以有线电视网络环境下EPG信息的有效发布和获取为目标,本文将提供EPG信息服务的系统设备抽象为EPG业务节点,然后根据这些节点的逻辑层级关系提出了一种基于树形结构的EPG信息发布系统,实现了EPG信息的按区域、分层级发布和个性化定制。工程实践表明,该系统有效地解决了互动电视业务EPG信息的统筹发布,提高了Web业务系统的运营和维护能力。

Mixed reality in education, entertainment, and training

Transferring research from the laboratory to mainstream applications requires the convergence of people, knowledge, and conventions from divergent disciplines. Solutions involve more than combining functional requirements and creative novelty. To transform technical capabilities of emerging mixed reality (MR) technology into the mainstream involves the integration and evolution of unproven systems. For example, real-world applications require complex scenarios (a content issue) involving an efficient iterative pipeline (a production issue) and driving the design of a story engine (a technical issue) that provides an adaptive experience with an after-action review process (a business issue). This article describes how a multi-disciplinary research team transformed core MR technology and methods into diverse urban terrain applications. These applications are used for military training and situational awareness, as well as for community learning to significantly increase the entertainment, educational, and satisfaction levels of existing experiences in public venues.     

Calling Out Fake News on Social Media: A Comparison of Literature in Librarianship and Journalism

This study compared 475 scholarly journal articles in librarianship and journalism on social media published between 2006 and early 2017. Though articles from these two information professions are mostly positive on social media, various journalism articles pointed out the information credibility issue on social media while no librarianship article did that. With fake news being a major issue in the information business since the 2016?US election, librarians should do more in calling out fake news on social media in their publications as well as in information literacy classrooms.     

Management Information Models Integration: From Existing Approaches to New Unifying Guidelines

The evolution towards a higher-level managementrequires management information obtained from physicalto application elements as well as distinct resources(e.g., PC, UNIX workstations). This issue is difficult because the modeling of managementinformation is realized in many different ways and theinformation model integration represents an acutecurrent concern. In this paper we discuss thisintegration issue by specifying the sources of ManagementInformation Base (MIB) heterogeneity and identifyingtheoretical means characterizing approaches dealing withinformation models integration. Based on these results, the analysis of some existingintegration approaches led to dissatisfactions thusjustifying our contribution: integration guidelines andtheir implementation.

This paper introduces the special issue on information systems, identity and identification. In addition to introducing the papers in the special issue, it provides a state-of-the-art review of research into identity and identification to contextualise the contributions of the special issue papers. The paper reviews research themes in personal and organisational identity as well as research challenges in identification before considering the interplay between these two strands.     

Guest Editors' Introduction: Addressing the Challenges of Debug and Diagnosis

The cost of silicon debug can be considerable and unpredictable. Problems can range from catastrophic to subtle. Once errors have been observed, debug takes over. When problems arise, the first challenge is to categorize them. Causes can range from incorrect specifications to silicon defects, to measurement errors. This special issue focuses on all aspects of a successful debug process: how to prepare, what to do during debug, and how to use the results to improve things in the future. The seven articles in this issue cover a broad variety of topics in silicon debug and diagnosis, as well as the newly emerging middle ground between the two: at-speed timing failures.

知识产权侵权归责原则是知识产权侵权法理论的核心问题,也是司法实践中处理知识产权案件的重要准则,因而很值得探讨。我国学术界和实务界对这一问题的认识存在分歧,其中一种突出的观点是主张无过错责任原则。但在设计知识产权问题上,该原则显得非常不符合行业现状和需要。作者主张设计知识产权侵权归责应实行过错责任原则,并在考察侵权行为法、知识产权法相关原理的基础上对无过错责任论提出质疑。

Topics of interest included empirical and theoretical investigations of issues arising from assumptions of prior coordination, as well as solutions in the form of novel models and algorithms for effective multiagent interaction without prior coordination.

针对现有协商策略机制在处理动态议题方面的不足，提出了一种新的提议生成策略机制。一方面，该机制通过对现有机制的重新整合简化了META策略的设计；另一方面，对新机制中引入的折中算法进行改进，使之有效适应了协商过程中的议题动态变化。实验表明，该策略机制在议题动态变化时既保证了协商成功时间，又保证了协商双方联合效用，在议题动态性方面表现了良好的适应能力。     

Exploitation of Social Media for Emergency Relief and Preparedness: Recent Research and Trends

Online Social Media, such as Twitter, Facebook and WhatsApp, are important sources of real-time information related to emergency events, including both natural calamities, man-made disasters, epidemics, and so on. There has been lot of recent work on designing information systems that would be useful for aiding post-disaster relief operations, as well as for pre-disaster preparedness. A special issue on “Exploitation of Social Media for Emergency Relief and Preparedness” was conducted for the journal Information Systems Frontiers. The objective of this special issue was to present a platform for dissemination of the empirical results of various technologies for extracting vital and actionable information from social media content in disaster situations. The papers included in this issue are expected to be the stepping stones for future explorations and technical innovations towards technologies meant for utilizing various online and offline information sources for enhancing pre-disaster preparedness and post-disaster relief operations.

On the numerical simulation of the unsteady free fall of a solid in a fluid: I. The Newtonian case

In the last decade, extensive experiments have been carried out in order to gain a better insight in the phenomenology related to the motion of a falling body in a quiescent Newtonian fluid. This renewal of interest in that subject is due not only to the lack of full theoretical explanations of the intricate body motion but also to the high relevance of that issue in applications ranging from meteorology, sedimentology and aerospace engineering to biology. We present a new numerical method for the simulation of the instationary free fall of a unique solid in a fluid. A key ingredient of the proposed approach is the reformulation of the conservation and kinetic equations in the solid frame as well as the explicit treatment of the fluid-body coupling. The issue of non-smooth data in time resulting from our explicit approach is addressed. The time stepping is based on the implicit fractional-step-θ scheme and the spatial discretization relies on the finite element method. Numerical experiments for the steady-falling regime, for the periodic oscillating motion as well as for the tumbling motion are presented following existing experimental set-up. The proposed method is validated by comparison with experimental data.
