Abstract Flocculation and filtration of micrometer-sized particles in a high-gradient magnetic field (HGMF) were investigated. Experiments were conducted using a cryogenic magnet of 6 Tesla maximum strength. Hematite particles were used for flocculation and filtration experiments. A new approach of using magnetic fields to enhance separation of weakly magnetic particles was also investigated. This approach is based on magnetic seeding which involves flocculation of existing nonmagnetic particles with injected paramagnetic particles. A particle-flocculation model was developed based on trajectory analysis. External forces due to gravity and magnetism, and interparticle forces such as electrostatic, hydrodynamic, magnetic dipole, and van der Waals forces, were taken into consideration in these models. 相似文献

将表面改性后的磁粉,磁性颗粒分别作为磁种和磁滤材料,以出水含油量、除油率为试验指标,采用磁种-磁滤技术处理江苏油田废水.试验结果表明,经改性后的Fe3O4磁种粒度小、比表面积大,与油滴的吸附亲和力增强,且包覆在Fe3O4表面的偶联剂能阻止Fe3O4微粒聚结,减缓沉降速度,从而提高除油效果.当进水含油量为140.3mg/L,磁种投加量300mg/L、搅拌强度250r/min,搅拌时间20min、磁滤速度25m/h、磁感应强度0.0839T时,出水含油量降为19.8mg/L,除油率迭85.9%. 相似文献

采用磁种-磁滤法对洗车废水进行处理,以便能达到废水回用的目的。考察了磁种投加量、混凝剂用量、磁场强度和磁滤速度对出水浊度的影响,并在最佳条件下对实际废水进行了处理。结果表明,在磁种投加量为80mg/L,聚合氯化铝用量为45mg/L,磁场强度为2000Gs,磁滤速度为80m/h的条件下,出水达到了生活杂用水水质标准的要求(CJ25.1-89)。 相似文献

Using the discrete element method, we simulate numerically the cake formation and growth in magnetic field enhanced cake filtration to give further insight on the mechanisms of the structuring of the filter cake due to the interaction of magnetic, hydrodynamic, and mass forces. The motion of the discrete particles is obtained by applying the three‐dimensional Newton's equations to individual particles, allowing for both external forces (gravity, applied magnetic field) and particle–particle interactions calculated using the modified DLVO‐theory. Continuous liquid phase flow is assumed as one‐dimensional. The simulation results compare favorably with reported experimental data, 1 and can be used to delineate the regimes associated with different liquid flow and magnetic field effects that are observed experimentally. © 2012 American Institute of Chemical Engineers AIChE J, 2012 相似文献

ABSTRACT Magnetic-seeding filtration consists of two steps: heterogeneous particle flocculation of magnetic and nonmagnetic particles in a stirred tank and high-gradient magnetic filtration (HGMF). The effects of various parameters affecting magnetic-seeding filtration are theoretically and experimentally investigated. A trajectory model that includes hydrodynamic resistance, van der Waals, and electrostatic forces is developed to calculate the flocculation frequency in a turbulent-shear regime. Fractal dimension is introduced to simulate the open structure of aggregates. A magnetic-filtration model that consists of trajectory analysis, a particle build-up model, a breakthrough model, and a bivariate population-balance model is developed to predict the breakthrough curve of magnetic-seeding filtration. A good agreement between modeling results and experimental data is obtained. The results show that the model developed in this study can be used to predict the performance of magnetic-seeding filtration without using empirical coefficients or fitting parameters. 相似文献

Electrospun electret filter material is widely studied because of its excellent removal effect on particulate matter from air streams. Here, a kind of high efficiency and low pressure drop nanofiber (NF) membrane with both electret effect and magnetic effect is developed, and compounded it with glass fiber mesh and polyester (polyethylene terephthalate) mesh to prepare a sandwich structure of NF anti‐haze window screen. Under the synergistic effect of magnetic particles, when the density is 2.06 g m?2, the filtration efficiency of NF anti‐haze window screen can reach 99.95% for the fine particles below 0.3 µm, while the filtration pressure drop is only 58.5 Pa, with good light transmittance and excellent breaking strength (6.32 MPa). Therefore, polyvinylidene fluoride/Fe3O4 composite NF membrane has a potential application prospect in the field of air filtration. 相似文献
