以费城生态基础设施规划研究为例,通过案例研究的方法从演进过程、规划方法、规划结构等三个方面对城市生态基础设施进行分析,总结并指出费城生态基础设施网络的构建和评价体系对于我国城市建设的借鉴意义。     

The Role of Design in City Planning: With Reference to Center-City Philadelphia

We must have a reaffirmation of beauty as a community value. The form of the city must be considered from the physical as well as the economic and social view. [ddot] Toward these ends there are few stated philosophies on the function of physical design in city planning. Questions of city form are, by default, going to be answered by those less able to do the job than are city planners. This article seeks to define the role of the urban designer in the planning process and to illustrate, by one example, the possible implications.     

Planning and Politics in Urban Development

As a result of central city decay, both urban renewal and metropolitan area planning are emerging into the forefront of local politics. Realistic politicians are eyeing the vote-getting appeal of planning. Planners are increasingly abandoning their aloof role of unloved civic vestal virgins and entering the civic arena. Plans are ceasing to be the civic New Year's resolution and embalmed work of art of the old master-plan days and becoming the action programs of a problem-solving community. This is clear gain for the quality of local public life and promises to make planning a vital political process rather than an esoteric activity of a professional elite.

从徐州的发展历程看概念规划

Industrial Development Planning

City-wide industrial development activities are coordinated through the city government with other planning and development programs, but are executed by the private, nonprofit Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation. It acts as agent for planning and development of available open land formerly owned by the city, now deposited with the Redevelopment Authority in Philadelphia's industrial Land Bank Program. PIDC also acts as redeveloper-or finds and negotiates for a redeveloper-for industrial renewal projects. This new agency seeks to build economic stability into the structure of governmental and civic developmental programs.
