乡愁设计—农民回迁社区景观营造

正项目缘起大规模的城市建设发展已蔓延到城乡结合地区,原住居民的居住环境、生活方式均发生改变,世代相连的场地记忆遭到冲击。回迁社区的景观环境是失地农民居住及活动的重要场所,将会间接影响到城乡文化的融合以及回迁居民与社会间的矛盾。在回迁社区景观营造中应基于以人为本的设计理念,及时解决相关问题,兼顾回迁居民原有的基本生活方式及其心理、精神等方面的需求,使其更好地融入到新的城市生活中。     

重庆工业博物馆的概念规划和建筑设计

为了使具有120年历史的重庆钢铁厂的命脉得以延承,在原重庆钢铁厂型钢厂旧址兴建了重庆工业博物馆。为解决工业遗产保护和再利用与新建创意产业园区及商业配套间的矛盾以及传统工业区单一空间与新建城市复杂功能的矛盾,通过最大化保留原工业遗存,创造标志性的、鲜明的城市景观,将旧工业园区与新城区整合成完整的多元复合的城市文化和工业博览区。它既保留了工业时代遗留的城市记忆,又使得原工业建筑与城市发展和产业需求相结合。通过一系列引导性的开发、改建,完成角色的转变,使整个区片重新获得了生命和活力。

<正>设计理念西村·贝森大院意图跨界整合各类社会资源,创造一种将运动休闲、文化艺术、时尚创意有机融合的本土生活集群空间,满足多元化的现实需求,成为持续激发社区活力的城市起搏器。秉承"当代手法、历史记忆"的建筑理念,借鉴计划经济时代单位集体居住大院的空间原型,尝试将这种带有集体主义理想色彩的社区空间模式转化到贝森大院当下的建筑模式与设计语言中,融集体记忆、地域特色与现代生活方式于一体。     

叙事写实特征的研究——以奈保尔小说为例

奈保尔在《半生》中将现实情境与创作虚构相结合。半自传体的运用使得作者将自身经历与真实世界加入作品创作。通过研究作者写实手法的运用,发现在后殖民时代人们所面临的对身活的困惑和对理想与现实的迷茫,使主题更容易被读者了解和接受,从而更好发挥文学作品的作用。

关于城市规划的理想主义与理性主义理念——对“近期建设规划”讨论的思考

结合关于近期建设规划的讨论 ,对现代规划理论发展中的理想主义与理性主义的理念作了综述。指出 ,在现代城市规划理论的发展中 ,理想主义理念与理性主义理念从未缺失过 ,而且理想主义理念是第一位的 ;而当前规划中理论与实践的背离是源于方法论问题。提出 ,在规划研究中要本着理想主义追求某种“终极蓝图” ,本着理性主义寻求“空间现象背后的约束条件” ;而在规划实践中 ,要本着理性主义努力去发现“新的空间约束条件” ,并本着理想主义精神力图推进制订、修改那些能使“约束条件获得改进”的正式或非正式的规则。     

“完美”的二分法

本文起始从哲学和文艺的角度追溯理想主义的根源;进而遑论建筑界两种对立的完美:理想主义的和现实主义的,并认为这对矛盾是可以统一的,历数古今中外各种“过时”的理想,指出它们具有现代意义;最后,寄语建筑师不要放弃理想。     

Renting with pets: a pathway to housing insecurity?

Companion animals are rarely considered in rental policy or research. This absence belies their prevalence and growing centrality within practices of family and home, and persists despite evidence of links between companion animals and rental insecurity. This paper begins to address this gap. Through an online survey and in-depth interviews with people who rented with companion animals in Sydney, Australia, over the 10 years to 2013, the paper identifies connections between pet ownership and rental insecurity, including perceptions about the low availability and poor quality of advertised ‘pet-friendly’ properties. The paper argues that pet ownership can trigger feelings of rental insecurity, and advocates for inclusion of pet ownership as a variable impacting secure occupancy. It suggests companion animals are an escalating rental risk, their significance to their owners causing some to accept accelerating levels of rental insecurity by keeping pets without landlord knowledge. These experience impact on the ability of renters to feel ‘at home’ in rental properties.     

Humanism in Contemporary Architecture: Tough- and Tender-Minded

This article situates the work of Leon Krier within the contexts of postindustrialism and postmodernism. The author is critical of Krier, and finds problematic his self-proclaimed stance of idealism/purism, a position which devalues a possible practice of direct cultural and political action, and reduces his work to the level of hollow scenography. Dutton argues that, especially in these times, architects must strive to overcome their marginalization. He points to an instrumental role for architecture in promoting transformative cultural directions, politics, and ways of life. He argues that there is maneuverability to resist dominant culture, a precondition of which is for architects to link with struggling cultures to help produce their vision and spatiality.

The role of official heritage in regional spaces

Following the argument that increasing mobility has scattered consumption throughout Sweden’s regions, this study investigates how individuals’ consumption choices are influenced by official heritage. It argues that individuals’ everyday routines highlight the role played by heritage in socio-economic regional change, challenging traditional planning systems and altering individuals’ relationships with their environments, leading to new values being placed on official heritage. This argument was tested using interviews and questionnaires in Mariefred, Sweden, and demonstrates that official heritage plays multiple and contrasting roles, including the use of heritage as an attempt to reconcile opposing principles such as progress/development and tradition/conservation.     

Regulating Scotland's Social Landlords: Localised Resistance to Technologies of Performance Management

Influenced by Foucault's later work on governmentality, this paper explores the regulation of social landlords as a ‘technology of performance’ concerned with governing the conduct of dispersed welfare agencies and the professionals within them. This is a mode of power that is both voluntary and coercive; it seeks to realise its ambitions not through direct acts of intervention, but by promoting the responsible self-governance of autonomous subjects. Through an analysis of the regulatory framework for social landlords in Scotland, this paper highlights the creation of a performance culture that seeks to mobilise housing organisations to reconcile their local management systems and service provision to external standards, whilst simultaneously wielding punitive interventions for non-compliance. However, housing professionals are not passive in all of this, and indeed, actively challenged and resisted these top-down attempts to govern them at arm's-length.
