Recently, macroporous graphene monoliths (MGMs), with ultralow density and good electrical conductivity, have been considered as excellent pressure sensors due to their excellent elasticity with a rapid rate of recovery. However, MGMs can only exhibit good sensitivity when the strain is higher than 20%, which is undesirable for touch‐type pressure sensors, such as artificial skin. Here, an innovative method for the fabrication of freestanding flexible graphene film with bubbles decorated on honeycomb‐like network is demonstrated. Due to the switching effect depended on “point‐to‐point” and “point‐to‐face” contact modes, the graphene pressure sensor has an ultrahigh sensitivity of 161.6 kPa?1 at a strain less than 4%, several hundred times higher than most previously reported pressure sensors. Moreover, the graphene pressure sensor can monitor human motions such as finger bending and pulse with a very low operating voltage of 10 mV, which is sufficiently low to allow for powering by energy‐harvesting devices, such as triboelectric generators. Therefore, the high sensitivity, low operating voltage, long cycling life, and large‐scale fabrication of the pressure sensors make it a promising candidate for manufacturing low‐cost artificial skin.  相似文献

Soft, capacitive tactile (pressure) sensors are important for applications including human–machine interfaces, soft robots, and electronic skins. Such capacitors consist of two electrodes separated by a soft dielectric. Pressing the capacitor brings the electrodes closer together and thereby increases capacitance. Thus, sensitivity to a given force is maximized by using dielectric materials that are soft and have a high dielectric constant, yet such properties are often in conflict with each other. Here, a liquid metal elastomer foam (LMEF) is introduced that is extremely soft (elastic modulus 7.8 kPa), highly compressible (70% strain), and has a high permittivity. Compressing the LMEF displaces the air in the foam structure, increasing the permittivity over a large range (5.6–11.7). This is called “positive piezopermittivity.” Interestingly, it is discovered that the permittivity of such materials decreases (“negative piezopermittivity”) when compressed to large strain due to the geometric deformation of the liquid metal droplets. This mechanism is theoretically confirmed via electromagnetic theory, and finite element simulation. Using these materials, a soft tactile sensor with high sensitivity, high initial capacitance, and large capacitance change is demonstrated. In addition, a tactile sensor powered wirelessly (from 3 m away) with high power conversion efficiency (84%) is demonstrated.  相似文献

Wearable strain sensors are widely researched as core components in electronic skin. However, their limited capability of detecting only a single axial strain, and their low sensitivity, stability, opacity, and high production costs hinder their use in advanced applications. Herein, multiaxially highly sensitive, optically transparent, chemically stable, and solution‐processed strain sensors are demonstrated. Transparent indium tin oxide and zinc oxide nanocrystals serve as metallic and insulating components in a metal–insulator matrix and as active materials for strain gauges. Synergetic sensitivity‐ and stability‐reinforcing agents are developed using a transparent SU‐8 polymer to enhance the sensitivity and encapsulate the devices, elevating the gauge factor up to over 3000 by blocking the reconnection of cracks caused by the Poisson effect. Cross‐shaped patterns with an orthogonal crack strategy are developed to detect a complex multiaxial strain, efficiently distinguishing strains applied in various directions with high sensitivity and selectivity. Finally, all‐transparent wearable strain sensors with Ag nanowire electrodes are fabricated using an all‐solution process, which effectively measure not only the human motion or emotion, but also the multiaxial strains occurring during human motion in real time. The strategies can provide a pathway to realize cost‐effective and high‐performance wearable sensors for advanced applications such as bio‐integrated devices.  相似文献

This report demonstrates a wearable elastomer‐based electronic skin including resistive sensors for monitoring finger articulation and capacitive tactile pressure sensors that register distributed pressure along the entire length of the finger. Pressure sensitivity in the order of 0.001 to 0.01 kPa?1 for pressures from 5 to 405 kPa, which includes much of the range of human physiological sensing, is achieved by implementing soft, compressible silicone foam as the dielectric and stretchable thin‐metal films. Integrating these sensors in a textile glove allows the decoupling of the strain and pressure cross‐sensitivity of the tactile sensors, enabling precise grasp analysis. The sensorized glove is implemented in a human‐in‐the‐loop system for controlling the grasp of objects, a critical step toward hand prosthesis with integrated sensing capabilities.  相似文献

The adoption of epidermal electronics into everyday life requires new design and fabrication paradigms, transitioning away from traditional rigid, bulky electronics towards soft devices that adapt with high intimacy to the human body. Here, a new strategy is reported for fabricating achieving highly stretchable “island‐bridge” (IB) electrochemical devices based on thick‐film printing process involving merging the deterministic IB architecture with stress‐enduring composite silver (Ag) inks based on eutectic gallium‐indium particles (EGaInPs) as dynamic electrical anchors within the inside the percolated network. The fabrication of free‐standing soft Ag‐EGaInPs‐based serpentine “bridges” enables the printed microstructures to maintain mechanical and electrical properties under an extreme (≈800%) strain. Coupling these highly stretchable “bridges” with rigid multifunctional “island” electrodes allows the realization of electrochemical devices that can sustain high mechanical deformation while displaying an extremely attractive and stable electrochemical performance. The advantages and practical utility of the new printed Ag‐liquid metal‐based island‐bridge designs are discussed and illustrated using a wearable biofuel cell. Such new scalable and tunable fabrication strategy will allow to incorporate a wide range of materials into a single device towards a wide range of applications in wearable electronics.  相似文献

Highly sensitive, wearable and durable strain sensors are vital to the development of health monitoring systems, smart robots and human machine interfaces. The recent sensor fabrication progress is respectable, but it is limited by complexity, low sensitivity and unideal service life. Herein a facile, cost‐effective and scalable method is presented for the development of high‐performance strain sensors and stretchable conductors based on a composite film consisting of graphene platelets (GnPs) and silicon rubber. Through calculation by the tunneling theory using experimental data, the composite film has demonstrated ideal linear and reproducible sensitivity to tensile strains, which is contributed by the superior piezoresistivity of GnPs having tunable gauge factors 27.7–164.5. The composite sensors fabricated in different days demonstrate pretty similar performance, enabling applications as a health‐monitoring device to detect various human motions from finger bending to pulse. They can be used as electronic skin, a vibration sensor and a human‐machine interface controller. Stretchable conductors are made by coating and encapsulating GnPs with polydimethyl siloxane to create another composite; this structure allows the conductor to be readily bent and stretched with sufficient mechanical robustness and cyclability.  相似文献

Epidermal electronics have been attracting considerable attention due to their various potential applications in human-computer interaction and health monitoring. However, because of the lack of a self-adhesive and stable interconnect method between epidermal electronic sensors and rigid circuit boards, there remain difficulties in detecting body signals accurately by epidermal electronic sensors in daily life. Here, a 3D helical on-skin interconnect is first introduced for epidermal electronics sensors. Inspired by the structure of the accordion lantern, the interconnect is composed of two electrospinning polyurethane (PU) fiber films and a helical metal fiber. The helical metal fiber acts as a stable conductor with stretchability, and the PU fiber film with polydimethylsiloxane provides a self-adhesive substrate. Mechanical simulations and tests prove that the proposed interconnect can laminate conformally and unobtrusively onto human skin with excellent electrical stability (less than 0.5% electrical resistance change upon 100% elongation). Furthermore, based on the proposed interconnect, an all-in-one sensor-interconnect design is presented, which endows the epidermal electronic systems with anti-motion interference capability. A gesture identification wristband system realized by a single all-in-one strain sensor is demonstrated. Besides, a wireless on-skin system that accurately monitors dynamic 12-lead electrocardiographic is successfully built using all-in-one electrodes.  相似文献

A systematic investigation of the nanoparticle‐enhanced light trapping in thin‐film silicon solar cells is reported. The nanoparticles are fabricated by annealing a thin Ag film on the cell surface. An optimisation roadmap for the plasmon‐enhanced light‐trapping scheme for self‐assembled Ag metal nanoparticles is presented, including a comparison of rear‐located and front‐located nanoparticles, an optimisation of the precursor Ag film thickness, an investigation on different conditions of the nanoparticle dielectric environment and a combination of nanoparticles with other supplementary back‐surface reflectors. Significant photocurrent enhancements have been achieved because of high scattering and coupling efficiency of the Ag nanoparticles into the silicon device. For the optimum light‐trapping scheme, a short‐circuit current enhancement of 27% due to Ag nanoparticles is achieved, increasing to 44% for a “nanoparticle/magnesium fluoride/diffuse paint” back‐surface reflector structure. This is 6% higher compared with our previously reported plasmonic short‐circuit current enhancement of 38%. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Promoted by the demand for wearable devices, graphene has been proved to be a promising material for potential applications in flexible and highly sensitive strain sensors. However, low sensitivity and complex processing of graphene retard the development toward the practical applications. Here, an environment‐friendly and cost‐effective method to fabricate large‐area ultrathin graphene films is proposed for highly sensitive flexible strain sensor. The assembled graphene films are derived rapidly at the liquid/air interface by Marangoni effect and the area can be scaled up. These graphene‐based strain sensors exhibit extremely high sensitivity with gauge factor of 1037 at 2% strain, which represents the highest value for graphene platelets at this small deformation so far. This simple fabrication for strain sensors with highly sensitive performance of strain sensor makes it a novel approach to applications in electronic skin, wearable sensors, and health monitoring platforms.  相似文献

This study reports on the fabrication of pressure/temperature/strain sensors and all‐solid‐state flexible supercapacitors using only polydimethylsiloxane coated microporous polypyrrole/graphene foam composite (PDMS/PPy/GF) as a common material. A dual‐mode sensor is designed with PDMS/PPy/GF, which measures pressure and temperature with the changes of current and voltage, respectively, without interference to each other. The fabricated dual‐mode sensor shows high sensitivity, fast response/recovery, and high durability during 10 000 cycles of pressure loading. The pressure is estimated using the thermoelectric voltage induced by simultaneous increase in temperature caused by a finger touch on the sensor. Additionally, a resistor‐type strain sensor fabricated using the same PDMS/PPy/GF could detect the strain up to 50%. Flexible, high performance supercapacitor used as a power supply is fabricated with electrodes of PPy/GF for its high surface area and pseudocapacitance. Furthermore, an integrated system of such fabricated multifunctional sensors and a supercapacitor on a skin‐attachable flexible substrate using liquid–metal interconnections operates well, whereas sensors are driven by the power of the supercapacitor. This study clearly demonstrates that the appropriate choice of a single functional material enables fabrication of active multifunctional sensors for pressure, temperature, and strain, as well as the supercapacitor, that could be used in wirelessly powered wearable devices.  相似文献

研究了在玻璃基底上采用不同厚度的铬膜作过渡层,对银膜的光学性质及其附着力的影响。光谱测量结果表明,随着铬膜层厚度的增加,银膜的反射率先增大后减小。与直接镀在玻璃基底上的银膜的反射率相比,铬膜层厚度为8~14nm时,银膜的反射率较低;铬膜层厚度为17~21nm时,银膜的反射率得到提高,其中铬膜厚度为17nm时,银膜的反射率最高;继续增加铬膜层的厚度,银膜的反射率又降低,说明采用一定厚度的铬膜作过渡层可以提高银膜的反射率。X射线衍射(XRD)结构分析表明,一定厚度的铬膜改善了银膜的结晶程度,使薄膜的晶粒度增大,晶界散射及缺陷减少,从而使应变减小。剥落实验证明薄膜与玻璃基底之间的附着力也得到了提高。  相似文献

Functional graphene optical sensors are now viable due to the recent developments in hand‐held Raman spectroscopy and the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of graphene films. Herein, the strain in graphene/poly (methyl methacrylate) sensor coatings is followed using Raman band shifts. The performance of an “ideal” mechanically‐exfoliated single crystal graphene flake is compared to a scalable CVD graphene film. The dry‐transferred mechanically exfoliated sample has no residual stresses, whereas the CVD sample is in compression following the solvent evaporation during its transfer. The behavior of the sensors under cyclic deformation shows an initial breakdown of the graphene‐polymer interface with the interface then stabilizing after several cycles. The Raman 2D band shift rates per unit strain of the exfoliated graphene are ≈35% higher than CVD graphene making the former more strain sensitive. However, for practical wide‐area applications, CVD graphene coatings are still viable candidates as a Raman system can be used to read the strain in any 5 μm diameter spot in the coating to an absolute accuracy of ≈0.01% strain and resolution of ≈27 microstrains (μs), which compares favorably to commercial photoelastic systems.  相似文献

Schottky (MIS) solar cells typically consist of the structure 5Å Cr/50Å Cu/40Å Cr/20Å oxide/silicon. A study of metal diffusion and precise oxide thickness is important to predict the stability of such a device. Devices fabricated using the same process are shown to have almost identical electronic performance. Auger profiles show that the metal films do not penetrate through adjacent regions except when Ag is used in place of Cu. Ag does penetrate through the Cr and into the Si which alters the electronic properties. Ellipsometer studies show the insulator to range in thickness from 20Å to 28Å which may be controlled by variation of the heat-treatment cycle. Environmental studies of encapsulated solar cells show that polystyrene offers more protection than Sylgard l84. Failures due to dirt coatings, discoloration, thermal stresses, poor wire bonds, voltage degradation, and fill factor degradation have been observed. Properly fabricated and encapsulated cells have performed well for more than a year. A hermetic encapsulation may be necessary for future long term stability.  相似文献

Conductive coatings on complex fibrous systems are attracting interest for new electronic and other functional systems. Obtaining a quantitative conductivity value for complex surface coatings is often difficult. This work describes a procedure to quantify the effective electrical conductivity of conductive coatings on non‐conductive fibrous networks. By applying a normal force orthogonal to the current and field direction, fiber/fiber contact is improved and consistent conductance values can be measured. Nylon fibers coated with an electroless silver plating shows effective conductivity up to 1950 S cm?1, and quartz fibers coated with tungsten by atomic layer deposition (ALD) show values up to ~1150 S cm?1. Cotton fibers and paper coated with a range of ZnO film thicknesses by ALD show effective conductivity of up to 24 S cm?1 under applied normal force, and conductivity scaled as expected with film coating thickness. Furthermore, we use the conductive coatings to produce an “all‐fiber” metal–insulator–metal capacitor that functions as a liquid chemical sensor. The ability to reliably analyze the effective conductivity of coatings on complex fiber systems will be important to design and improve performance of similar devices and other electronic textiles structures.  相似文献

Sensing strain of soft materials in small scale has attracted increasing attention. In this work, graphene woven fabrics (GWFs) are explored for highly sensitive sensing. A flexible and wearable strain sensor is assembled by adhering the GWFs on polymer and medical tape composite film. The sensor exhibits the following features: ultra‐light, relatively good sensitivity, high reversibility, superior physical robustness, easy fabrication, ease to follow human skin deformation, and so on. Some weak human motions are chosen to test the notable resistance change, including hand clenching, phonation, expression change, blink, breath, and pulse. Because of the distinctive features of high sensitivity and reversible extensibility, the GWFs based piezoresistive sensors have wide potential applications in fields of the displays, robotics, fatigue detection, body monitoring, and so forth.  相似文献

Nanometerization of liquid metal in organic systems can facilitate deposition of liquid metals onto substrates and then recover its conductivity through sintering. Although having broader potential applications, producing stable aqueous inks of liquid metals keeps challenging because of rapid oxidation of liquid metal when exposing to water and oxygen. Here, a biocompatible aqueous ink is produced by encapsulating alloy nanodroplets of gallium and indium (EGaIn) into microgels of marine polysaccharides. During sonicating bulk EGaIn in aqueous alginate solution, alginate not only facilitates the downsizing process via coordination of their carboxyl groups with Ga ions but also forms microgel shells around EGaIn droplets. Due to the deceasing oxygen‐permeability of microgel shells, aqueous ink of EGaIn nanodroplets can maintain colloidal and chemical stability for a period of >7 d. Crosslinked alginate‐gel with tunable thickness can retard the generation and release of toxic cations, thereby affording high biocompatibility. The soft alginate shells also enable to recover electric conductivity of EGaIn layers by “mechanical sintering” for applications in microcircuits, electric‐thermal actuators, and wearable sensors, offering huge potential for electronic tattoos, artificial limbs, electric skins, etc.  相似文献

Wearable tensile strain sensors have aroused substantial attention on account of their exciting applications in rebuilding tactile inputs of human and intelligent robots. Conventional such devices, however, face the dilemma of both sensitive response to pressure and bending stimulations, and poor breathability for wearing comfort. In this paper, a breathable, pressure and bending insensitive strain sensor is reported, which presents fascinating properties including high sensitivity and remarkable linearity (gauge factor of 49.5 in strain 0–100%, R2 = 99.5%), wide sensing range (up to 200%), as well as superior permeability to moisture, air, and water vapor. On the other hand, it exhibits negligible response to wide-range pressure (0–100 kPa) and bending (0–75%) inputs. This work provides a new route for achieving wearing comfortable, high-performance, and anti-jamming strain sensors.  相似文献

Wearable stretchable strain sensors can have important applications in many areas. However, the high noise is a big hurdle for their application to monitor body movement. The noise is mainly due to the motion artifacts related to the poor contact between the sensors and skin. Here, wearable stretchable dry and self-adhesive strain sensors that can always form conformal contact to skin even during body movement are demonstrated. They are prepared via solution coating and consist of two layers, a dry adhesive layer made of biocompatible elastomeric waterborne polyurethane and a sensing layer made of a non-adhesive composite of reduced graphene oxide and carbon nanotubes. The adhesive layer makes the sensors conformal to skin, while the sensing layer exhibits a resistance sensitive to strain. The sensors are used to accurately monitor both small- and large-scale body movements, including various joint movements and muscle movements. They can always generate high-quality signals even on curvilinear skin surface and during irregular skin deformation. The sensitivity is remarkably higher while the noise is saliently lower than the non-adhesive strain sensors. They can also be used to monitor the movements along two perpendicular directions, which cannot be achieved by the non-adhesive strain sensors.  相似文献
