Mobile agents add a new communication paradigm to traditional network communication mechanisms. So far, the pervasiveness of publicly available mobile agent platforms is not given. Offering a seamless integration of mobile agents into the WWW is crucial for the success of mobile agents. One of the growing fields of interest in the Web is the area of electronic commerce. Mobile Web-commerce agents could play a prominent role in future electronic commerce scenarios, if the malicious host problem could be solved. Our paper describes the integration of mobile agents into the Web and the use of Java cards to allow mobile agents to store and securely transport data. This is achieved by allowing the agents to carry encrypted code parts which can only be decrypted by the Java card attached to the target host of the next migration.  相似文献

This paper presents a framework that merges various advanced information technologies for developing electronic commerce (e-commerce) applications. The use of e-commerce utilities provides several advantages to businesses. Intelligent agents can be used to facilitate some tasks from those that take place in a commercial transaction moving to a second generation of e-commerce applications. Electronic commerce is just beginning to be realisable. A number of technological, sociological and economic developments will be required before a large-scale roll out of electronic commerce can be expected. An architectural framework should be defined and needs to incorporate the semantics of contracting and negotiation based on knowledge technology. Electronic commerce has recently increased the demand for personalisation capabilities dramatically. This would imply the use of user-adaptive agents. Because electronic commerce is intrinsically interactive with virtual catalogues, this framework should make such interaction possible. This framework is centred around the Cyber e-Broker concept based on knowledge-based agents. Electronic commerce involves parties that may belong to different domains or administrations with different ontologies. This framework should enable manipulation of such information and enable conversion between ontologies. The e-broker ensures the correct negotiation protocols, and enforces the constraints and contracts, but also interacts with the virtual catalogues.  相似文献

The World Wide Web and email are used increasingly for purchasing and selling products. The use of the internet for these functions represents a significant departure from the standard range of information retrieval and communication tasks for which it has most often been used. Electronic commerce should not be assumed to be information retrieval, it is a separate task-domain, and the software systems that support it should be designed from the perspective of its goals and constraints. At present there are many different approaches to the problem of how to support seller and buyer goals using the internet. They range from standard, hierarchically arranged, hyperlink pages to “electronic sales assistants”, and from text-based pages to 3D virtual environments. In this paper, we briefly introduce the electronic commerce task from the perspective of the buyer, and then review and analyse the technologies. A framework is then proposed to describe the design dimensions of electronic commerce. We illustrate how this framework may be used to generate additional, hypothetical technologies that may be worth further exploration.  相似文献

One shortcoming of manufacturing information systems is their inability to integrate and to enhance different information and related functionalities, such as those found in workflow management. Software agents, once added as a new software layer to an existing system, can overcome this problem. Of the fields applying software agent technology, manufacturing, and especially workflow management, is perhaps the most promising for the development of distributed systems. This potential is reflected in the several ongoing research projects that focus on workflow management and share the final aim of integrating and coordinating plant and business activities.The approach presented in this paper can be regarded as an agent-based architecture applied to an existing workflow management system in order to manage new functionalities, e.g., customer relationship management in electronic commerce. This approach is particularly suitable for small medium enterprises with simple manufacturing information requirements and simple or nonexistent computer based workflow management.The model and some important features of system implementation, such as the knowledge modeling graphical user interface, the communication model, and a simple practical example of the architecture's use, are described.  相似文献

The merger of electronic commerce, intelligent agent and distributed computing technologies over TCP/IP-based platforms enables the creation of electronic markets in new types of products featuring both human and software agents as actors. One such example is a market in custom-built information products. These are information products that have been constructed to meet specific requirements provided by the consumer. Examples include custom research reports, analysis, and computational objects. How should these markets be designed? What are the market mechanisms that should be used to coordinate the interactions between the actors? What should be the decision strategies employed by the software agents that participate in the market? IBIZA is a computational workbench that enables designers to create and simulate electronic markets in information products. It provides a repository of software agents, bidding strategies, brokering strategies and market mechanisms. Using the repository, designers can instantiate particular designs of electronic markets and conduct experiments to study the impact of design decisions on desired objectives. In this paper, we focus on the key technical and economic issues encountered in the design of IBIZA. We illustrate using examples from our work on designing a software agent-based electronic market for automated model development.  相似文献
