将一种具有自组装特性的新型POSS核凝胶因子添加到含有偶氮苯光响应剂的液晶基体中,获得具有高Tsg(凝胶-溶胶转变温度)和抗张强度的超强液晶物理凝胶。偶氮苯光响应剂赋予该液晶物理凝胶波长响应特性,液晶基体赋予其温度响应特性,所获液晶物理凝胶不同的响应状态之间具有显著的对比度差异,使其无需使用传统液晶显示器中必不可少的偏振片也能显示出清晰的图像信息。偏振片的省去极大地简化了显示器件的结构,使得该液晶物理凝胶超强的力学性能得以充分利用,用以制备一种新型的可拉伸液晶显示器件,该显示器件在拉伸到原始长度的145%时仍能清晰地显示原有的图像信息。由于该器件的制备过程简单,可以通过包括滴涂、旋涂以及高温喷涂等在内的传统加工工艺制备获得,相信全拉伸型液晶显示器件在将来可以获得广泛的应用。 相似文献

用1913CIE和1976CIE分析了液晶投影显示分色系统对图像色纯度和色均匀性的影响。介绍了分色系统的膜系设计,与典型的分色膜系相比,优化膜系由于通带中的波纹显著减小,色纯度得到明显改善,尤其是绿光,讨论了照明光孔径角对分色系统均匀性的影响,提出了用厚度渐变的楔形膜校正色差的方法,使色均匀性得到显著改进。 相似文献

采用高温酯化、低温水解方法,制备了用于液晶显示屏的三醋酸纤维素(CTA)。采用IR、化学滴定等手段对产物的结构进行了表征,并对膜的透光率以及力学性能等进行了测试。结果表明,自制的CTA结合醋酸含量达到60%以上,透光率高达95%以上,双折射值极低,力学性能良好,基本符合液晶显示屏起偏振片保护膜的使用要求。 相似文献

The aim of present review article is to present a comprehensive and current overview of scientific advancement in liquid crystal and carbon nanotube suspension. Particular attention has been paid to the recent developments and fundamental understanding of carbon nanotube dispersion in nematic liquid crystals. The dispersion and interaction of carbon nanotube in liquid crystal matrices and more elaborately the effect of dispersion on the properties of liquid crystalline materials has been extensively discussed. Recent progress has shown that even a very minute concentration of carbon nanotube in liquid crystals can have a reflective impact on the electrical and optical properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals provide a distinctive environment for controlling the alignment of carbon nanotubes whereas carbon nanotubes are important for the enhancement and fine-tuning of liquid crystalline properties. Potential applications of liquid crystal and carbon nanotube suspension are briefly discussed. Conclusion and future perspectives of this rapidly emerging field is provided at the end. 相似文献

The solid surface in the conventional liquid crystal displays, being responsible for the liquid crystal alignment in the absence of external fields, is playing only a passive role in the switching of the liquid crystal layer. Recently, we have shown that the anchoring strength and the easy axis, two important parameters characterizing the liquid crystal alignment, can effectively be controlled by light via photo-induced nano-scale changes of the solid surface properties. We have also introduced two novel concepts of commanded anchoring, the electrically commanded surfaces (for mediating switching of the liquid crystal) and the high performance alignment layers (for facilitating the switching of the liquid crystal) realized practically by means of a proper nano-engineering of the alignment layer. Electrically commanded anchoring concepts are strong candidates for implementation in a new generation of advanced liquid crystal displays and devices. 相似文献

The study investigates the thermal hysteresis in the phase transition between the cholesteric liquid crystal and the blue phase of liquid crystal. Both the CLC phase and the blue phase can stably exist at room temperature and be switched to each other using temperature-controlled processes. Two sets of bistable conditions are demonstrated using various surface treatments. In a homogeneous aligned sample, two stable states, CLC with a planar alignment and blue phase with a uniform lattice distribution, reflect light of wavelengths 480-510 nm and 630 nm, respectively, as determined by the corresponding Bragg’s reflection conditions. In the untreated sample, the CLC phase with a focal conic texture can scatter light and the blue phase with a non-uniform lattice distribution provides high isotropic optical transparency. 相似文献

We study the behavior of a mixed Langmuir monolayer consisting of a fatty acid and a nematic liquid crystal. We demonstrate that the mixed monolayer successfully transfers as a Langmuir-Blodgett film and characterize the transferred film using UV spectroscopy. An important application of Langmuir-Blodgett films is in the alignment of liquid crystals for electro-optical applications, such as displays. We show that including the liquid crystal in the Langmuir-Blodgett film produces homeotropic alignment for a system which fails to align by other standard techniques. 相似文献
