基于MIDAS的人行天桥的温度作用分析

人行天桥的设计很少在石油化工工程设计中出现,对油气站场内人行天桥的设计缺少经验,对桥梁结构的一些影响因素与油气站场结构设计有所不同。文中针对桥梁结构设计的方法和特点,采用MIDAS/Civil桥梁有限元分析软件,对油气站场内人行天桥进行建模分析,分析温度变化对人行天桥结构的影响,结果表明,温度对钢结构人行桥梁的影响很大,不容忽视。

混凝土结构存在使用寿命的问题。对结构进行剩余使用年限的评定可及时对结构进行维护,减少维护的费用,揭示潜在的危险。在混凝土碳化的耐久性极限状态的研究基础上,对混凝土构件经过一定碳化损伤后,对剩余使用年限进行研究。

对某人行天桥附近地面和桥上进行振动数据采样,根据测试结果,对天桥在激励下的动力响应的特点作出了讨论,分析了城市道路交通产生的地面振动的传播规律,对城市交通振动对环境的影响进行了初步评价,最后将数值结果与允许振动标准作出比较,得出了交通振动对天桥振动的影响。

Housing assets to the elderly in urban China: to fund or to hedge?

Housing has become the most important asset held by a large proportion of China’s older citizens. Therefore, the role of housing wealth in the consumption decisions of the elderly is a central topic of research and gains insights into the saving, investment and consumption decisions made throughout household life to meet later pension needs. In this paper, using data drawn from a household survey conducted between 2002 and 2009, we estimate the influence of housing wealth on the non-housing consumption of the elderly, and identify the mechanisms underlying this relationship. We find that on average, changes in housing wealth have limited effects on elderly consumption. However, we also find that the role of housing in consumption differs according to the income, health status, and living arrangements of the elderly. The paper draws attention to the influence of housing and its links with social and health-care systems on the lives of older people, with important policy implications.     

Race to the top in traffic calming

We study the competition of two suburbs facing transit traffic flows. The suburbs are substitutes for transit traffic. In the absence of toll measures, the symmetric Nash equilibrium with two local governments leads to a race to the top in traffic calming measures that increases the cost of travel. The Nash equilibrium is compared to two types of centralized decisions: the symmetric solution and the asymmetric solution. The asymmetric solution that concentrates all transit traffic in one suburb is better but can only be realized if the authority over the local roads is transferred to the central authority.

Project management in small to medium-sized enterprises: Matching processes to the nature of the firm

Small to medium enterprises (SMEs) make a key contribution to the economy in terms of employment, innovation and growth. Project management can play a significant role in facilitating this contribution, but SMEs require less bureaucratic forms of project management than those used by larger, traditional organizations. We are undertaking this research to identify the nature of project management required by SMEs, and the results of the qualitative stage of our research are reported in this paper. We interviewed people from companies of the three sizes of SME, micro, small and medium, from a range of industries and from four countries. SMEs use project management both to manage operations, to deliver tailored or bespoke products to customers, and manage innovation and growth. We found similar project management approaches used for both purposes. The main differences occurred by size of company and country. Both Ireland and Sweden looked for more laissez-faire management styles, while people in Austria and Romania were willing to accept more autocratic styles. People in Sweden wanted more structure than people in Ireland. Also laissez-faire styles of management were more appropriate in micro and small companies, whereas more democratic or autocratic styles were needed in medium-sized companies. All three sizes of company wanted less bureaucratic versions of project management than traditional forms, but medium-sized companies, where people fulfil more specialist roles, need more structure than small and micro companies.
