At SIA Corporation, in Italy, a particleboard production plant has started operation, containing a continously working ContiRoll particleboard press of Messrs. Siempelkamp. This article describes the most important components, depicts them and records their technical data and capacity. Important economical and technical reasons advocate a return to continuous pressing processes in particleboard production. Continuous pressing achieves boards with improved density profiles. This, in turn, leads to remarkable savings in material, energy, processing and storage costs, greater capacifies and other advantages, which are elaborated in comparison to conventional single-daylight presses. A preview is given on possibilities of applying finish-foil in a socalled one-step-process. A subsequent paper will discuss details concerning machinery and processing in modern continuous pressing plants.  相似文献

Tow types of coatings, melamin- und finishfilms, are used for high quality products in the laminate industry. Melamin coatings were used all along and especially for large size boards. Large size coating with finishfilms is recently discussed as new concept for the continous production of long stripes of furniture elements. High-pressure laminates from resin-impregnated papers have been manufactured by a discontinuous pressing procedure in single and multiple day-light presses for more than 50 years now. For about 20 years a continuous procedure is known. On account of the low pressure this procedure was restricted to polyester resins curing under low pressure. Not until 1975, when double band press lines came into use, a continuous production with high cutting yields of endless decorative, melamine based high-pressure laminates was possible. At the time being 22 double band press lines are working all over the world. The annual capacity of a double band press with a width of 1.30 m is approx. 2.5 mio m2 for high-pressure laminates, 0.6 mm thick. This capacity can still be increased by some technical modifications.  相似文献

The technology of manufacturing high pressure laminates (HPL) got a new impact, when press manufacturers recently picked up the well known priciple of continuously working high-pressure presses. So-called double band presses appeared on the market. The systems practisized mainly differ in the mode of pressure application and heat transmission. Those presses, suitable for the manufacture of particleboard and laminates, have been developed nearly parallel. This paper describes the now topical procedure from the technical point of view. One plant of this type has just taken up the production in Italy. A former paper will compare all procedures, which are nowadays practisized.  相似文献
