In this paper, we develop a novel distributed adaptive control architecture for addressing networked multiagent systems subject to stochastic exogenous disturbances with compromised sensor and actuators. Specifically, for a class of linear leader–follower multiagent systems, we develop a new structure of the neighbourhood synchronisation error for the control design protocol of each follower. The proposed control algorithm addresses time-varying multiplicative sensor attacks on the leader state measurements. In addition, the framework addresses time-varying multiplicative actuator attacks on the followers that do not have a communication link with the leader and additive actuator attacks on all follower agents in the network. The proposed adaptive controller guarantees uniform ultimate boundedness of the state tracking error for each agent in a mean-square sense.

In this paper, we consider a multi-agent consensus problem with an active leader and variable interconnection topology. The state of the considered leader not only keeps changing but also may not be measured. To track such a leader, a neighbor-based local controller together with a neighbor-based state-estimation rule is given for each autonomous agent. Then we prove that, with the proposed control scheme, each agent can follow the leader if the (acceleration) input of the active leader is known, and the tracking error is estimated if the input of the leader is unknown.

In this paper, we consider a multi-agent consensus problem with an accelerated motion leader and variable interconnection topology. To track such a leader, a neighbor-based local controller together with a neighbor-based state-estimation rule is proposed for each second-order follower-agent. The neighbor-based estimation rule is used to estimate the acceleration of the leader, which is assumed not to be measured by follower agents directly. By constructing a parameter-dependent common Lyapunov function, a sufficient condition is established to guarantee that each agent can follow the leader although the leader moves with an unknown time-variant acceleration. Moreover, the tracking error is estimated for the case that the unknown acceleration part of the leader has bounded derivative. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the obtained result.

This work considers the problem of distributed consensus tracking control of second-order uncertain nonlinear systems under a directed communication graph which contains a spanning tree, where the leader node is the root. It is assumed that the followers receive only the relative positions from the neighbours. For the purpose of consensus tracking controller design, in each follower, a group of K-filters is introduced so that the necessity of velocity estimating is avoided. Then we can express each follower's tracking error dynamics as a second-order system with mismatched uncertainties. And hence we can design a robust consensus tracking controller for each follower by using the combination of the backstepping design and the disturbance observer based control using only relative position information. Theoretical analysis is performed to show that the DOBs' estimation errors can be made to decay to be sufficiently small very quickly before the system states escape from the feasible region. Then we show that all the followers' states track those of the leader with arbitrarily small ultimate error bounds. And simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.

This paper addresses the distributed output feedback tracking control problem for multi-agent systems with higher order nonlinear non-strict-feedback dynamics and directed communication graphs. The existing works usually design a distributed consensus controller using all the states of each agent, which are often immeasurable, especially in nonlinear systems. In this paper, based only on the relative output between itself and its neighbours, a distributed adaptive consensus control law is proposed for each agent using the backstepping technique and approximation technique of Fourier series (FS) to solve the output feedback tracking control problem of multi-agent systems. The FS structure is taken not only for tracking the unknown nonlinear dynamics but also the unknown derivatives of virtual controllers in the controller design procedure, which can therefore prevent virtual controllers from containing uncertain terms. The projection algorithm is applied to ensure that the estimated parameters remain in some known bounded sets. Lyapunov stability analysis shows that the proposed control law can guarantee that the output of each agent synchronises to the leader with bounded residual errors and that all the signals in the closed-loop system are uniformly ultimately bounded. Simulation results have verified the performance and feasibility of the proposed distributed adaptive control strategy.

This paper considers the cooperative tracking of linear multi-agent systems with a dynamic leader whose input information is unavailable to any followers. Cooperative iterative learning controllers, based on the relative state information of neighboring agents, are proposed for tracking the dynamic leader over directed communication topologies. Stability and convergence of the proposed controllers are established using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals. Furthermore, this result is extended to the output feedback case where only the output information of each agent can be obtained. A local observer is constructed to estimate the unmeasurable states. Then, cooperative iterative learning controllers, based on the relative observed states of neighboring agents, are devised. For both cases, it is shown that the multi-agent systems whose communication topologies contain a spanning tree can reach synchronization with the dynamic leader, and meanwhile identify the unknown input of the dynamic leader using distributed iterative learning laws. An illustrative example is provided to verify the proposed control schemes.
