Given the large investments in mobile data services (MDS), it has become important to understand customers’ decision-making processes as they pertain to the adoption and use of MDS. In the telecommunication domain, understanding the distinction between potential adopters and existing users is an important issue, as the use of information and communication technologies is associated with what has become known as the digital divide. This study attempts to develop a theoretical framework that identifies utilitarian and hedonic values as the key predictors of MDS acceptance and continuance. It also investigates the difference in the determinants between potential adopters and existing users. The proposed research model is empirically tested by using survey data collected from 120 potential adopters and 354 existing users. The results of structural equation modeling (SEM) show that the proposed research model provides a significant explanation of the variance of adoption intention and continued usage intention toward MDS. This study also clarifies the moderating role of direct experience with MDS in behavioral intention toward it. The results of this study would provide some guidelines to overcoming the digital divide in the context of MDS. Theoretical and practical implications of the findings are discussed.  相似文献

Firm-hosted online communities are user-centred, and their efficacy depends on the users’ sustained participation. This study investigated the impact of social capital on users’ continued usage intention. Specifically, since very little work has been done to explore the antecedents of social capital, we tested the role of operator-related and individual-related factors in cultivating social capital by proposing an integrated research model to fill this gap. Furthermore, to gain deeper insights into continuance intention, we postulate that active degree moderates the relationship between social capital and users’ continued usage intention. Our model is empirically examined using survey data collected from 373 members of a well-known firm-hosted online community in China. The results reveal that the firm’s reaction, offline activities, interaction support, seeking reputation and perceived enjoyment are the significant antecedents of social capital. Additionally, social tie and shared vision exert a stronger effect on continued usage intention for active users, whereas identification has a higher influence on continued usage intention for inactive users. Finally, this study discusses the theoretical and practical implications of these findings and provides possible directions for future research.  相似文献

Increasingly, studies are reported that examine how conceptual modeling is conducted in practice. Yet, typically the studies to date have examined in isolation how modeling grammars can be, or are, used to develop models of information systems or organizational processes, without considering that such modeling is typically done by means of a modeling tool that extends the modeling functionality offered by a grammar through complementary features. This paper extends the literature by examining how the use of seven different features of modeling tools affects usage beliefs users develop when using modeling grammars for process modeling. We show that five distinct tool features positively affect usefulness, ease of use and satisfaction beliefs of users. We offer a number of interpretations about the findings. We also describe how the results inform decisions of relevance to developers of modeling tools as well as managers in charge for making modeling-related investment decisions.  相似文献

The commercialization of DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting), a portable multimedia broadcasting technology, has begun. Although DMB has been introduced internationally, the distribution has been limited to a few countries, such as Korea and Japan. Moreover, the DMB industries have not yet obtained large share of broadcasting market. Hence, it is necessary to further understand DMB users’ usage intentions in order to make substantial profits. This study examines the factors which affect DMB usage intention in order to induce and sustain its continuous usage. Adopting the extended DeLone and McLean’s IS success model, we include new factors derived from unique features of DMB. The research model was empirically tested, based on a questionnaire survey of 350 DMB users, by structural equation modeling. Results show that content quality and enjoyment directly influence intention to use and that system quality, content quality, enjoyment, ubiquitousness, and time pressure indirectly influence intention to use through user satisfaction. This study provides theoretical and practical implications to generate sustainable DMB usage.  相似文献

Despite the increasing popularity of social networking websites, very little is known about users’ extrinsic and intrinsic motivations that influence their continued use of these websites. The long-term development of social networking websites depends on their users’ continuance of use. To examine the extrinsic and intrinsic motivations, this study integrates the technology acceptance model, the theory of planned behavior, the expectation disconfirmation model, and flow theory to construct a research model which investigates the factors that motivate users to continue to use social networking websites. The research model was tested empirically within the context of Facebook and 482 samples of data were analyzed using a structural equation modeling approach. The analysis showed that the proposed theoretical model provided a deep understanding of user continuance behavior towards social networking websites. The theoretical and practical implications of this study are discussed.  相似文献

Previous studies on adoption of the Internet and WWW have investigated factors affecting usage. We believe that the intention to use a technology is equally important, not only for promoting the technology but also for encouraging its voluntary continued use. Although the Triandis model has been applied to a number of technology adoption studies, its adequacy has not been assessed by using a confirmatory analysis method. Structural equation modeling may be used to assess the adequacy of the model for a technology adoption study and to compare it to alternative specifications that integrate previous research results. To prove our hypothesis, data were collected from 255 part-time MBA and diploma students. The results show that our proposed model provides a better fit than the original model. The structural path model shows the important factors that influence the intention to use the Internet/WWW as well as interrelationships between the factors. Comparing previous results on actual usage, the relative importance of factors affecting intention formation is different.  相似文献

The paper presents a framework for the empirical evaluation of conceptual modeling techniques used in requirements engineering. The framework is based on the notion that modeling techniques should be compared via their underlying grammars. The framework identifies two types of dimensions in empirical comparisons—affecting and affected dimensions. The affecting dimensions provide guidance for task definition, independent variables and controls, while the affected dimensions define the possible mediating variables and dependent variables. In particular, the framework addresses the dependence between the modeling task—model creation and model interpretation—and the performance measures of the modeling grammar. The utility of the framework is demonstrated by using it to categorize existing work on evaluating modeling techniques. The paper also discusses theoretical foundations that can guide hypothesis generation and measurement of variables. Finally, the paper addresses possible levels for categorical variables and ways to measure interval variables, especially the grammar performance measures.  相似文献

Summary Specializing an existing graph grammar model we look in detail at node context-free graph grammars. With a slight generalization the parse trees for context-free Chomsky grammars can be used to describe derivations of these graph grammars.As shown already in former works the precedence graph grammars are defined as a subclass of context-free graph grammars by certain algebraic restrictions on the form of the rules. Then we can prove that every precedence grammar is unambiguous and additionally the reduction process in such a grammar read as replacement system is finite.The most important aim in defining the predence relations was a simple parsing method. This is realized because it is shown that the syntactic analysis for precedence graph grammars can be done in a time which linearly depends on the size of the input graph.The whole method has been implemented and a documentation is available.  相似文献

The widespread of social media (SM) provides information system (IS) research with a great opportunity to examine IS usage habit. This study adapts habit perspectives of social psychology into social media use and contextualizes findings from both service marketing and IS usage literature for developing a model of SM usage habit. The model suggests a set of behavior-, goal-, affect-, and expectation-based factors that drive the formation of habit for SM use, which in turn influences future usage behavior. By testing the model with a longitudinal field survey of 518 social networking service (SNS) users, this study provides an integrative context-specific view of SM usage habit and addresses unconscious habitual IS use beyond the traditional perspectives of conscious intentional behavior. The findings have important implications for promoting sustainability of social media applications and services.  相似文献

Reversibility of logic grammars in natural language processing is desirable for both theoretical and practical reasons. This paper addresses this topic in describing a new approach to automated inversion of logic grammars: the Direct Inversion Approach (dia). A logic grammar is inverted by automatically altering the order of literals in the grammar and reformulating certain recursive procedures at compile time. The inversion process results in a new executable grammar, which is evaluated top-down and left-to-right (using a standard Prolog interpreter), but not left-to-right with respect to the original grammar. Thedia improves upon related approaches not only in being fully automated and computationally tractable, but also with respect to the class of grammars it is able to invert and the performance of the new executable grammar produced. Business process modeling is widely regarded as one of the most popular forms of conceptual modeling. However, little is known about the capabilities and deficiencies of process modeling grammars and how existing deficiencies impact actual process modeling practice. This paper is a first contribution towards a theory-driven, exploratory empirical investigation of the ontological deficiencies of process modeling with the industry standard Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN). We perform an analysis of BPMN using a theory of ontological expressiveness. Through a series of semi-structured interviews with BPMN adopters we explore empirically the actual use of this grammar. Nine ontological deficiencies related to the practice of modeling with BPMN are identified, for example, the capture of business rules and the specification of process decompositions. We also uncover five contextual factors that impact on the use of process modeling grammars, such as tool support and modeling conventions. We discuss implications for research and practice, highlighting the need for consideration of representational issues and contextual factors in decisions relating to BPMN adoption in organizations.  相似文献

The use of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems has grown enormously since 1990, but the failure to completely learn how to use them continues to produce disappointing results. Today's rapidly changing business environment and the integrative applications of ERP systems force users to continuously learn new skills after ERP implementation. This study explores the effects of post-implementation learning on ERP usage and ERP impact and identifies the factors that can impact post-implementation learning, such as social capital and post-training self-efficacy. This study employs a survey method to examine the perceptions of ERP users. The theoretical model is tested by using structural equation modelling on a dataset of 812 users. This study finds that post-implementation learning has a significant positive effect on ERP usage and ERP impact, and that social capital and post-training self-efficacy are important antecedent factors of post-implementation learning. Post-training self-efficacy also significantly affects ERP usage and ERP impact. The implications for research, practice and future research directions are discussed.  相似文献

Macrostructural modelization is paramount to the development of large complex systems (LCS). The paper explores the macrostructural modelization of LCS in terms of a block diagram based model and a grammar based model. Firstly, the macrostructural modelization problem of LCS is formulated. Secondly, a block diagram based model is proposed and established for LCS. Specifically, two general-purpose information-processing modules are proposed and constructed, called perception cube and decision spheroid. Thirdly, a grammar based model is proposed and established for LCS through applying formal language theory to the block diagram based model. Specifically, perception cube and decision spheroid are visually represented as context-free grammars, named fusion grammar and synthesis grammar, respectively. Through a stratified constructive linkup between a stream of bottom-up growing fusion grammars and a stream of top-down growing synthesis grammars, a level of LCS is constructively defined and accordingly represented as a context-free grammar, named level grammar. Then, a whole LCS is represented as a context-free grammar through a compounding of all level grammars. Finally, a case study is presented to demonstrate the potential usability of the proposed and established models of LCS  相似文献

Our research model expanded the Bhattacherjee's IS continuance model by adding a moderating effect (IS habit) to IS continuance intention and IS continued usage, postulating direct links between satisfaction and IS continued usage, as well as between prior behavior and IS continued usage. The model was tested with an Internet-based learning technology in a longitudinal setting. Data collected from 505 students were examined using partial least squares analysis. The results presented strong support for the theoretical links of IS continuance model, and for the new moderating effect. Both satisfaction and prior behavior were found to have significant impact on IS continuance. In addition, our findings confirmed the theoretical argument that the strength of intention to predict continuance was weakened by a high level of IS habit.  相似文献

Creating a virtual city is demanded for computer games, movies, and urban planning, but it takes a lot of time to create numerous 3D building models. Procedural modeling has become popular in recent years to overcome this issue, but creating a grammar to get a desired output is difficult and time consuming even for expert users. In this paper, we present an interactive tool that allows users to automatically generate such a grammar from a single image of a building. The user selects a photograph and highlights the silhouette of the target building as input to our method. Our pipeline automatically generates the building components, from large‐scale building mass to fine‐scale windows and doors geometry. Each stage of our pipeline combines convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and optimization to select and parameterize procedural grammars that reproduce the building elements of the picture. In the first stage, our method jointly estimates camera parameters and building mass shape. Once known, the building mass enables the rectification of the façades, which are given as input to the second stage that recovers the façade layout. This layout allows us to extract individual windows and doors that are subsequently fed to the last stage of the pipeline that selects procedural grammars for windows and doors. Finally, the grammars are combined to generate a complete procedural building as output. We devise a common methodology to make each stage of this pipeline tractable. This methodology consists in simplifying the input image to match the visual appearance of synthetic training data, and in using optimization to refine the parameters estimated by CNNs. We used our method to generate a variety of procedural models of buildings from existing photographs.  相似文献

A wide range of parser generators are used to generate parsers for programming languages. The grammar formalisms that come with parser generators provide different approaches for defining operator precedence. Some generators (e.g. YACC) support precedence declarations, others require the grammar to be unambiguous, thus encoding the precedence rules. Even if the grammar formalism provides precedence rules, a particular grammar might not use it. The result is grammar variants implementing the same language. For the C language, the GNU Compiler uses YACC with precedence rules, the C-Transformers uses SDF without priorities, while the SDF library does use priorities. For PHP, Zend uses YACC with precedence rules, whereas PHP-front uses SDF with priority and associativity declarations.The variance between grammars raises the question if the precedence rules of one grammar are compatible with those of another. This is usually not obvious, since some languages have complex precedence rules. Also, for some parser generators the semantics of precedence rules is defined operationally, which makes it hard to reason about their effect on the defined language. We present a method and tool for comparing the precedence rules of different grammars and parser generators. Although it is undecidable whether two grammars define the same language, this tool provides support for comparing and recovering precedence rules, which is especially useful for reliable migration of a grammar from one grammar formalism to another. We evaluate our method by the application to non-trivial mainstream programming languages, such as PHP and C.  相似文献

Distributed work structure has increased the importance of group work. Consequently, the usage of collaboration systems that support group work has increased exponentially. However, limited research exists on why collocated group members use collaborative system and how their perceptions about the system change from project initiation to project completion. The study proposes resource management support, coordination support, and evaluation support as key aspects based on which collocated users form beliefs about collaboration system value. Based on technology acceptance model and expectancy disconfirmation theory, we propose a model that examines the evolution of user beliefs from pre to post-adoption stage. Further, we argue that users may engage in different information processing strategies as part of the belief change process. The research model was examined based on longitudinal data collected from student groups working on a software application development project over a three month period. The results show that users deemed all features to be valuable at the pre-adoption stage. However, at the post-adoption stage evaluation support was the only factor that had a direct influence on collaboration system usefulness. While the impact of other support factors was mediated through the confirmation process. Further, users engaged in high information processing in revising their beliefs about collaboration system features, when they experienced a high level of dissonance. On the contrary, a dual information processing approach was visible in the context of support features that required adjustment or update to beliefs from pre to post-adoption stage. The study provides three core areas around which designers can structure collaboration system features to make it more useful. It also provides theoretical insights into the process through which user cognitions about collaboration system value change over time.  相似文献
