was investigated by employing different starting powders to fabricate samples. The average powder sizes investigated included 9 m, 19 m and 32 m alumina; the resulting effective lamella diameters were 10 m, 28 m, and 55 m, respectively. Similar stress-strain hysteresis was observed on unloading in all tubes, independent of lamella size. A strong correlation between the failure stress and the cumulative strain at failure was also observed for tubes fabricated from the three powders. For samples with approximately constant densities, tubes plasma sprayed with the 9 m powder exhibited greater moduli than tubes sprayed from either 19 or 32 m powders. This difference was attributed to the greater percentage of unmelted -Al2O3 in the coating.  相似文献
