A series of CuO/ZnO/Al_2O_3, CuO/ZnO/ZrO_2/Al_2O_3 and CuO/ZnO/CeO_2/Al_2O_3 catalysts were prepared by coprecipitation and characterized by N_2 adsorption, XRD, TPR, N_2O titration and HRTEM. The catalytic performances of these catalysts for the steam reforming of methanol were evaluated in a laboratory-scale fixed-bed reactor at 0.1 MPa and temperatures between 473 and 543 K. The results showed that the catalytic activity depended greatly on the catalyst reducibility and the specific surface area of Cu. An approximate linear correlation between the catalytic activity and the Cu surface area was found for all catalysts investigated in this study.Compared to CuO/ZnO/Al_2O_3, the ZrO_2-doped CuO/ZnO/Al_2O_3 exhibited higher activity and selectivity to CO,while the CeO_2-doped catalyst displayed lower activity and selectivity. Finally, an intrinsic kinetic study was carried out over a screened CuO/ZnO/CeO_2/Al_2O_3 catalyst in the absence of internal and external mass transfer effects. A good agreement was observed between the model-derived effluent concentrations of CO(CO_2) and the experimental data. The activation energies for the reactions of methanol-steam reforming, water-gas shift and methanol decomposition over CuO/ZnO/CeO_2/Al_2O_3 were 93.1, 85.1 and 116.5 k J·mol~(-1), respectively.

The effect of the Pd addition method into the fresh Pd/(OSC + Al2O3) and (Pd + OSC)/Al2O3 catalysts (OSC material = CexZr1−xO2 mixed oxides) was investigated in this study. The CO + NO and CO + NO + O2 model reactions were studied over fresh and aged catalysts. The differences in the fresh catalysts were insignificant compared to the aged catalysts. During the CO + NO reaction, only small differences were observed in the behaviour of the fresh catalysts. The light-off temperature of CO was about 20 °C lower for the fresh Pd/(OSC + Al2O3) catalyst than for the fresh (Pd + OSC)/Al2O3 catalyst during the CO + NO + O2 reaction. For the aged catalysts lower NO reduction and CO oxidation activities were observed, as expected. Pd on OSC-containing alumina was more active than Pd on OSC material after the agings. The activity decline is due to a decrease in the number of active sites on the surface, which was observed as a larger Pd particle size for aged catalysts than for fresh catalysts. In addition, the oxygen storage capacity of the aged Pd/(OSC + Al2O3) catalyst was higher than that of the (Pd + OSC)/Al2O3 catalyst.  相似文献

Combustion of CO, ethyl acetate and ethanol was studied over CuOx/Al2O3, CuOx–CeO2/Al2O3, CuMn2O4/Al2O3 and Mn2O3/Al2O3 catalysts. It was found that modification of the alumina with ceria before subsequent copper oxide deposition increases the activity for combustion of CO substantially, but the effect of ceria was small on the combustion of ethyl acetate and ethanol. The activity increases with the CuOx loading until crystalline CuO particles are formed, which contribute little to the total active surface. The CuOx–CeO2/Al2O3 catalyst is more active than the CuMn2O4/Al2O3 catalyst for the oxidation of CO but the CuMn2O4/Al2O3 catalyst is more active for the combustion of ethyl acetate and ethanol.

Thermal ageing and water vapour in the feed caused a modest decrease in activity and did not affect the CuOx–CeO2/Al2O3 and CuMn2O4/Al2O3 catalysts differently. In addition, no difference in intermediates formed over the two catalysts was observed.

Characterisation with XRD, FT-Raman and TPR indicates that the copper oxide is present as a copper aluminate surface phase on alumina at low loading. At high loading, bulk CuO crystallites are present as well. Modification of the alumina with ceria before the copper oxide deposition gives well dispersed copper oxide species and bulk CuO crystallites associated to the ceria, in addition to the two copper oxide species on the bare alumina. The distribution of copper species depends on the ceria and copper oxide loading. The alumina supported copper manganese oxide and manganese oxide catalysts consist mainly of crystalline CuMn2O4 and Mn2O3, respectively, on Al2O3.  相似文献

A new catalyst composed of nickel oxide and cerium oxide was studied with respect to its activity for NO reduction by CO under stoichiometric conditions in the absence as well as the presence of oxygen. Activity measurements of the NO/CO reaction were also conducted over NiO/γ-Al2O3, NiO/TiO2, and NiO/CeO2 catalysts for comparison purposes. The results showed that the conversion of NO and CO are dependent on the nature of supports, and the catalysts decreased in activity in the order of NiO/CeO2 > NiO/γ-Al2O3 > NiO/TiO2. Three kinds of CeO2 were prepared and used as support for NiO. They are the CeO2 prepared by (i) homogeneous precipitation (HP), (ii) precipitation (PC), and (iii) direct decomposition (DP) method. We found that the NiO/CeO2(HP) catalyst was the most active, and complete conversion of NO and CO occurred at 210 °C at a space velocity of 120,000 h−1. Based on the results of surface analysis, a reaction model for NO/CO interaction over NiO/CeO2 has been proposed: (i) CO reduces surface oxygen to create vacant sites; (ii) on the vacant sites, NO dissociates to produce N2; and (iii) the oxygen originated from NO dissociation is removed by CO.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of Pt on alumina catalysts, with and without MnOx incorporated to the catalyst formulation, for CO oxidation in H2-free as well as in H2-rich stream (PROX) has been studied in the temperature range of 25–250 °C. The effect of catalyst preparation (by successive impregnation or by co-impregnation of Mn and Pt) and Mn content in the catalyst performance has been studied. A low Mn content (2 wt.%) has been found not to improve the catalyst activity compared to the base catalyst. However, catalysts prepared by successive impregnation with 8 and 15 wt.% Mn have shown a lower operation temperature for maximum CO conversion than the base catalyst with an enhanced catalyst activity at low temperatures with respect to Pt/Al2O3. A maximum CO conversion of 89.8%, with selectivity of 44.9% and CO yield of 40.3% could be reached over a catalyst with 15 wt.% Mn operating at 139 °C and λ = 2. The effect of the presence of 5 vol.% CO2 and 5 vol.% H2O in the feedstream on catalysts performance has also been studied and discussed. The presence of CO2 in the feedstream enhances the catalytic performance of all the studied catalysts at high temperature, whereas the presence of steam inhibits catalysts with higher MnOx content.  相似文献

In this study, a novel bifunctional catalyst IrFe/Al2O3, which is very active and selective for preferential oxidation of CO under H2-rich atmosphere, has been developed. When the molar ratio of Fe/Ir was 5/1, the IrFe/Al2O3 catalyst performed best, with CO conversion of 68% and oxygen selectivity towards CO2 formation of 86.8% attained at 100 °C. It has also been found that the impregnation sequence of Ir and Fe species on the Al2O3 support had a remarkable effect on the catalytic performance; the activity decreased following the order of IrFe/Al2O3 > co-IrFe/Al2O3 > FeIr/Al2O3. The three catalysts were characterized by XRD, H2-TPR, FT-IR and microcalorimetry. The results demonstrated that when Ir was supported on the pre-formed Fe/Al2O3, the resulting structure (IrFe/Al2O3) allowed more metallic Ir sites exposed on the surface and accessible for CO adsorption, while did not interfere with the O2 activation on the FeOx species. Thus, a bifunctional catalytic mechanism has been proposed where CO adsorbed on Ir sites and O2 adsorbed on FeOx sites; the reaction may take place at the interface of Ir and FeOx or via a spill-over process.  相似文献

A series of CeO2 promoted cobalt spinel catalysts were prepared by the co-precipitation method and tested for the decomposition of nitrous oxide (N2O). Addition of CeO2 to Co3O4 led to an improvement in the catalytic activity for N2O decomposition. The catalyst was most active when the molar ratio of Ce/Co was around 0.05. Complete N2O conversion could be attained over the CoCe0.05 catalyst below 400 °C even in the presence of O2, H2O or NO. Methods of XRD, FE-SEM, BET, XPS, H2-TPR and O2-TPD were used to characterize these catalysts. The analytical results indicated that the addition of CeO2 could increase the surface area of Co3O4, and then improve the reduction of Co3+ to Co2+ by facilitating the desorption of adsorbed oxygen species, which is the rate-determining step of the N2O decomposition over cobalt spinel catalyst. We conclude that these effects, caused by the addition of CeO2, are responsible for the enhancement of catalytic activity of Co3O4.  相似文献

Ni catalysts supported on γ-Al2O3, CeO2 and CeO2–Al2O3 systems were tested for catalytic CO2 reforming of methane into synthesis gas. Ni/CeO2–Al2O3 catalysts showed much better catalytic performance than either CeO2- or γ-Al2O3-supported Ni catalysts. CeO2 as a support for Ni catalysts produced a strong metal–support interaction (SMSI), which reduced the catalytic activity and carbon deposition. However, CeO2 had positive effect on catalytic activity, stability, and carbon suppression when used as a promoter in Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts for this reaction. A weight loading of 1–5 wt% CeO2 was found to be the optimum. Ni catalysts with CeO2 promoters reduced the chemical interaction between nickel and support, resulting in an increase in reducibility and stronger dispersion of nickel. The stability and less coking on CeO2-promoted catalysts are attributed to the oxidative properties of CeO2.  相似文献

Reforming of methane with carbon dioxide into syngas over Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts modified by potassium, MnO and CeO2 was studied. The catalysts were prepared by impregnation technique and were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption isotherm, BET surface area, pore volume, and BJH pore size distribution measurements, and by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The performance of these catalysts was evaluated by conducting the reforming reaction in a fixed bed reactor. The coke content of the catalysts was determined by oxidation conducted in a thermo-gravimetric analyzer. Incorporation of potassium and CeO2 (or MnO) onto the catalyst significantly reduced the coke formation without significantly affecting the methane conversion and hydrogen yield. The stability and the lower amount of coking on promoted catalysts were attributed to partial coverage of the surface of nickel by patches of promoters and to their increased CO2 adsorption, forming a surface reactive carbonate species. Addition of CeO2 or MnO reduced the particle size of nickel, thus increasing Ni dispersion. For Ni–K/CeO2–Al2O3 catalysts, the improved stability was further attributed to the oxidative properties of CeO2. Results of the investigation suggest that stable Ni/Al2O3 catalysts for the carbon dioxide reforming of methane can be prepared by addition of both potassium and CeO2 (or MnO) as promoters.  相似文献

The activity and selectivity of rhenium promoted cobalt Fischer–Tropsch catalysts supported on Al2O3, TiO2 and SiO2 have been studied in a fixed-bed reactor at 483 K and 20 bar. Exposure of the catalysts to water added to the feed deactivates the Al2O3 supported catalyst, while the activity of the TiO2 and SiO2 supported catalysts increased. However, at high concentrations of water both the SiO2 and TiO2 supported catalyst deactivated. Common for all catalysts was an increase in C5+ selectivity and a decrease in the CH4 selectivity by increasing the water partial pressure. The catalysts have been characterized by scanning transmission electron microscope (STEM), BET, H2 chemisorption and X-ray diffraction (XRD).  相似文献

Noble metal (Rh, Pt, Pd, Ir, Ru, and Ag) and Ni catalysts supported on CeO2–Al2O3 were investigated for water gas shift reaction at ultrahigh temperatures. Pt/CeO2–Al2O3 and Ru/CeO2–Al2O3 demonstrated as the best catalysts in terms of activity, hydrogen yield and hydrogen selectivity. At 700 °C and steam to CO ratio of 5.2:1, Pt/CeO2–Al2O3 converted 76.3% of CO with 94.7% of hydrogen selectivity. At the same conditions, the activity and hydrogen selectivity for Ru/CeO2–Al2O3 were 63.9% and 85.6%, respectively. Both catalysts showed a good stability over 9 h of continuous operation. However, both catalysts showed slight deactivation during the test period. The study revealed that Pt/CeO2–Al2O3 and Ru/CeO2–Al2O3 were excellent ultrahigh temperature water gas shift catalysts, which can be coupled with biomass gasification in a downstream reactor.  相似文献

The role of La2O3 loading in Pd/Al2O3-La2O3 prepared by sol–gel on the catalytic properties in the NO reduction with H2 was studied. The catalysts were characterized by N2 physisorption, temperature-programmed reduction, differential thermal analysis, temperature-programmed oxidation and temperature-programmed desorption of NO.

The physicochemical properties of Pd catalysts as well as the catalytic activity and selectivity are modified by La2O3 inclusion. The selectivity depends on the NO/H2 molar ratio (GHSV = 72,000 h−1) and the extent of interaction between Pd and La2O3. At NO/H2 = 0.5, the catalysts show high N2 selectivity (60–75%) at temperatures lower than 250 °C. For NO/H2 = 1, the N2 selectivity is almost 100% mainly for high temperatures, and even in the presence of 10% H2O vapor. The high N2 selectivity indicates a high capability of the catalysts to dissociate NO upon adsorption. This property is attributed to the creation of new adsorption sites through the formation of a surface PdOx phase interacting with La2O3. The formation of this phase is favored by the spreading of PdO promoted by La2O3. DTA shows that the phase transformation takes place at temperatures of 280–350 °C, while TPO indicates that this phase transformation is related to the oxidation process of PdO: in the case of Pd/Al2O3 the O2 uptake is consistent with the oxidation of PdO to PdO2, and when La2O3 is present the O2 uptake exceeds that amount (1.5 times). La2O3 in Pd catalysts promotes also the oxidation of Pd and dissociative adsorption of NO mainly at low temperatures (<250 °C) favoring the formation of N2.  相似文献

Dispersing La2O3 on δ- or γ-Al2O3 significantly enhances the rate of NO reduction by CH4 in 1% O2, compared to unsupported La2O3. Typically, no bend-over in activity occurs between 500° and 700°C, and the rate at 700°C is 60% higher than that with a Co/ZSM-5 catalyst. The final activity was dependent upon the La2O3 precursor used, the pretreatment, and the La2O3 loading. The most active family of catalysts consisted of La2O3 on γ-Al2O3 prepared with lanthanum acetate and calcined at 750°C for 10 h. A maximum in rate (mol/s/g) and specific activity (mol/s/m2) occurred between the addition of one and two theoretical monolayers of La2O3 on the γ-Al2O3 surface. The best catalyst, 40% La2O3/γ-Al2O3, had a turnover frequency at 700°C of 0.05 s−1, based on NO chemisorption at 25°C, which was 15 times higher than that for Co/ZSM-5. These La2O3/Al2O3 catalysts exhibited stable activity under high conversion conditions as well as high CH4 selectivity (CH4 + NO vs. CH4 + O2). The addition of Sr to a 20% La2O3/γ-Al2O3 sample increased activity, and a maximum rate enhancement of 45% was obtained at a SrO loading of 5%. In contrast, addition of SO=4 to the latter Sr-promoted La2O3/Al2O3 catalyst decreased activity although sulfate increased the activity of Sr-promoted La2O3. Dispersing La2O3 on SiO2 produced catalysts with extremely low specific activities, and rates were even lower than with pure La2O3. This is presumably due to water sensitivity and silicate formation. The La2O3/Al2O3 catalysts are anticipated to show sufficient hydrothermal stability to allow their use in certain high-temperature applications.  相似文献

Pt supported on CeO2 and 10 wt.% La3+-doped CeO2 catalysts have been prepared, characterised and tested for soot oxidation by O2 in TGA. The reaction mechanism has been studied in a TAP reactor with labelled O2. Isotopic oxygen exchange between molecular O2 and ‘O’ on the support/catalyst was observed and soot oxidation is being carried out by lattice oxygen. TAP studies further show that Pt improves O2 adsorption and, therefore, 5 wt.% Pt-containing catalysts are more active for soot oxidation than the counterpart supports. In addition, CeO2 doping by La3+ leads to an improved support, since La3+ stabilises the structure of CeO2 when calcined at high temperature (1000 °C) and minimises sintering. In addition, La3+ improves the Ce4+/Ce3+ reduction as deduced from H2-TPR experiments and favours oxygen mobility into the lattice. A synergetic effect of Pt and La3+ is observed, Pt-containing La3+-doped CeO2 being the most active catalyst for soot oxidation by O2 among the samples studied.  相似文献

The importance of the hydrodearomatisation (HDA) is increasing together with tightening legislation of fuel quality and exhaust emissions. The present study focuses on hydrogenation (HYD) kinetics of the model aromatic compound naphthalene, found in typical diesel fraction, in n-hexadecane over a NiMo (nickel molybdenum), Ni (nickel) and Ru (ruthenium) supported on trilobe alumina (Al2O3) catalysts. Kinetic reaction expressions based on the mechanistic Langmuir–Hinshelwood (L–H) model were derived and tested by regressing the experimental data that translated the effect of both naphthalene and hydrogen concentration at a constant temperature (523.15 and 573.15 K over the NiMo catalyst and at 373.15 K over the Ni and Ru/Al2O3 catalysts) on the initial reaction rate. The L–H equation, giving an adequate fit to the experimental data with physically meaningful parameters, suggested a competitive adsorption between hydrogen and naphthalene over the presulphided NiMo catalyst and a non-competitive adsorption between these two reactants over the prereduced Ni and Ru/Al2O3 catalysts. In addition, the adsorption constant values indicated that the prereduced Ru catalyst was a much more active catalyst towards naphthalene HYD than the prereduced Ni/Al2O3 or the presulphided NiMo/Al2O3 catalyst.  相似文献

In this paper, Co3O4/CeO2 catalysts for steam reforming of ethanol (SRE) were prepared by co-precipitation and impregnation methods. The catalysts prepared by co-precipitation were very active and selective for SRE. Over 10%Co3O4/CeO2 catalyst, ethanol conversion was close to 100% and hydrogen selectivity was about 70% at 450 °C. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction, temperature-programmed reduction (TPR) and BET surface area measurements. The preparation method influenced the interaction between cobalt and CeO2 evidently. The incorporation of Co ions into CeO2 crystal lattice resulted in weaker interaction between cobalt and ceria on catalyst surface. In comparison with catalysts prepared by impregnation, more cobalt ions entered into CeO2 lattice, and resulted in weaker interaction between active phase and ceria on surface of Co3O4/CeO2 prepared by co-precipitation. Thus, cobalt oxides was easier to be reduced to metal cobalt which was the key active component for SRE. Meanwhile, the incorporation of Co ions into CeO2 crystal lattice was beneficial for resistance to carbon deposition.  相似文献

Oxidation of propene and propane to CO2 and H2O has been studied over Au/Al2O3 and two different Au/CuO/Al2O3 (4 wt.% Au and 7.4 wt.% Au) catalysts and compared with the catalytic behaviour of Au/Co3O4/Al2O3 (4.1 wt.% Au) and Pt/Al2O3 (4.8 wt.% Pt) catalysts. The various characterization techniques employed (XRD, HRTEM, TPR and DR-UV–vis) revealed the presence of metallic gold, along with a highly dispersed CuO (6 wt.% CuO), or more crystalline CuO phase (12 wt.% CuO).

A higher CuO loading does not significantly influence the catalytic performance of the catalyst in propene oxidation, the gold loading appears to be more important. Moreover, it was found that 7.4Au/CuO/Al2O3 is almost as active as Pt/Al2O3, whereas Au/Co3O4/Al2O3 performs less than any of the CuO-containing gold-based catalysts.

The light-off temperature for C3H8 oxidation is significantly higher than for C3H6. For this reaction the particle size effect appears to prevail over the effect of gold loading. The most active catalysts are 4Au/CuO/Al2O3 (gold particles less than 3 nm) and 4Au/Co3O4/Al2O3 (gold particles less than 5 nm).  相似文献

Surface-phase ZrO2 on SiO2 (SZrOs) and surface-phase La2O3 on Al2O3 (SLaOs) were prepared with various loadings of ZrO2 and La2O3, characterized and used as supports for preparing Pt/SZrOs and Pt/SLaOs catalysts. CH4/CO2 reforming over the Pt/SZrOs and Pt/SLaOs catalysts was examined and compared with Pt/Al2O3 and Pt/SiO2 catalysts. CO2 or CH4 pulse reaction/adsorption analysis was employed to elucidate the effects of these surface-phase oxides.

The zirconia can be homogeneously dispersed on SiO2 to form a stable surface-phase oxide. The lanthana cannot be spread well on Al2O3, but it forms a stable amorphous oxide with Al2O3. The Pt/SZrOs and Pt/SLaOs catalysts showed higher steady activity than did Pt/SiO2 and Pt/Al2O3 by a factor of three to four. The Pt/SZrOs and Pt/SLaOs catalysts were also much more stable than the Pt/SiO2 and Pt/Al2O3 catalysts for long stream time and for reforming temperatures above 700 °C. These findings were attributed to the activation of CO2 adsorbed on the basic sites of SZrOs and SLaOs.  相似文献
