欧洲粉末冶金协会1993年对三项产品颁发粉末冶金革新奖

欧洲粉末冶金协会(EPMA)决定授予三项产品“粉末冶金革新奖”。EPMA奖进一步证明了粉末冶金技术能够在开发新产品方面充分发挥作用,而这些产品用传统加工方法生产几乎是不可能的或是很不经济的。     

1992年欧洲金属粉末货运量增加

欧洲粉末冶金协会(EPMA)统计资料表明,1992年粉末冶金用金属粉末货运量超过100000t。由于轻型轿车业使欧洲汽车产量增加到1520万台(比1991年增加了2％),铁粉和钢粉的货运量能按8％的正常速率增加,达到89500t。     

欧洲粉末冶金协会举办首个网络研讨会北大核心

欧洲粉末冶金协会与欧洲金属增材制造部门小组举办了2020年首个可以免费参加的粉末冶金教育性质的网络研讨会,这期研讨会的主题是金属增材制造,约有250人注册参加这次会议。欧洲粉末冶金协会技术主任Kenan Boz在会上表示:相信网络研讨会是欧洲粉末冶金协会促进粉末冶金各领域加深认识和理解的有力工具,并对欧洲粉末冶金协会举办的首个网络研讨会很受欢迎感到欣慰。

“2006粉末冶金世界大会”在韩国釜山召开由韩国粉末冶金学会(KPMI)主办的,在亚洲第三次召开的“2006粉末冶金世界大会与展览会”于11月28日落幕。根据MPIF(美国金属粉末工业联合会)、EPMA(欧洲粉末冶金协会)和JPMA(日本粉末冶金工业会)的协议,每2年轮流在北美、欧洲及亚洲召开一次“粉末冶金世界大会与展览会”。下次会议由MPIF主办,于2008年6月8日至12日在美国华盛顿召开,而2010年的会议,由EPMA主办,在意大利佛罗伦萨召开。釜山会议是“粉末冶金世界大会与展览会”第3次在亚洲召开。第1次与第2次都是由JPMA(日本)主办,分别于1…

欧洲粉末冶金协会（EPMA）出版的“介绍粉末冶金工艺和产品”第6版现在可以从EPMA网站的出版物部分定购。第一版是 The original 1992 edition by Gordon Dowson，has been substantially revised by David Whittaker and theEPMA for the new 2008 release．

2014年全球粉末冶金产业发展概况

在5月18-22日于美国Orlango举办的2014粉末冶金世界会议“全球趋势”全体会议上,MPIF(美国金属粉末工业联合会)主席Richard Pfingstler,EPMA(欧洲粉末冶金协会)主席Philippe Gundermann及JPMA(日本粉末冶金工业会)会长Mamoru Moritani分别作了报告,表明在2008年与2009年的严重经济衰退时期之后,粉末冶金产业再一次持续增长.

Euro PM2007 congress and exhibition

Abstract

Threatened with bureaucratic over-regulation under the EU's newly enacted REACH legislation, and other competitive challenges, the large tonnage section of the European PM industry did not seem to be facing a rosy future as it met in the Ville Rose city of Toulouse. Nevertheless, the EPMA was seen as having a key role in moving the industry forward and resisting the pressures from the large end users, low cost (Asian) producers, and competing technologies. Europe still leads the world in the manufacture of hard materials, but China is expected to overtake Europe in tungsten carbide and diamond tools production within the next 3–5 years. European sales of metal injection moulded parts continue to grow strongly, doubling in value to E140 million between 1997 and 2003. PM research in Europe is very active, with 40 universities and institutes and over 500 researchers involved. These provided the large majority of the European presentations at PM2007.     

Hope and potential for PM in Europe East and West

As economies of scale bring down the price of iron and steel powders globally, Europe will continue to lead in material and process development in PM. But while Western Europe will be forced to concentrate on more expensive high-tech products, Eastern Europe will provide the qualified personnel that will lead expansion, initially in the low-price, high volume end of the market. Powder metallurgy and high-entropy alloys: update on new opportunities

ABSTRACT

This article addresses the development of high-entropy alloys (HEAs) fabricated via Powder Metallurgy (PM) techniques. There are potential opportunities for PM techniques to produce ‘different’ HEAs and offer alternative routes to obtain special compositions. The potential for PM is vast, and the obtained properties are highly competitive with those from HEAs produced by ingot casting. Considerable work must still be done to provide the market with reasons to use PM instead of other processing routes. Since article [Torralba JM, Alvaredo P, García-Junceda A. High-entropy alloys fabricated via powder metallurgy. A critical review. Powder Metall. 2019;62(2), doi:10.1080/00325899.2019.1584454] was published in 2019, more than 100 research works have been issued on this topic. The objective of this paper is to provide an update on some of the new opportunities that have been proposed in the last months.     

PM98 World Congress

Abstract

More than 1500 members of the world PM community gathered in Granada on 18–22 October to discuss the latest developments in the field, while an extensive trade exhibition provided an impressive reminder of the growing strength and diversity of the technology. The event was organised by EPMA with the support of the EPMA Spanish Chapter.

Abstract

Euro PM2008, the 17th Annual European PM Congress, organised and sponsored by the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA), attracted over 600 participants to Mannheim, Germany on 29 September to 1 October.     

Participant modeling with or without cognitive treatment for phobias.

To determine whether cognitive treatment would enhance the effectiveness of participant modeling (PM) treatment for phobias, 36 subjects phobic to dogs and cats were given either PM alone, PM with self-instructional training, PM with self-verbalizations ("thinking aloud"), or placebo treatment. The three PM treatments produced substantial and equivalent improvement in behavior at posttest, in contrast to the placebo group, which did not change. At follow-up, the combined PM/self instructional training group showed more phobic behavior and lower self-efficacy than the other PM groups.
