随着全球数字图书馆(DLs)的迅猛发展,互操作成为亟待解决的重要问题。目前DLs互操作的主要解决方案包括:分布式搜索、元数据收集、中间件技术等,在实现大规模的数字图书馆互操作方面都存在一定的局限性。文章通过对已有方案的分析和对比,指出各自的优势和不足,并在OAI-PMH框架的基础上,结合先进的网格技术,提出全新的数字图书馆互操作框架—数字图书馆网格DLGrid,为解决大规模数字图书馆的互操作提供一种新途径。 相似文献

针对EJB3.0条件下元数据处理所面临的问题,本文提出了一种EJB3.0元数据框架.它不仅提供元数据注释的解析、部署描述符的解析和元数据信息的存储访问控制等元数据服务,而且具有良好的内部结构,可以根据变化方便维护和更新.同时,该框架具有较高的功能独立性,实现了与应用服务器其他模块的松耦合.该框架已经在Java EE应用服务器PKUAS上实现. 相似文献

The Grid is an infrastructure for resource sharing and coordinated use of those resources in dynamic heterogeneous distributed environments. The effective use of a Grid requires the definition of metadata for managing the heterogeneity of involved resources that include computers, data, network facilities, and software tools provided by different organizations. Metadata management becomes a key issue when complex applications, such as data-intensive simulations and data mining applications, are executed on a Grid. This paper discusses metadata models for heterogeneous resource management in Grid-based data mining applications. In particular, it discusses how resources are represented and managed in the Knowledge Grid, a framework for Grid-enabled distributed data mining. The paper illustrates how XML-based metadata is used to describe data mining tools, data sources, mining models, and execution plans, and how metadata is used for the design and execution of distributed knowledge discovery applications on Grids. 相似文献

The Open Archives Initiative (OAI) is an evolving protocol and philosophy regarding interoperability for digital libraries (DLs). Previously, ‘distributed searching’ models were popular for DL interoperability. However, experience has shown distributed searching systems across large numbers of DLs to be difficult to maintain in an Internet environment. The OAI is a move away from distributed searching, focusing on the arguably simpler model of ‘metadata harvesting’. Perhaps the strongest and distinguishing feature of OAI is its simplicity: by being ‘smaller’ than previous interoperability projects, it actually allows for more powerful and adaptable configurations and deployments. Key concepts in OAI include the separation of responsibilities of ‘service provider’ and ‘data provider’ and the use of community‐specific metadata sets (with Dublin Core as a lingua franca). This paper gives a brief history of the OAI, an examination of the protocol itself, and lists some of the current projects and future directions. 相似文献

Open archives initiative (OAI) allows both libraries and museums create and share their own low-cost digital libraries (DL). OAI DL are based on OAI-PMH protocol which, although is consolidated as a pattern for disseminating metadata, does not rely on either digital preservation and availability of content, essential requirements in this type of system. Building new mechanisms that guarantee improvements, at no or low cost increases, becomes a great challenge. This article proposes a distributed archiving system based on a P2P network, that allows OAI-based libraries to replicate digital objects to ensure their reliability and availability. The proposed system keeps and extends the current OAI-PMH protocol characteristics and is designed as a set of OAI repositories, where each repository has an independent fail probability assigned to it. Items are inserted with a reliability that is satisfied by replicating them in subsets of repositories. Communication between the nodes (repositories) of the network is organized in a distributed hash table and multiple hash functions are used to select repositories that keep the replicas of each stored item. The OAI characteristics combined with a structured P2P digital preservation system allow the construction of a reliable and totally distributed digital library. The archiving system has been evaluated through experiments in a real environment and the OAI-PMH extension validated by the implementation of a proof-of-principle prototype. 相似文献
