Based on the direct numerical simulation(DNS), the developing planar jets under different initial conditions, e.g., the conditions of the exit Reynolds number and the exit mean velocity profile, are investigated. We mainly focus on the characteristics of the invariants of the velocity gradient tensor, which provides insights into the evolution of the dynamics and the geometry of the planar jets along with the flow transition. The results show that the initial flow near the jet exit is strongly predominated by the dissipation over the enstrophy, the flow transition is accompanied by a severe rotation and straining of the flow elements, where the vortex structure evolves faster than the fluid element deformation, in the fully-developed state, the irrotational dissipation is dominant and the most probable geometry of the fluid elements should remain between the biaxial stretching and the axisymmetric stretching. In addition, with a small exit Re and a parabolic profile for the exit mean streamwise velocity, the decay of the mean flow field and the magnitude of the turbulent variables will be strengthened in the process of the flow transition, however, a large exit Re will promote the flow transition to the fully-developed state. The cross-impact between the exit Re and the exit mean velocity profile is also observed in the present study.  相似文献

Results of an experimental study of the merging of unequal parallel round turbulent jets are presented.Experiments were conducted for a jet axial separation to nozzle diameter ratio of 3.0 and the Reynolds numbers ranging from 8 000 to 15 000.The distance to the point where the jets are merged was measured for a range of jet source momentum flux ratios.Three different merger criteria were used based on the mean velocity profile,mean passive tracer concentration profile,and Reynolds stress profile.The results show that the concentration profile merges closest to the jet sources followed by the velocity profile with the Reynolds stress profile merging furthest from the nozzles.For all three profiles the merge distance is relatively insensitive to the momentum flux ratio,consistent with previous findings for slot jets and buoyant round jets.The measured merge distances are consistent with previously published results for equal round jets,though the poor spatial resolution of data in the literature means that limited comparison is possible.There are no studies of unequal jet merger currently in the literature that could be used for comparison.  相似文献

通过试验研究了清水湍流和泥浆湍流中加入推移质后时均流速分布、脉动强度、概率密度分布、相关系数、频谱密度分布等的变化.试验结果证明,清水和泥浆湍流中加入推移质后时均流速减小,时均流速梯度增大,脉动加强.泥浆过渡区湍流上部为层流,有流核,加入推移质后,上部层流转变为湍流,流核消失.分析证明,这是由于推移质运动增大了雷诺应力和时均流速梯度,因而增大了时均流动向脉动传递的能量的缘故,清水湍流中加入推移质后脉速概率密度分布偏离正态,偏态系数加大.泥浆湍流中加入推移质后相关系数降低,脉动的随机性增大.泥浆湍流的脉动能量集中于低频脉动.由于推移质也可以吸收低频脉动能来支持其运动,所以加入推移质后泥浆湍流的低频脉动能量降低,高频脉动能量增大.  相似文献

Twin jets flow, generated by two identical parallel axisymmetric nozzles, has been experimentally investigated. The dimensionless spacing (B) between two nozzles were set at 1.89, 1.75 and 1.5. Measurements have been carried out at several free-stream velocities ranging from 10 m/s to 25 m/s or Reynolds numbers (based on the nozzle diameter of 44 mm) ranging from 3.33×104 to 8.33×104. The results show that the twin jets attract each other. With the increasing Reynolds number, the turbulence energy grows, which indicates that the twin jets attract acutely. The jet flow field and the merging process of two jets vary with B. The width of the twin jets flow spreads linearly downstream and grows with B. The merging between two jets occurs at the location closer to the nozzle exit for the cases with smaller spacing between nozzles and higher Reynolds number.  相似文献

为深入了解开孔促淤板周围的水流特性,通过室内概化水槽试验分析了开孔促淤板前后的水流紊动特性,采用声学多普勒流速仪(ADV)测量了开孔促淤板前后典型断面上的三维瞬时流速,分析了典型断面上的时均流速、紊动强度、雷诺切应力和紊动能的分布规律。试验结果表明:板后近板区出现回流区,且回流区与开孔促淤板格栅位置相对应;板后水流相对紊动强度、雷诺切应力及相对紊动能明显大于板前,开孔促淤板对板后近板区水流影响较大;随着与开孔促淤板距离的增大,回流现象消失,流速变化趋于稳定,水流相对紊动强度减小且最终趋于稳定,相对紊动能出现折减且折减率逐渐降低;靠近近板区xOy面雷诺切应力大于yOz面雷诺切应力,靠近下游xOy面雷诺切应力与yOz面雷诺切应力相差较小。  相似文献

本文用热线风速仪和数据采样技术,对二维湍流混合层、湍尾流和湍射流自模拟区内的平均速度、湍流强度、雷诺应力和脉动速度的高阶关联进行了测量,所得结果与不可压缩流体剪切湍流理论的计算结果进行了比较,两者吻合得较好。  相似文献
