一九八四年的电接触体

金电接触体的研究是最近两次国际会议上数篇有关文章的主题,会议是1984年11月在芝加哥同时举行的十二届国际电接触现象会议和三十届Holm电接触会议。滑动磨损和腐蚀膜在金表面上蔓延方面的新发现说明,镀金表面的最佳性能应该通过控制电镀工艺、提高接触体的设计水平和改善实验室环境试验的方法来实现。

第50届IEEE Holm电接触会议与22届国际电接触会议联合于2004年9月20-23日于美国西雅图召开．出席会议的各国代表约200人，我国西安交通大学陈德桂教授和北京邮电大学章继高教授参加了会议。会议论文集共收集了80篇论文，分为7个专题：汽车电器、电弧分断、触头材料、电接触现象、通信、微机电元件、小电流电接触。

第十二届电接触现象会议简况

国际电接触会议于1961年在美国Orono,Maine召开第一届会议。1984年9月15日至9月21日在美国芝加哥召开第十二届会议。这次会议是与美国的第30届Holm会议一起召开的。会议的主办单位是伊利诺斯工程学院,Armington教授负责(他曾担任国际委员会主席),副主席单位有:美国电气和电子工程师协会,美国试验和材料学会,电子连接器研究会,继电器制造国家协会,电化学协会,美国电镀学会,美国冶金工程研究所,电子工业学会等八个团体。

History of the electrical insulation conference

The Electrical Insulation Conference (EIC) Was organized in 1958. Four conferences were held before the establishment of the IEEE. Starting with the fifth conference in 1963, IEEE became a co-sponsor for this conference. The history of the various awards and recognitions sponsored by the EIC are listed. Efforts at expanding the scope of the technical activities and the interactions with related groups are discussed.     

IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering 2008

The annual IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE) provides a forum for the presentation and discussion of high-quality technical papers that encompass a wide range of disciplines within electrical and computer engineering. The 21st episode of the CCECE very well matched the conference theme ?Wonders of Technology,? featuring seven mini-symposia that included about 90 technical paper sessions. There were new initiatives in this conference, and they included full-paper submission and elaborate technical review; and a technical focus in the form of symposia. We sincerely hope that a new era is born for the Canadian flagship conference CCECE with its focused approach and peer-reviewed, high-quality, full-paper submissions.     

The 6th International Conference on Properties and Applications ofDielectric Materials (ICPADM'2000); and the history of the ICPADM

In the interest of having written notes on some of the history of the DEIS activities, Prof. Kao, Founder of the International Conference on Properties and Application of Dielectric Materials, was asked to set down in writing some of his memories of how the ICPADIM came about. From the beginnings of the DEIS, the Society had sponsored conferences on electrical insulation in North America. Under the leadership of Eric Forster, who was the Meetings Chair for a number of years, the Society broadened its scope and began to sponsor meetings outside of North America. It is of historical interest to understand how the ICPADM came about. It was the first Pan-Asian conference sponsored by the DEIS and continues to hold the distinction of being our only Pan-Asian conference. Prof. Kao, one of the keynote speakers' at the ICPADM 2000, compares the most recent conference with the first in a "Reporter's Notebook" format. He has also drawn from his memory as to how the original conference came about     

Welcome to ECCE 2009 [2009 IEEE ECCE Preview]

ECCE 2009 combines two of the most successful international conference programs-the IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (PESC) and the technical programs of the Industrial Power Conversion Systems Department (IPCSD) (made up of the Electric Machines, Industrial Drives, Industrial Power Converter, and Power Electronics Devices Committees) at the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Annual Meeting-into one significant conference and exposition with a focus on energy conversion, efficiency, and sustainability. In addition to combining all relevant power electronics, devices, machines, and drives activities from the two conferences, this event will bring engineers, students, and academics together to enhance cooperation, start interdisciplinary dialogue, and encourage the exchange of ideas between these various constituents.     

New ideas spring from Virginia Tech's historical roots

Although it has been around since 1917, the Virginia Tech Student Branch is anything but an old timer. Attracting members, educating the public about what electrical and computer do and operating the student branch with a modicum of fiscal independence has always been the focus of the student branch sponsors a number of activities that address those goals. The officers added up a new component to their most popular event the student professional awareness conference (S-PAC) which is held at all IEEE Student Branches to promote professionalism in engineering

The IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) reaches the community and its members every year, bringing together researchers, clinicians, industry representatives, and trainees from around the world. The 30th annual international conference of the EMBS was held at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre in Vancouver, Canada, on 20-24 August 2008. The 2008 edition of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC) gathered more than 1,600 biomedical engineers in beautiful downtown Vancouver for four exciting days of science, networking, and social interaction.

India Challenge [President's Message]

The IEEE is the world's largest professional technical association with about 50% U.S. and 50% non-U.S. membership. From a demographic point of view, membership in the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) is equally divided, split between the United States and the rest of the world. We are a very diverse community on a global scale with members from more than 46 different countries, representing many different cultures and ethnic backgrounds. We organize and/or support many meetings and symposia with several large events, the International Microwave Symposium held in the United States, the European MW Conference held in Region 8, and the Asia Pacific Conference in Region 10. Our Society represents microwave engineers and scientists in all regions and helps organize and support a variety of local and regional activities. It's appropriate for us to reach out to engineers and scientists involved with microwave theory and techniques regardless of their location and encourage them to participate as members of the international microwave community. It's important to make sure all members and nonmembers appreciate what being a member of MTT-S and the IEEE is all about and how being a member is important professionally and personally.

2007年在我国举办了国际照明界最重要的两个会议：第26届国际照明委员会大会（CIE-26）和第11届国际光源科技研讨会（LS-11）。本文是作者参与组织和参加这两次会议后,对照明科技发展的一些个人看法。照明科技是人类文明的标志,也是最早的研究对象之一。由于照明与人们的文化、生产和社会生活如此的密切,它仍然受到广泛的关注,充满着生命力。近代照明研究已经不仅仅局限于视觉的需要,照明与人的相互作用也已经成为研究的对象。有人甚至认为照明与人的相互作用,应该作为今后的照明框架。照明节能和节能光源是会议的重要议题之一,各种新的节能照明技术和节能光源都是研究开发的热点。
