基于干涉仪动态相移的光纤激光器跳模检测方法   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2

针对已有方法在单频光纤激光器跳模检测中存在的不足,提出一种基于非平衡光纤Michelson干涉仪动态相移的跳模检测方法。使用干涉仪将激光器跳模时的光频突变转换为相位工作点的突变,并通过同步监测相位工作点的正余弦函数两路信号来跟踪与判断它的动态相移,成功实现了对超窄线宽掺铒光纤环形激光器偶发的随机跳模以及由开机瞬态热效应触发的连续多次跳模的测量与分析。结果表明,该方法检测灵敏度高,跳模判据实时直观,并能测量跳模前后可能发生的频漂,为评价单频光纤激光器的模式稳定能提供有效的测试手段。  相似文献

研究和分析了光纤芯区径向折射率分布对大芯径光纤基模的功率传输特性(主要包括最大功率密度和等效模面积这两个参数)的影响。采用一种可适用于多种光纤实际折射率分布的独特数学表达式,研究了折射率分布形状变化时大芯径光纤基模在横截面内功率密度分布与等效模面积的变化,并将结果与阶跃型折射率光纤进行对比。计算结果表明,在传输功率相同、光纤基模与高阶模等效折射率差大于10-4的前提下,折射率在芯区中心有一定凹陷的分布可以有效降低横截面内基模功率密度的最大值,增大基模的等效模面积。这一研究为设计和制作可以传输更大功率的大芯径的无源和有源单模光纤提供了理论基础。  相似文献

为了改善光纤激光器的输出光束特性,将光纤端面加工处理成近似凸球面。从实验上研究了光纤端面为凸球面时对光纤激光器输出光束质量和输出功率的影响。在考虑横向空间烧孔效应的速率方程的基础上,建立了光纤激光器端面选模的理论模型,并对凸端面选模方法进行了数值模拟。结果表明,采取凸端面作为光纤激光器的输出端可以提高输出激光的光束质量。  相似文献

本文在考虑光纤激光器的偏振引起的交叉相位调制的情况下研究了光纤激光器的被动锁模的自启动机理,建立了以激光场耦合方程为基础的光纤激光器工作的理论模型,并就该激光器连续工作时的不稳定性作了详细分析。结果表明,被动锁模的自启动可由光纤激光器连续工作的不稳定性产生。  相似文献

报道了利用熔锥光纤石墨烯饱和吸收体实现1μm波段的双波长锁模掺镱光纤激光器(YDFL)。利用光学诱导沉积法,将水溶液中的石墨烯纳米复合物在光倏逝场的作用下沉积至熔锥光纤的锥腰部位。该石墨烯熔锥光纤器件作为可饱和吸收锁模部件具有制作灵活、全光纤结构以及高损伤阈值等优点。基于该器件的可饱和吸收及腔内双折射滤波特性,通过调节偏振控制器优化激光腔内偏振特性,实现了稳定的YDFL双波长锁模。该激光器的两个锁模波长分别为1034.77nm和1038.85nm,二次谐波锁模重复频率为1.09MHz,腔内单脉冲能量最大可达35nJ。  相似文献

基于自制的双波长低反射率光纤光栅(FBG)作为分布式布拉格反射激光器(DBR)的输出端,实现了掺Yb3+双频DBR光纤激光器。该FBG的双波长间隔为0.12 nm,对应的频差为32 GHz。双频光纤激光器输出的两个波长分别为1 063.09 nm和1 063.21 nm,光谱信噪比大于60 dB。每一个波长只包含一个纵模。两个纵模的拍频信号为32.014 GHz,频谱信噪比大于35 dB。得益于光纤激光器本身具有结构紧凑,抗干扰能力强等特点,该型激光器有望作为高品质,小型化的微波信号源,用于微波传感和通信等领域。  相似文献

皮秒脉冲在超连续谱光源中具有重要应用,基于线形腔搭建了半导体可饱和吸收镜(SESAM)被动锁模皮秒脉冲掺镱光纤激光器,详细分析对比了激光器中所用光纤光栅的反射率、反射带宽以及SESAM的宏观特性参数对锁模激光器输出脉冲特性的影响。实验结果表明:选择10%反射率和0.3nm反射带宽的光纤光栅比较有利于激光器的稳定锁模;光纤激光器对SESAM参数的适用范围比较大,SESAM的非饱和损耗对激光器输出平均功率影响较大,SESAM的非饱和损耗越小,激光器输出脉冲的平均功率越高。  相似文献

本文对被动锁模复合环形腔掺饵光纤激光器的自启动工作特性进行了分析,指出谐振腔内残余反射面的存在是阻碍激光器实现自启动锁模的主要原因。利用半导体激光器有源区的折射率随注入电流的变化而改变的特性,在谐振腔中获得了一个可移动腔镜,克服了腔内残余反射面的影响,实现了锁模的自启动。  相似文献

运用耦合模理论推导了双光纤布拉格光栅(FBG)的透射率和反射率的解析表达式,进一步推导出带双光纤布拉格光栅激光器的增益方程。利用相关表达式讨论双光纤布拉格光栅的反射特性与透射特性,并探究对激光器增益曲线的影响。双光纤布拉格光栅由结构和特性相同的单光纤布拉格光栅构成,通过优化两光纤布拉格光栅之间的距离得到最佳的锁模特性。在工作温度为0℃,20℃,70℃时,分别测量了带双光纤布拉格光栅和单光纤布拉格光栅波长锁定器的非致冷抽运激光器的输出光谱。其结果表明带双光纤布拉格光栅的非致冷抽运激光器输出光谱的稳定性得到了显著改善。在0~70℃温度范围内能稳定工作,波长漂移为0.2 nm,边模抑制比达45 dB,半峰值宽度小于1.57 nm。  相似文献

为给密集波分复用(DWDM)光纤通信及光纤传感系统提供理想光源,设计了一种双波长环形腔掺铒光纤激光器。该激光器采用单支光纤光栅(FBG)和2个3dB耦合器构成可调谐光滤波器,结合多模光纤的偏振烧孔效应,通过改变系统的偏振态来获得波长可调谐的双波长激光输出。实验结果表明:改变系统的偏振态时,可分别获得单波长和双波长激光输出,双波长光纤激光器的最大波长差为4.692nm。引入多模光纤后,激光跳模现象得到明显抑制。  相似文献

基于单模半导体激光器的模式跃变特性,用两个不同的驱动电流交替驱动激光器使其交替输出两个波长相近的激光,一个位于甲烷的一个窄带吸收峰处,被甲烷吸收;另一个错开稍许,不被甲烷吸收,用作参考光束.光束通过气体吸收室后,经光电转换输出方波电信号,两个波长光的强度分别对应方波信号的顶部和底部,随甲烷浓度变化的光,与其相对应方波的顶部也将随着甲烷气体浓度的变化而变化;参考光束的光不被甲烷吸收,与其对应的方波的底部将不随甲烷气体浓度的变化而变化,于是方波的幅值与甲烷浓度成一一对应关系.由于二者的波长相近,当它们通过媒介气体时,尘埃引起的散射或者衰减基本相同,可以用数学方法将其消去.实验结果表明,该方法在不采用昂贵的数字锁相放大器,且气体吸收光程只有10cm的条件下,达到了0.05%的探测灵敏度.  相似文献

A simple all-electronic stabilization scheme is presented for suppression of external-cavity mode-hopping noise in diode lasers. This excess noise is generated when the laser is subjected to optical feedback and may degrade the overall performance of optical systems including sensors. Some detailed properties of mode-hopping noise in semiconductor injection lasers are reported, and the validity of electric negative feedback as a method of suppressing the noise is demonstrated. Mode-hopping noise was found to be an intrinsic property of the laser, independent of optical feedback (reinjection of the output light) reflected at the surface of an external device. The optical feedback works to shift the operating point of the laser from a stable condition having single-mode operation to an unstable condition revealing the modehopping phenomena. Characteristics of the mode-hopping noise support well the theoretical analysis in which the source of the noise is assumed to be fluctuations of the emission and the electron wave accompanied by spontaneous emission and in which the noise is amplified through mechanism of the mode competition phenomena. Mode-hopping noise was suppressed with the help of the electric negative feedback from the optical detector to the injection current source more effectively than by another reducing method of superposition of the high-frequency current. The suppressed noise level was lower than that at stable single-mode operation.  相似文献

The longitudinal mode-hopping and the associated terminal electrical noise in AlGaAs buried heterostructure lasers in an external-cavity configuration are investigated. It is found that the electrical mode-hopping noise has a1/f-dependence when two external-cavity modes are involved in the mode-hopping. Furthermore, it is found that the optical feedback can suppress the electrical noise significantly below the noise level of the free-running laser. This corresponds to a reduction of the emission line width which is in agreement with the reduction of the electrical noise level. A novel, nonoptical, scheme for active elimination of mode-hopping attributable to thermal drift or mechanical disturbances in CW-operated external-cavity lasers is also proposed and demonstrated. Using this method, where the electrical noise is used as an error signal in a control loop, long-term single external-cavity mode operation and low electrical noise and optical intensity noise levels were maintained.  相似文献

An all-fiber based Er^3+ :Yb^3+ co-doped double clad fiber laser operating at 1 550 nm is demonstrated. By using 9 m long Er^3+ : Yb^3+ co-doped fiber(EYDF) as the gain medium, and using a pair of fiber Bragg gratings as wavelength filters, the line-width of the output laser is as narrow as 0.2 nm and the output power is more than 6 mW. The fluorescent effect of the laser before its emission is also studied. And it is found that the Er^3+ : Yb^3+ co-doped double-clad fiber laser also exhibits a high gain for Yb^3+ transition near 1 080 nm.  相似文献

Mode-hopping noise in index-guided semiconductor lasers is investigated. It is found that random switching between lasing modes and output power differences in those modes cause mode-hopping noise. An effective method to suppress such mode-hopping noise is proposed. High Te doping to an n-type GaAlAs cladding layer completely suppresses the noise. Te in GaAlAs forms a DX center that acts as a saturable absorber. This property stabilizes the laser mode and prevents mode competition. The minimum loss difference between lasing and nonlasing modes to suppress mode-hopping noise is also discussed.  相似文献

The wavelength-switchable fiber laser has been studied in this paper. A wavelength-switchable erbium-doped fiber ring laser constructed using cascaded five fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) incorporated with amplitude modulator is achieved and switching over 5 separate wavelengths has been demonstrated. The output power is about −4 dB m, the 3-dB linewidth is less than 0.02 nm, and the side mode suppression ratio is more than 45 dB. The transit process of the wavelength switching from one wavelength to another is studied and the lasing competition is also investigated.  相似文献

Experiments on mode-hopping noise induced by optical feedback are presented for AlGaAs CSP lasers. The influence of the amount of feedback and of the output power have been investigated. It turns out that the amount of excess noise associated with mode hopping strongly depends on the occurrence of hysteresis associated with the mode-hopping transition. The results indicate that the gain suppression near the lasing mode is asymmetric.  相似文献
