The possibility of replacing quartz sand for melting enamel frit by natural diatomite rock is investigated. It is established
that the use of local diatomite as the silica material in melting enamel frits is a promising trend in enameling technology.
The properties of frits based on diatomite materials are similar to the properties of the reference low-melting frit F-1;
they have have slightly lower softening and melting temperatures, and their technological characteristics are within the limits
specified by GOST 24495-80 for undercoat enamel on steel.

Using zinc phosphate, micaceous iron oxide and their combination in the composition of the undercoat, a series of novel multilayer paint systems based on different silicone-urethane binders with the same R/Si and Ph/R ratio have been formulated. The developed paint systems showed excellent mechanical, adhesion and chemical properties. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) analysis of the surface of the paint systems shows no fractures or holes. The electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) evaluation of the developed paint systems confirms their excellent protective and anticorrosion properties, especially for Silicone-Urethane-Urea (SPUU) based paint systems with a combination of pigments in the composition of the undercoat. SPUU-based paint systems show low water uptake. The new multilayer silicone-urethane-based paint systems can be used as a anticorrosion primer. 相似文献

Three two-layer heat-resistant and anticorrosion paints have been formulated from urethane siloxane binder and traditional anticorrosion pigments such as micaceous iron oxide (MIO), zinc phosphate (ZP), and aluminum oxide. These pigments were used as the dominant components of different undercoats or topcoats. Heat-resistant pigments such as silicon nitride and glass-spheres were used in the composition of the topcoats. Thermogravimetric analysis of paints shows that the paint with ZP as dominant component of the undercoat have the highest heat-resistance and stability in inert gas and oxygen. The paint with a combination of MIO and ZP has the best hardness as well as the best protective and anticorrosion properties based on the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. A maximum synergic effect of the properties of pigments seems to appear in this paint. Surface morphology of paints was studied by means of scanning electron microscopy. Heated at different temperatures and for several hours, paint containing MIO as the dominant component in the undercoat exhibits the best mechanical and adhesion properties. 相似文献

A new technique for studying the crystalline material in fired enamel is described. Using this technique, it was found that the main difference in the crystalline nature of enamel coatings is the presence of FeO crystals at the interface of good bond specimens and the absence of FeO at the interface of poor bond specimens. Though blending polymers to obtain high performance materials is an old practice, the new trend in such an approach is the
emergence of interpenetrating polymer networks (IPNs) as binders for protective coatings with improved properties. In this
study, one ambient curing IPN-type polymer alloy developed out of epoxy and acrylic polyurethane systems as a high performing
binder was formulated into paints and evaluated in comparison with the currently used conventional epoxy polyamide and polyurethane
systems. A three-coat system consisting of a zinc phosphate primer, a micaceous iron oxide (MIO) undercoat, and a topcoat
was formulated out of the IPN along with a similar system of epoxy primer, epoxy undercoat, and a PU topcoat. A two-coat system
of the same primer with an IPN clear topcoat and a similar system with epoxy has also been studied. All the systems were studied
under accelerated laboratory tests and field tests at a corrosive location. The results are reported and conclusions are drawn
in this article.
