E‐service evaluation is a complex problem in which many qualitative attributes must be considered. These kinds of attributes make the evaluation process hard and vague. Cost–benefit analyses applied to various areas are usually based on the data under certainty or risk. In case of uncertain, vague, and/or linguistic data, the fuzzy set theory can be used to handle the analysis. In this article, after the evaluation attributes of e‐services and the fuzzy multi‐attribute decision‐making methods are introduced, a fuzzy hierarchical TOPSIS model is developed and applied to an e‐service provider selection problem with some sensitivity analyses. The developed model is a useful tool for the companies that prefer outsourcing for e‐activities. It is shown that service systems can be effectively evaluated by the proposed method. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Int Syst 22: 547–565, 2007.  相似文献

This article suggests an evolutionary approach to designing interaction strategies for multiagent systems, focusing on strategies modeled as fuzzy rule‐based systems. The aim is to learn models evolving database and rule bases to improve agent performance when playing in a competitive environment. In competitive situations, data for learning and tuning are rare, and rule bases must jointly evolve with the databases. We introduce an evolutionary algorithm whose operators use variable length chromosomes, a hierarchical relationship among individuals through fitness, and a scheme that successively explores and exploits the search space along generations. Evolution of interaction strategies uncovers unknown and unexpected agent behaviors and allows a richer analysis of negotiation mechanisms and their role as a coordination protocol. An application concerning an electricity market illustrates the effectiveness of the approach. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Int Syst 22: 971–991, 2007.  相似文献

In large‐scale, complex domains such as space defense and security systems, situation assessment and decision making are evolving from centralized models to high‐level, net‐centric models. In this context, collaboration among the many actors involved in the situation assessment process is critical to achieve a prompt reaction as needed in the operational scenario. In this paper, we propose a multiagent‐based approach to situation assessment, where agents cooperate by sharing local information to reach a common and coherent assessment of situations. Specifically, we characterize situation assessment as a classification process based on OWL ontology reasoning, and we provide a protocol for cooperative multiagent situation assessment, which allows the agents to achieve coherent high‐level conclusions. We validate our approach in a real maritime surveillance scenario, where our prototype system effectively supports the user in detecting and classifying potential threats; moreover, our distributed solution performs comparably to a centralized method, while preserving independence of decision makers and dramatically reducing the amount of communication required. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.  相似文献

This article extends the quantifier‐guided aggregation method to include probabilistic information. A general framework for the preference solution of decision making under an uncertainty problem is proposed, which can include decision making under ignorance and decision making under risk methods as special cases with some specific preference parameters. Almost all the properties, especially the monotonicity property, are kept in this general form. With the generating function representation of the Regular Increasing Monotone (RIM) quantifier, some properties of the RIM quantifier are discussed. A parameterized RIM quantifier to represent the valuation preference for probabilistic decision making is proposed. Then the risk attitude representation method is integrated in this quantifier‐guided probabilistic decision making model to make it a general form of decision making under uncertainty. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Optimal aggregation plays an important role towards developing a theory of aggregation of fuzzy concepts, based on non-additive set-functions and nonlinear (Choquet or fuzzy) integrals. This paper presents a framework supporting such aggregations and argues that such a framework is useful to decision making based on distributed sources of evidence.  相似文献

This article presents a quality evaluation model for measuring the performance of hospital Web sites. The model is developed on the basis of a conceptual framework, which consists of seven major e‐service quality dimensions, including tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, confidence, empathy, quality of information, and integration of communication issues of Web sites. The dimensions and their associated attributes are first obtained from published articles in the health care and information technology literature and then adapted according to the suggestions of related domain experts. Two multicriteria decision‐making methods are used in the evaluation procedure. Determined Web site evaluation dimensions and their relevant attributes are weighted using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Vagueness in some stages of the evaluation required the incorporation of fuzzy numbers in the assessment process. Both fuzzy and crisp data are then synthesized using the fuzzy PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation) ranking method. The model is applied initially to measure the performance of the Web sites of Turkish hospitals. This study should be of interest to health care and technology practitioners and researchers, as the findings shed light on the further development of performance measurements for hospital Web sites. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Group decision‐making problems are situations where a number of experts work in a decision process to obtain a final value that is representative of the global opinion. One of the main problems in this context is to design aggregation operators that take into account the individual opinions of the decision makers. One of the most important operators used for synthesizing the individual opinions in a representative value of majority in the OWA operator, where the majority concept used aggregation processes, is modeled using fuzzy logic and linguistic quantifiers. In this work the semantic of majority used in OWA operators is analyzed, and it is shown how its application in group decision‐making problems does not produce representative results of the concept expressed by the quantifier. To solve this type of problem, two aggregation operators, QMA–OWA, are proposed that use two quantification strategies and a quantified normalization process to model the semantic of the linguistic quantifiers in the group decision‐making process. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Many mission‐critical, decision‐making situations happen in dynamic, rapidly changing, and often unpredictable environments. Military, governmental, and medical contexts are examples of such situations, which can be characterized by highly decentralized, up‐to‐date data sets coming from various sources. Unlike other decision‐making tools, decision support systems (DSS) designed for such situations are challenged by the need to access this decentralized data at any time, from anywhere, under tight time constraints. This paper presents the design of a software framework for developing these kinds of distributed DSSs. The proposed Java‐based framework relies mostly on the Jini technology and its JavaSpaces service. The construction of the framework is presented with UML class diagrams, UML sequence diagrams, and additional explanations. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Based on the model‐free adaptive control, the distributed formation control problem is investigated for a class of unknown heterogeneous nonlinear discrete‐time multiagent systems with bounded disturbance. Two equivalent data models to the unknown multiagent systems are established through the dynamic linearization technique considering the circumstances with measurable and unmeasurable disturbances. Based on the obtained data models, two distributed controllers are designed with only using the input/output and disturbance data of the neighbor agents system. The tracking error of the closed‐loop system driven by the proposed controllers is shown to be bounded by the contraction mapping principle and inductive methods. An example illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed two distributed controllers.  相似文献

The intuitionistic fuzzy decision making problems have gained great popularity recently. Most of the current methods depend on various aggregation operators that provide collective intuitionistic fuzzy values of alternatives to be ranked. Such collective information only depicts the overall characteristics of the alternatives but ignores the detailed contrasts among them. Most important of all, the current decision making procedure is not in accordance with the way that the decision makers (DMs) think about the decision making problems. In this paper, we develop a novel intuitionistic fuzzy decision making model in the framework of decision field theory. The decision making model emphasizes the contrasts among alternatives with respect to each attribute that competes and influences each other, and thus, the preferences for alternatives can dynamically evolve and provide the final optimal result. After that, we develop an intuitionistic fuzzy group decision making model based on decision field theory, and then make a practical case study on the application of the developed models to the “one belt, one road” investment decision making problems. Finally, we point out the characteristics and the limitations of our models in detail.  相似文献

A fuzzy multi-criteria group decision making approach that makes use of quality function deployment (QFD), fusion of fuzzy information and 2-tuple linguistic representation model is developed for supplier selection. The proposed methodology seeks to establish the relevant supplier assessment criteria while also considering the impacts of inner dependence among them. Two interrelated house of quality matrices are constructed, and fusion of fuzzy information and 2-tuple linguistic representation model are employed to compute the weights of supplier selection criteria and subsequently the ratings of suppliers. The proposed method is apt to manage non-homogeneous information in a decision setting with multiple information sources. The decision framework presented in this paper employs ordered weighted averaging (OWA) operator, and the aggregation process is based on combining information by means of fuzzy sets on a basic linguistic term set. The proposed framework is illustrated through a case study conducted in a private hospital in Istanbul.  相似文献

An effective foreign exchange (forex) trading decision is usually dependent on effective forex forecasting. In this study, an intelligent system framework integrating forex forecasting and trading decision is first proposed. Based on this framework, an advanced intelligent decision support system (DSS) incorporating a back‐propagation neural network (BPNN)‐based forex forecasting subsystem and Web‐based forex trading decision support subsystem is developed, which has been used to predict the directional change of daily forex rates and provide intelligent online decision support for financial institutions and individual investors. This article describes the forex forecasting and trading decision method, the system architecture, main functions, and operation of the developed DSS system. A comparative study is conducted between our developed system and others commonly used in order to assess the overall performance of the developed system. The assessment results show that our developed DSS outperforms some commonly used forex forecasting and trading decision systems and can provide intelligent e‐service for forex traders to make useful trading decisions in the forex market. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Pythagorean fuzzy set, an extension form of intuitionistic fuzzy set, which owns many advantages for dealing with uncertainties, and it has been developed to deal with various complex decision‐making problems. Furthermore, based on lower and upper approximations induced by multiple binary relations, the multigranulation rough set has become one of the most promising directions in rough set theory. To combine the two ideas and explore the practical decision‐making problems, we develop a new multigranulation rough set model, called Pythagorean fuzzy multigranulation rough set over two universes. In the framework of our study, we introduce the models of Pythagorean fuzzy rough set over two universes and Pythagorean fuzzy multigranulation rough set over two universes, respectively. Both the definition and basic properties are explored. Finally, we give a general algorithm, which is applied to a decision‐making problem in merger and acquisition, and the effectiveness of the algorithm is demonstrated by a numerical example.  相似文献

Before implementing a design of a large engineering system different design proposals are evaluated. The information used by experts to evaluate different options may be vague and/or incomplete. Although different probabilistic tools and techniques have been used to deal with these kinds of problems, it seems better to use the fuzzy linguistic approach to model vagueness and the Dempster‐Shafter theory of evidence for modeling incompleteness and ignorance. In the evaluation of alternative designs, different criteria can be considered. In this article an evaluation process is developed in terms of Safety and Cost analysis. Both criteria involve uncertainty, vagueness, and ignorance due to their nature. Therefore, we propose an evaluation process defined in a linguistic framework where both criteria will be conducted in different utility spaces, i.e., in a multigranular linguistic domain. Once the evaluation framework has been defined, we present an evaluation process based on a Multi‐Expert Multi‐Criteria decision model that will be able to deal with multigranular linguistic information without loss of information in order to evaluate different design options for an engineering system in a precise manner. Accordingly, we propose the use of a multigranular linguistic model based on the Linguistic Hierarchies presented by Herrera and Martínez (“A model based on linguistic 2‐tuples for dealing with multigranularity hierarchical linguistic contexts in multi‐expert decision‐making.” IEEE Trans Syst Man Cybern B 2001;31(2):227–234). © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The recognition-primed decision (RPD) model is a primary naturalistic decision-making approach which seeks to explicitly recognize how human decision makers handle complex tasks and environment based on their experience. Motivated by the need for quantitative computer modeling and simulation of human decision processes in various application domains, including medicine, we have developed a general-purpose computational fuzzy RPD model that utilizes fuzzy sets, fuzzy rules, and fuzzy reasoning to represent, interpret, and compute imprecise and subjective information in every aspect of the model. Experiences acquired by solicitation with experts are stored in experience knowledge bases. New local and global similarity measures have been developed to identify the experience that is most applicable to the current situation in a specific decision-making context. Furthermore, an action evaluation strategy has been developed to select the workable course of action. The proposed fuzzy RPD model has been preliminarily validated by using it to calculate the extent of causality between a drug (Cisapride, withdrawn by the FDA from the market in 2000) and some of its adverse effects for 100 hypothetical patients. The simulated patients were created based on the profiles of over 1000 actual patients treated with the drug at our medical center before its withdrawal. The model validity was demonstrated by comparing the decisions made by the proposed model and those by two independent internists. The levels of agreement were established by the weighted Kappa statistic and the results suggested good to excellent agreement.  相似文献

The proliferation of the Internet and World Wide Web applications has created new opportunities as well as new challenges for institutions and individuals who are either receiving or delivering education. Electronic (e) learning is one of the most important developments in education. It recognizes the shift from teaching to learning and puts the learner or user before the institution. The objectives and expected outcomes of e‐learning are largely dependent on the quality of the teaching processes and the effectiveness of online access. Hence, assessing methods for the effectiveness of e‐learning Web sites are a critical issue in both practice and research. However, Web site quality is a complex concept and its measurement is expected to be multidimensional in nature. Multicriteria decision‐making (MCDM) techniques are widely used for evaluating and ranking such problems containing multiple, usually conflicting criteria. For this reason, this article presents a quality evaluation model based on the MCDM to measure the e‐learning Web sites' performance. In addition, the subjectivity and vagueness in the assessment process are dealt with using fuzzy logic. The study has investigated 10 worldwide and 11 locally successful Web sites with the proposed method. By suggesting an aggregated measure based on the Web site quality criteria, it is expected that the method could be useful to the e‐learning service providers and system developers, as well as to the researchers related with Web research. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (HFLTS) is a very useful technology in dealing with decision‐making problems where people have hesitancy in providing their linguistic assessments. Distinct methods have been developed to aid decision making with HFLTSs, yet there is little research involving the issue that how to deal with the multigranularity hesitant fuzzy linguistic information. The aim of this paper is to develop the aggregation method for multigranularity hesitant fuzzy linguistic information and solve the linguistic group decision problem with different linguistic term sets. To do so, we first modify the translation functions and aggregation operators in the existing 2‐tuple linguistic representation models so as to aggregate linguistic terms from different linguistic term sets. Then, we introduce the notion of hesitant 2‐tuple sets to make computation of HFLTSs without loss of information, and develop some new operators to aggregate HFLTSs from different linguistic term sets. Using these operators, we propose a method to deal with multigranularity linguistic group decision‐making problems with different situations where importance weights of either criteria or experts are known or unknown. Finally, the multigranularity linguistic group decision‐making model is implemented to the healthcare waste treatment in West China Hospital to validate its effectiveness and efficiency in aiding decision‐making process.  相似文献

Experience‐based reasoning (EBR) is a reasoning paradigm that has been used in almost every human activity such as business, military missions, and teaching activities since early human history. However, EBR has not been seriously studied from either a logical or mathematical viewpoint, although case‐based reasoning (CBR) researchers have paid attention to EBR to some extent. This article will attempt to fill this gap by providing a unified fuzzy logic‐based treatment of EBR. More specifically, this article first reviews the logical approach to EBR, in which eight different rules of inference for EBR are discussed. Then the article proposes fuzzy logic‐based models to these eight different rules of inference that constitute the fundamentals for all EBR paradigms from a fuzzy logic viewpoint, and therefore will form a theoretical foundation for EBR. The proposed approach will facilitate research and development of EBR, fuzzy systems, intelligent systems, knowledge management, and experience management. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Fuzzy relational database models generalize the classical relational database model by allowing uncertain and imprecise information to be represented and manipulated. In this article, we introduce fuzzy extensions of the normal forms for the similarity‐based fuzzy relational database model. Within this framework of fuzzy data representation, similarity, conformance of tuples, the concept of fuzzy functional dependencies, and partial fuzzy functional dependencies are utilized to define the fuzzy key notion, transitive closures, and the fuzzy normal forms. Algorithms for dependency preserving and lossless join decompositions of fuzzy relations are also given. We include examples to show how normalization, dependency preserving, and lossless join decomposition based on the fuzzy functional dependencies of fuzzy relation are done and applied to some real‐life applications. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
