Previous studies of A* tree-searching have modeled heuristics as random variables. The average number of nodes expanded is expressed asymptotically in terms of distance to goal. The conclusion reached is that A* complexity is an exponential function of heuristic error: Polynomial error implies exponential complexity and logarithmic accuracy is required for polynomial complexity.This paper eliminates simplifying assumptions of earlier studies. Error is replaced by a concept called discrepancy, a measure of the relative attractiveness to A* of a node for expansion when that node is compared with competing nodes on the solution path. According to our model, in order to have polynomial A* complexity, it is not necessary to have the logarithmic accuracy described in previous studies. Another way is for a heuristic's values to vary, or cluster, near a central function which grows at least as fast as distance to goal. Generally, logarithmic variation or less is adequate. Summary This paper presents a uniform approach to known and new results on relative completeness of Hoare-like calculi for languages of ALGOL-like programs with procedures as procedure parameters. First the notion of a copy rule is introduced. It provides a uniform framework for dealing with different variants of semantics reaching from dynamic to static scope. Then for each copy rule a Hoare-like calculus () is presented, the soundness of which is shown by using an approximating semantics. The key to the completeness results lies in a general completeness theorem on the calculi () which has these results as corollaries. Finally, a new type of theorem on Hoare-like calculi is proved by which the notion of formal provability in () is completely characterized. This characterization theorem is the main result of the paper. It covers both soundness and completeness of the calculi () and additionally gives an idea of what the limits of presently known Hoare-like proof techniques for programming languages with procedures are.  相似文献

The role of craft language in the process of teaching (learning) Waza (skill) will be discussed from the perspective of human intelligence.It may be said that the ultimate goal of learning Waza in any Japanese traditional performance is not the perfect reproduction of the teaching (learning) process of Waza. In fact, a special metaphorical language (craft language) is used, which has the effect of encouraging the learner to activate his creative imagination. Summary This paper is devoted to developing and studying a precise notion of the encoding of a logical data structure in a physical storage structure, that is motivated by considerations of computational efficiency. The development builds upon the notion of an encoding of one graph in another. The cost of such an encoding is then defined so as to reflect the structural compatibility of the two graphs, the (externally specified) costs of implementing the host graph, and the (externally specified) set of intended usage patterns of the guest graph. The stability of the constructed framework is demonstrated in terms of a number of results; the faithfulness of the formalism is argued in terms of a number of examples from the literature; and the tractability of the model is hinted at by several results and by further references to the literature.  相似文献

Summary The throughput of a satellite channel communication is depending upon the link protocol. It is well known that the classical HDLC protocol is inadequate when applied to satellite links instead of short terrestrial links. Several modifications have been proposed to overcome this problem. The present paper gives an analysis and evaluation of a new class of protocols called Virtual Subchannel schemes which splits the satellite link into several components; these subchannels are assigned for transmission in cyclic order and are controlled independently of each other by the classical HDLC procedure.  相似文献

Summary In a simple language for finite automata based on SCCS we introduce three different delay operators , , . The operators , are two different versions of an unbounded but finite delay operator. It is argued that the usual notion of bisimulation is inadequate and two generalisations are proposed. In both cases we give a complete axiomatisation for finite terms of the language and prove that certain forms of induction are sound. In one case we give a complete axiomatisation.  相似文献

Summary Very much space is needed to store the values of all attribute instances in an attributed tree at the corresponding nodes; for that reason global cells are often used to store values of attribute instances. But these global cells must contain the right value at the right time, and, therefore, not all evaluation sequences of attribute instances are admissible, if one uses global cells.In this paper we will study first the problem arising during the construction of such admissible evaluation sequences for attributed trees, if no special property of an underlying ag is presumed. This will lead to a number of restrictions on the practically allowed use of global cells. After that we will provide a method for the construction of admissible evaluation sequences for arbitrary attribute trees of given attribute grammars, if global cells are used in the restricted sense. The proposed method is independent of special classes of attribute grammars and can be used with arbitrary evaluator generators.  相似文献

In this paper we present a complete classification of the collection of such families (p), 0 p < 1, showing that forms an infinite nondense hierarchy with (0) being its only accumulation point from below. In order to make micro 3-D structures, we are designing a table-sized factory, namely Nano Manufacturing World (NMW). In NMW, we challenged to use a new process fused by semiconductor process for preciseness and machine process for 3-dimensionality. In order to realize the new process, we designed three new mechanisms in this paper: multi-face shape making beam, co-focus rotational robot and micro mechanical tools. Through an evaluation to actually make a micro Gojunoto with the mechanisms, we confirmed their validities for functions of integration of 3-D shape construction and assembly.  相似文献

In this paper I consider how the computer can or should be accepted in Japanese schools. The concept of teaching in Japan stresses learning from a long-term perspective. Whereas in the instructional technology, on which the CAI or the Tutoring System depends, step-by-step attainments in relatively short time are emphasized. The former is reluctant in using the computer, but both share the Platonic perspective which are goal-oriented. However, The Socratic teacher, who intends to activate students' innate disposition to be better, would find another way of teaching and use of the computer.  相似文献
