Analysis and control of variability by using fuzzy individual control charts

The detection of changes in a process within shortest time provides significant benefits in terms of cost and quality. When considering the cost which would show up because of delays in identifying variability, detecting the deviation in the process accurately and quickly has a great importance for investors. In this paper, return volatility in the Borsa Istanbul-30 index (BIST-30) has been analyzed and a fuzzy control chart for individual measurements (FCCIM) has been proposed for use in determining and controlling in the variables of the BIST-30 index. For this purpose, firstly exponential smoothing method is used to forecast the variability of stock price of BIST-30 index by using MINITAB statistical software, and then a fuzzy control chart for individual measurements (FCCIM) which are fuzzy individual control chart (FICC) and fuzzy moving range control chart (FMRCC) with fuzzy control rules have been developed to be used in determining the variability of the process. For this aim, some fuzzy rules have been defined by using Ms EXCEL in fuzzy control chart for individual measurements. A real case application from Istanbul Stock Exchange for BIST-30 has been managed to check the effectiveness of suggested fuzzy control charts.

JFreeChart 在铁路机车运行监视系统中的应用

铁路机车运行监视系统是一套远程监视机车车载设备实时运行状态信息,为机车设备提供故障预警、维护参考和检修支持的信息系统;该系统的一个重要环节就是将从机车上采集并通过传输、解析进入数据库的机车设备实时信息在客户端通过动态图形报表的形式直观地描述出来,以便专业人员进行设备状态分析。在铁道部铁路信息化中指定的J2EE三层架构环境中,如果采用自己设计的Java绘图类绘制图形,往往效果不佳;我们则通过引入目前最好的Java图形报表解决方案——JFreeChart来解决这个问题。本文主要描述的就是基于JFreeChart的Java动态图形报表技术在铁路机车运行状态中的应用,为大家在相似领域的应用提供参考。     

Process control using VSI cause selecting control charts

The article considers the variable process control scheme for two dependent process steps with incorrect adjustment. Incorrect adjustment of a process may result in shifts in process mean, process variance, or both, ultimately affecting the quality of products. We construct the variable sampling interval (VSI) Z_{[`(X)]</sub>-Z<sub>SX<sup>2</sup></sub>{Z_{\overline{X}}-Z_{S_X^2}} and Z<sub>[`(e)]}-Z_Se²{Z_{\bar{{e}}}-Z_{S_e^2}} control charts to effectively monitor the quality variable produced by the first process step with incorrect adjustment and the quality variable produced by the second process step with incorrect adjustment, respectively. The performance of the proposed VSI control charts is measured by the adjusted average time to signal derived using a Markov chain approach. An example of the cotton yarn producing system shows the application and performance of the proposed joint VSI Z_{[`(X)]</sub> -Z<sub>SX<sup>2</sup></sub> {Z_{\overline{X}} -Z_{S_X^2 }} and Z<sub>[`(e)]} -Z_Se² {Z_{\bar{{e}}} -Z_{S_e^2 }} control charts in detecting shifts in mean and variance for the two dependent process steps with incorrect adjustment. Furthermore, the performance of the VSI Z_{[`(X)]</sub>-Z<sub>SX<sup>2</sup></sub> {Z_{\overline{X}}-Z_{S_X^2 }} and Z<sub>[`(e)]} -Z_Se² {Z_{\bar{{e}}} -Z_{S_e^2 }} control charts and the fixed sampling interval Z_{[`(X)]</sub> -Z<sub>SX<sup>2</sup></sub> {Z_{\overline{X}} -Z_{S_X^2 }} and Z<sub>[`(e)]} -Z_Se² {Z_{\bar{{e}}} -Z_{S_e^2 }} control charts are compared by numerical analysis results. These demonstrate that the former is much faster in detecting small and median shifts in mean and variance. When quality engineers cannot specify the values of variable sampling intervals, the optimum VSI Z_{[`(X)]</sub>-Z<sub>SX<sup>2</sup></sub> {Z_{\overline{X}}-Z_{S_X^2 }} and Z<sub>[`(e)]} -Z_Se² {Z_{\bar{{e}}} -Z_{S_e^2 }} control charts are also proposed by using the Quasi-Newton optimization technique.     

Generating educational mobile applications using UIDPs identified by artificial intelligence techniques

Commercial mobile devices vary in brand, size, and functionalities, but they all allow people to interact with educational applications. In software engineering, application development techniques, approaches, methodologies, and processes (e.g., BBD, FDD, RAD, DDD) are often time consuming, costly, or aim at expert developers – which implies that users outside the software development field (e.g., teachers) need great practice to become experienced application developers. This work proposes an artificial-intelligence-based process for generating educational mobile apps from freehand-generated images. The images’ design is based on User Interface Design Pattern (UIDP) representations. As a proof of concept, we introduce EduMatic, an application development tool. To test our process, we assessed Wiki-Comp, an application built with EduMatic, along with three other external educational applications: Khan Academy, Wiki encyclopedia, and Kiwix. According to the evaluation results, Wiki-Comp outstands in functionality, usability, and performance aspects.
